Mono-gendered aka single gender is still female so is a she / her / girl / woman etc. However she is always truly in love with Shepard, no matter gender, for which we are eternally thankfulBatlass8 wrote...
@Crimson: I agree we need to throw up a signal for the others. However, in the interests of honesty, we must also acknolwedge that Liara is not quite a woman. (I know you know this!)
That said, we all must acknowledge that she does fulfill a female role. So, boys, she's on the girls' team.

Play as Liara in ME2
One time, I played as Liara, romanced Liara and let Liara join my Squad in ME2.
It was an epic Liara overload.... and I'm okay with that.

Oh, how I wish my PC wasn't horrible so I could play things like this...
In other news, I finally heard back from where I got a job interview a week or so ago, and apparently I got rejected again. *Sigh.*

Bear in mind that the codex is written from the human point of view and isn't accurate. To the lore, an example is the article on Protheans in the first game.

They are mono-sexed. "Sex" and "gender" are not arbitrarily interchangeable, and "gender" is not a milder euphemism for "sex" (because s e x is so terribly offensive that you'll find it on any item of paperwork but can't say it on the internet or in video games)So the asari are mono-gendered, and that gender is female.

I think we can assume that the codex is accurate on asari, because unlike the protheans, it is a subject with alot of information and knowlegde available to it.
