I actually wasn't too broken up about Shepard dying; I was honestly more sad for Liara when he/she died tbh.

It would've been nice to see a blue-baby at the end, though. I mean, I feel like such a troll in the LOTsB cabin scene now.

Wait Yuqi+blue baby does this mean.... Yuqi you have a soul under that rough renegade exterior:o:P

nope ;D I  just wanted to see it , so I could imagine the baby accidently falling into lava! Purple bones FTW!!

Not flat out bawling, but a few movies have produced 'eyeball sweat.' Posted Image

Video games...not so much. Silent Hill 2 remains the only game so far to have made me cry. The death of Thane in Mass Effect 3 came close.

The Six Feet Under series finale remains the only thing to ever make me cry. Even then, it was just 'eyeball sweat'.

Admittedly, I have, though only in a few instances that I can recall.

I've shed a few tears only once in Mass Effect, and it wasn't even in the actual game itself. It was more or less a combination of feeling so much disappointed from the ending, knowing how extraordinary it could have been instead, and then finding this the next day.

And yeah, it's funny that the only scene in Mass Effect that has made me cry isn't in the actual game itself. Which is why I wanted it to be brought back so badly, because it's honestly a really powerful one that really got to me. Hearing that for the first time, combined with how frustrated I was over Mass Effect 3, couldn't help but have this effect on me. Don't tell me I'm the only one who thought this was tear-jerking.

And as far as video games go, this is the only instance in which I've cried, since it's the only game that has made me so emotionally invested before.

As far as movies go... I'll admit that I've shed at least one tear in certain moments in Cast Away, I Am Sam and The Bridges of Madison County. These are the only ones that I remember that have had such an effect on me, and that's quite a testament to the movies, since I'm usually made of stone.

Your not the only one. That scene with Shepard talking with Anderson and Shepard saying that he is a soldier and not fit for doing anything else and then Anderson saying "I think you made a great dad and then Anderson saying "think how proud your kids will be telling everyone, my dad is Commander Shepard" is really powerful.:crying:

From 1:00 to 2:08 is golden. Its sad because Shepard is a soldier and Shepard may never settle down and have a normal life. Javik and Shepard are similar in that war has been their entire life and that they both think that they are only good at that and that war is all they know.
And Shepard in most endings never gets the chance to settle down with Liara and have a normal life.

Damn it, I wanted to 'ba-dum-tish' that.
'Ba-dum-tish' is a verb, now.

"Whats the matter Liara, feeling a little blue?"
Why does the game not have this?
How was this not thought of?

She wouldn't get it and Shepard would have to explain the joke etc. and .. it would be gold.

@shepard1038
For real.
Loved the scene, tears were shed. No idea why they cut it.
For continuity, they could've just cut the parts where he talks about his 'non-existant' relationships.

Do documentaries count in this chat about tearjerkers?

Because if so,  from about 1:04 in this film is one of the most heartbreaking things I've ever seen. Damn you Jeremy Irons!

Think how more powerful of an effect it would have had if it had been in the game. It would have made it sweeter if you could actually see that unfold, and then, after the ending itself, you would be able to watch just what Shepard and Anderson talked about - scenes of Shepard actually having a family of his own, for once. In our instance, of course, in the epilogue scenes we would be able to see Shepard and Liara together, finally without thoughts of Reapers or other imminent threats - but scenes that are just for them talking about their plans for the future. That alone would have been emotionally satisfying for me if it was actually like that in the game.

Can't see that video for some reason:

This video contains content from National Geographic, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

How nice of them.

Also, go write for BioWare. Like, now. Just push past the guards and start writing.

Haha, thanks for saying that - I sure wish I could! I'd totally try to 'persuade' them to 'tweak' some parts of Mass Effect 3, but I need to see them in person, and they're kind of far away. If I were put in charge of writing out Shepard and Liara scenes at least, admittedly, would be rather nice. No more friendzoning, at least that I can guarantee! :P

And I'm in Europe, which is why I may not be permitted to view this video - probably works in the US only or something.

She'd probably work with Javik to get you thrown out of the airlock.

I think you're going to need one of these masks to infiltrate BioWare HQ, Theo.

That, or a perfect copy of Mac Walters' hat. They will never see through it.

Is the friendzoning actually a bug or did the writer not made differences if Liara is romanced or not romanced?

I'd say it's a response to the people who were/are complaining that Liara jumps your bones as soon as she sees you.

I could be wrong but it looks like they're trying to give people plenty of outs, so they don't get "raped" by her. Seriously, in another thread there was talk that Liara rapes you with her 'gift.'

Or, you could headcanon it. Shadow Broker, Reapers, the whole 'you died' thing..

Sorry for not having any actual answers.

You just made my planning much easier, Snookie - I never thought of that!

I'd put that on, infiltrate their HQ, plant some new 'plans' for a new free DLC that fixes the ending and it contains epilogue scenes with Liara, and get them to bloody work on that!

It's a mechanic that allows you to 'lock-in' your romance until you've decided for certain, one hundred percent, that Liara is the one you want to romance. And it was intended to be that way - apparently twice, even.

This can work if it wasn't Liara who kept referring to you as her friend, which breaks the immersion of the romance scenes with her.

A fair enough idea, in theory, except that most of us here probably decided that half-way through ME1.

EDIT:
Say, no-one knows of any treasure trove .rar files somewhere on the internet filled with Liara pics do they?
I'm saving pictures from this thread, but they're no good for tops, unless we're 100 pages from when it was last posted.
Guess I'll have to spend a night strip-mining deviantart.

Can we leave Hudson and Walters alone? People already in the story discussion forums talk about them. People in the story discussion forums have even painted them as bad persons, then people wonder why they don't show up on BSN and why no Dev wants to post in BSN.
