Welcome, KShep!

Question: I was talking to someone the other day and they mentioned that to the best of their observation, most Liaramancers were the all-three-games sorts. Since I am not one of those, I was curious as to whether anyone else started a new romance with Liara in ME3?

I did, it just feels weird when you're used to her romanced dialouge and she doesn't use it. And it's a real kick in the balls when she doesn't say "I love you, Shepard" during the romance scene

Nah, I'm firmly in the faithful-to-Liara-for-three-games camp. B)

I did start a new romance with her in ME3 once, on my third playthrough when I didn't import a save. It felt wrong, especially how distant and impersonal Liara sounded a lot of the time (she even started out calling Shep 'Commander' instead of 'Shepard'). I know we here like to complain how little of Liara's content is different between old/new/no romance, but even with just the subtle changes, a faithful imported romance did feel quite distinct and more far satisfying than a new one.

Now that we're on the subject, am I the only one who thinks that Liara should still have the same romance lines if she was a new romance in ME3, provided you didn't go for anyone before her? I'm in the faithful through all 3 games camp too, but I like the idea of a playthrough where Liara and Shepard had feelings for eachother throughout all 3 games, but only acted on them in ME3; but the current dialogue if you try to do that kind of puts me off.

I'm not exactly sure how best to go about introducing myself, but I'm new to these forums, and I've actually been sort of stalk-lurking in this thread for the past few weeks.  I'm a huge Liara fan, and you all seem very nice and welcoming here, so I thought this would be a good place to start posting. As my first contribution, here's a LotSB screencap I took of her lovely smile. Posted Image

Welcome to Blue and True, glad to have you amongst us, allow me to give you a few pointers and show you around in case you are unaware of anything:
The first post of each new page must include a picture of Liara.
The bar is over there *points* Doozer is in charge of that while Moreeman often have some of the good stuff for those who are into that, brain bleach is on the desk besides it in case of unpleasent topics or pics.
Over here we have the our resident photografer Pineapple, or Ananas on a good day.
Please stay away from the Biotic Blue Baby Bomadment Brigade depot over there. Fanfics including Liara is sorted by gender of Shepard over here; Lizardviking, Moreeman, Theodor and my own ones for MShep and more or less the rest of our residents for Femshep.
Also please refrain from bashing other characters while here, many have other characters they like as well.

Warning: while lovely and wonderful this thread may induce off-topicness, sugar-overdose or the occasional banshee attacks and Blue Baby Bombardments.

I dunno if you’re the only one, but I disagree. There must be something to reward you if you’ve been together for three games (several years). Edit: I suppose that ought to be ‘there should be something’. Because there isn’t, really.

Edit: while being firmly in the camp that Liara loves Shepard no matter what.

I am with lilitheris on this one, while I would stay loyal to her throughout on love and principle alone I think that some of the romance content should remain exclusive to a Shepard that has been faithfully with her for so long.

Akernis, quite a nice summary there you wrote - this should be put in the OP of the thread! What more could a person need to know in order to post here?

That romance dialogue actually isn't exclusive to Shepards who have only had Liara as a LI through all three games. Shepard can also get that dialogue if he or she romanced someone else in Mass Effect 2, so long as Shepard breaks it off with the ME2 LI during their first meeting in ME3, and so long as Lair of the Shadow Broker (And Liara's romance in LotSB) occurs after the Suicide Mission.

I guess I should've worded that differently; I still think there should be a reward for staying loyal, (extra scenes etc.) but I also think there should be more for the people who chose Liara as their first and only romance throughout the series in ME3.

@ Snookie: I have nothing against there being more for those who choose Liara as their first LI in ME3 however I remain of the opinion that the "best" romance content should be reserved for those Shepards who hs been in romance and loyal throughout all three games.

What romance dialog are we talking about here exactly?

I suppose. All the romance content needed improvement of some kind. I think Garrus’ is probably the only almost pitch-perfect one.
