Question: I was talking to someone the other day and they mentioned that to the best of their observation, most Liaramancers were the all-three-games sorts. Since I am not one of those, I was curious as to whether anyone else started a new romance with Liara in ME3?

*Slowly raises hand, expecting to not survive.* 

For what it's worth, I'm retconning my fem Shep to romance Liara, and stay faithful throughout ME 2.

I was planning to call it off with a romanced Tali from ME2 in ME3 and romance Liara, but noticed all the dialogue changes if you had romanced her in all 3 games; which I wanted to experience. And since I'm not too keen on using Gibbed's save editor, I started an entirely new playthrough from ME1, just in time for the Leviathan DLC. The tone/smirk she gives when told that being friends doesn't cut it anymore is priceless. "Well, that sounds serious."

Oh? I didn't know there were dialogue changes if you romanced her in all three. Now I really want to get the retconning underway.

Actually, I can't see Liara staying with a cheating shepard. (Not to mention Alli apparently got all upset when she found out the player could cheat). I mean she/it deserves better then to be the 'fallback' LI.

From the linked ME3 bug list:

Complaint: Liara on Mars has a breather mask on outside of the structures. Mars has no atmosphere and as such Liara would not survive with just a paltry mask over her mouth and nose. Her eyes would need oxygen as would the rest of her body. This is immersion breaking.

That's why there are blood vessels supplying your eyes with blood
(You can see them if you pay the optician an extra £10 for the retinal camera screening)

@ Yuqi totally agree with you about a cheating Shep in ME2 going back to Liara ugh bugs me to no end, it's disrespectful to Liara and all she went through to bring you back, for real you couldn't keep it zipped Shep!<_< It's cruel and hurtful in RL once a cheater always a cheater in my experience anyway so I can't understand how anyone would willingly want to play through such scenarios in regards to a character they care for. And yup Ali actually asks her fans if they remained faithful to her, it's a dealbreaker for her lol!:innocent:

I loved the little scenes we got, the cabin scene her remark made me lol and the scene after you're rescued onboard the Normandy her little freak out followed by her giving you a stern little lecture was sweet and loving.

Neither do I...good thing Shepard didn't cheat.

In order for someone to cheat they have to be in a relationship, and Shepard unfortunately ends up single in Mass Effect 2. Even marriage vows state, 'Till death do us part,' and Shepard had been dead for two years. That leaves Shep's relationship status as 'uncertain' right up until the reunion, regardless of Shepard's intentions with the ME1 LI.
 
Ever see the movie Castaway? I see Shepard's situation as being like Tom Hanks' character after spending four years on a deserted island. After his rescue he returns home hoping to reunite with his fiance, only to find out she had thought he was dead, married another man, and had children. Shepard's reunion with Liara isn't quite that harsh, but he still gets the 'no' headshake (as in that kiss was a mistake) and gets asked to hack some terminals. Liara made it fairly clear that she wasn't interested at that time in picking up where they left off.  The reunion with the VS, if that is Shepard's LI, goes even worse.

Regardless of who the ME1 LI was, Shepard is not in a relationship after Horizon or Illium.  As such it was no more 'cheating' for Shepard to start a relationship with someone else, than it was for Tom Hanks character when he hooks up with that other woman at the end of Castaway. (implied)

Because of that I also think Liara not being too bent out of shape over an ME2 LI is realistic for a character that isn't prone to bouts of irrational jealousy.

That all being said, I'm also assuming that Lair of the Shadow Broker takes place after the events of Mass Effect 2. If LotSB is played prior to the Suicide Mission, Shepard rekindles the relationship with Liara, and then romances one of the ME2 LIs...he or she is definitely cheating.

I loved her remarks in both scenes:
What is it about you rescuing scientists from dig sites overrun by hostile forces, if you decided to help her take down the shadow broker I'll be jealous and somewhat concerned. Also I don't want any tentacled creature inside your mind... except me, that made my lol when I heard it first.

The back and forth between the Normandy and Anne's place I just popped into Liara's cabin to see if she had stuff to say. Hmm trying to think, I only played it once when it came out, Liara says the rescue part after you save Anne when you come back to the ship and the tentacle creature part after you meet Levi I'm pretty sure.

Just finished the rewritten chapter of my first fanfic. Mass Effect: Enterprise.
Though not a Liara/Shepard fic they are the official couple in it, Kaidan is also dead.

If anyone was wondering the name Enterprise in the story is the name of a new stealth ship prototype the main character will fly.
