I conferred with Liara and she supports not a cease fire but a true peace.
*Cautiously lets go of Snookie, Frudi and Moreeman as they run straight for the booze, boobs and cake*
*Smillingly shakes head before returning Blue & True to the Liara appreciation place it was before and then head over to Liara and the others*
Things back to the way we love them
You know, Liara looks great in white and all... but ugh, weddings
Yeah, it's really sad, only natural given the theme. I did think it ended on kind of a cautiously optimistic note at least. And Shepard did survive the war, she and Liara had over a century together afterwards. So it wasn't all sad I suppose...Achaewa wrote...

If you like Liara's Visit, you should also check out Eternity's Last Embrace which deals with a similar theme. It was one of the first fanfics I'd read and it's still one of my very favourite ones.
Remember reading that, it is good. But so sad.
*weird gif snip*
Reminds me of this fic, Peace and Happiness, atleast in this one Liara got a a happy ending.
And I guess you've given me another fic to add to my backlog, so thanks for that; hope I eventually get around to it, the few reviews on ffn sound promising.

My god you're right, there is wisdom in this young man's words, the power we possess should be wielded against our common enemy. We will show them true power, our manly fleets cannot withstand another attack and I will not be responsible for enslaving them all. Girls cover up your weapons of mass indoctrination, we can co-exist, we will regroup and unite together against the greater threat to our existance. A ceasefire has been declared and hereby agreed upon.:innocent:

I present to you a peace offering! We shall live in harmony once more.

(or at least that's what the majority consensus here seemed to be when the issue last came up)
Nice lil fix there Frudi but I was referring to us women not Liara, that whole gender issue with Liara is a hot button topic here, monogendered, do you consider them an all female race like it's refered to in the codex and so on.

Also I don't know if people have long since seen it but I just found this music video trubite to Liara and really liked it. Not only is it very well put together but the song feels really appropriate for Shepard with Liara, especially the two lines:
When I thought that I fought this war alone
You were there by my side on the trontline

That was why I wrote "throughout", as in "in every game in which they have a romance scene", she does not have an (on-screen) romance scene in the second (where no one is entirely naked anyway, as far as I am aware seeing is I did not really pay attention the other romances in that game) but as far as I am aware she is the only one to be naked in the third.Wulfram wrote...

This is actually something I've been wondering about (asari seeing into your mind) for a while now. Do you guys think Liara can explore Shepard's mind freely and dig out whatever she wants, or does she only see what Shepard allows her too, or whatever memories are sitting on the surface at the time? The scene where she offers to show Shep some of her own memories made it seem like she was going to display a few select moments of her past (at least to me). If that's the case then it would imply it's possible to pick which memories are shared. I've always wondered this, because it occurred to me that if Liara can see everything in Shepard's mind, she'd have access to a lot of things s/he would rather keep private.
Thoughts?

Apparently not
@Kshep I had a smiliar thought about it that they can pick memories and exchange them. Shep who plays the passive role in the melding would search a memorie, feeling ect and Liara would pull it out and they both can see it.

Hey, if I was in charge, I'd leave behind blueprints for a weapon of mass destruction for the next cycle, but in reality all it would do is play Rick Astley music.
I'm strange like that.
Also, @the what asari can and can't see topic, I'd honestly find the idea of the union a little less appealing if they could access every bit of information at will IMO.

Glad I don't, while I really like that game I would never be ably to truly appreciate a tribute to Liara if what happens in that game lurked in the dark recesses of my mind all the while.Achaewa wrote...

I also think it is a lot more complex than simply "she have restricted or unlimited access to her partner mind"
On one hand I think that the meld and union are each a consentual experience where each of the partners shows the other something they wish him/her to see, but we know that the meld can be used to forcibly aquire information without consent:
Benezia: "I took the location of the Mu Relay from the Queen's mind... I was not gentle. "
I think that in a meld the passive participant (for example Shepard when Liara tries to decypher the becon) either consciously or sunconsciously guides the asari to whatever information was needed to aquire from the meld.
In the considerably deeper Joining I do not think that either partner has any cotnrol over what happens and are too caught up in the moment to actively seek specific information. Also the Joining probably shares emotions and feelings rather then specific memories.

On the topics of Asari in the mind of people (that sounds wrong for some reason...) does anyone have any thoughts or ideas of what it would actually feel like to experience a melding or a Union/Joininghave for either partner? I would very much like to hear opinions on the matter, if an experience like that can even be described in words.
The only fic I know about that looks at that is in the climax of Rae's "Illos Can Wait" and to a lesser degree in Theo's "Lost in a Wonder"
I think I’ve read about a dozen or two different takes on it in various fics. FShep, so perhaps those haven’t been on your radar, but DE for example does this quite extensively.
I’ve played with it a little in recent(ish) chapters, from two different perspectives.
