Argh. I feel the Xbox pain.

I just want to put Shepard in a hat, occasionally. Is that too much to ask?

I just want to run around the Citadel in pants. And have Illusive man eyes. Stupid console restrictions.

That's what we get for being filthy console peasents,  I suppose. :(

A while back, my gf and I were wondering what personality types are most likely drawn to each LI (she prefers Tali). It'd be interesting to do some sort of study on that.

Personally, I think it’d just be an exercise in stereotyping. I’m not really comfortable with the undercurrent of these discussions where it’s implied that we (for given value of we) are in some way better/more mature/whatever than them.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was asleep. Yes, you are probably right that it would devolve into that. It's not at all what I had in mind, though. I was just curious if there is any sort of trend or connection there. Like do people tend to identify personality-wise with their preferred LI.

To put myself out there, for example, I'm relatively introverted and like interacting with people 1-on-1 IRL. I'm usually quiet and  very even tempered, but I can get my back up when I have to. I tend to be very protective of loved ones. I like science. I don't know, I just think I identify more with Liara's role in the relationship than Shepard's, even though I'm male and "controlling" Shep, lol. Wondered if anyone here felt the same.:)

Apologies for the somewhat OT post:

I'm not exactly sure how best to go about introducing myself, but I'm new to these forums, and I've actually been sort of stalk-lurking in this thread for the past few weeks.  I'm a huge Liara fan, and you all seem very nice and welcoming here, so I thought this would be a good place to start posting. As my first contribution, here's a LotSB screencap I took of her lovely smile.

Urrgh bad news for DA3: multiplayer was confirmed. I wonder how much will be cut to accommodate it. (I don't mind ME3 multiplayer..but..I don't want it in DA).

Well that was obvious, they'll never approve a singleplayer-only game.

No, we must load the cannon with something deadlier. Load it with Banshees!

Now where's Hollow, Doozer and Devil, our Banshee experts, when you need them... Maybe Omnia could help you out on this one, she'll give the employer a hug :innocent:

Downloaded and waiting for my next ME2 playthrough, whenever that may be. Should make for some awesome gameplay and screenshots.
But that ware Liara as armor line in the description simultaneously creeped me out and made me laugh [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sideways.png[/smilie]

And I can still top this. Just use this modded ini on a male Shepard. Muhahaha :D

I mean, Jennifer Hale's voice will irritate you, but Mark Meer as Liara is just hilarious.

Ooops, almost overlooked this one...

Akernis wrote...

Frudi is so going to taunt me for this after our little six-page discussion about it a hundred pages back but what the hell:

Liara: "Technically I am not a woman, my species is mono-gendered"
That said you are more than welcome to invite her over, she is the reason we are here after all Posted Image

I'm not one for taunting, not when I'm not pissed off anyway, so I'll let you off this time ;)
Well, maybe just a little - *points at Akernis for a pathetic attempt at a taunt* Haha, flipflopper!
Will that do? It'll have to, consider yourself taunted :P

Well, more seriously, since our discussion on this issue I've had a chance to partake in some other somewhat related discussions that have convinced me even more that:
- reducing gender and even sex to a simple binary male/female distinction seems quite inadequate and oversimplified
- disregarding how a person identifies themselves (in terms of gender) comes across as at least disrespectful

So I will continue to put the most stock into what Liara has to say on the issue, which is that asari do not consider themselves women. My anthropocentric bag of dicksShepard will just have to keep that in mind, she'll have a lot of dealings with the asari and she won't want to make herself seem disrespectful :)

That said, I have absolutely no problem if everyone else just implicitly headcanons that their asari have no issues whatsoever with being referred to as women. Or if this thread's girl squad recruits Liara into their combat ranks ;)

Now, for dragging this topic back up from a dozen pages ago, here's some blue:

20+ isn’t an age group ^_^ <16 are kids, 16–22 are kids with cars, 22–28 you finish growing up and 28– is dead or pretty close anyway.

Hmm didn't know we had so many zombies amongst us... BRAINS!!! Who said that???
Well I'll contribute too I'm in the category according to lillitheris were I've finished growing up but I'm a few years shy of being a zombie.:P

I hated that in ME2 even Shepard was talking about the decision as if it was about saving the human fleets vs. the council instead, not about actually winning the fight or not.

Well, that's because the decision is only saving the Council vs the human fleet. He just jumped through a mass relay in a tank and has no clue what the geth, council forces or Sovereign are doing.

Shepard has no way of knowing which tactic is more likely to result in victory because he simply doesn't have the information. All Shepard knows is that one choice will kill the council whilst the other will not.

Etc.

The data we are given is that 1. the Destiny Ascension is in trouble, and if destroyed, the Council will be killed. The DA is essentially disabled at this point, it’s not a tactical asset in itself; and 2. trying to help the DA will result in significant loss of strength, and distraction (the bad kind) from the main target—Sovereign.

We clearly see the situation differently, and I’m not really interested in hashing this any further. As I said, with the scenario as I see it, leaving the council is logical. If the scenario is clearer in that the loss of the fleet does not affect the overall fight, then it’s a much more even choice.

Double Liara kissing....this is possibly the best thing to come out of character model swapping, if also a tiny bit trippy.

Also, to those of you who use Texmod, does it slow down your systems? I find it downs my frames to half and I have to engage in emergency measures to keep the game playable. :|

This is a sign that you do not have enough VRAM (graphics memory). Texmod just increases the size of the data that must be in memory to render a scene; it doesn’t really tax graphics processing all that much.

ENB and FXAA, on the other hand, add post-processing; that will also require more crunching power.

Edit: you’d probably want to have 1 GiB+ of VRAM to use Texmod. If you don’t, and don‘t want to upgrade, you could see if you can instead squeeze some improvements out of FXAA or ENB.

I’ve fortunately a very nice machine setup, so I can finally play with pretty much everything turned on.
