No, not a single movie or game - very sad maybe but never tears.shepard1038 wrote...

But then I played ME3... I guess it's the difference between watching a movie for a few hours and spending maybe hundreds of hours "inside the movie" interacting with the characters.
Yeah, I too expected Shepard to die but it was done in a very different way than I thought it would be, so...screwball8 wrote...

Not a fan of the whole online/MMO thing - I want to play games my way. I don't want to waste my time with the endless grinding that will inevitably be found in any such game (MMO isn't going to work if people can ever actually finish it, so you need even more busywork).
When the incentives are this mismatched (I want a fun game, but the developers just want me to keep playing), the result is inevitable.
You should watch angry joe's reviww of Guild Wars 2 it addresses all the problems you've stated to have with MMO's. Trust me i hate grinding too, but guild wars 2 doesn't have it.

Edit to add: And it doesn't help that the story is a bit... slow in places (human: who is this noble dude, and why should I give a damn about him? norn: you're sending me on a fetch quest as prelude to a duel with a guy that beat my guy once in a pub brawl? Seriously? Who wrote this garbage?)

I get what you're saying, and agree to a certain point, but the key phrase there is "during it." It tells her how Shepard felt at that moment. But if time goes by, and events keep them apart, I can see Liara doubting herself and wondering how much things might've changed until Shepard reassures her or they can Join again and she can feel Shepard's feelings again herself.lillitheris wrote...

So, yeah, the way I reconcile that, and then her behavior in 3, is to believe that after the time apart she just believes Shepard probably isn't really interested in her "that way" anymore (maybe found someone more exciting), or that she might be dragging Shepard down at times where other concerns are way more important, and both times it takes Shepard grabbing hold of her and saying, "No, you'll always be more important to me than anything."
I dunno…even trying to entertain this theory, there’s a big snag for me: the joining. For me, leastwise, you can get a pretty damn accurate gauge of feelings during it. This makes ME3 especially problematic. In ME2 I didn’t really have that much of a problem with the way things played out when LotSB is included. Apprehension is understandable there.
I know, I know--it's not a perfect theory. But in this case, is there such a thing? Don't you have to either just have to pass it off as lazy writing (or lazy story mechanics, not allowing for a more varied "romanced, stayed faithful" version), or try to come up with something yourself to explain the "Wait--whuuut?" feeling you get watching those scenes otherwise... ?

Did you choose Control or Synthesis or destroy? Because in destroy Shepard survives. Why should i expect Shepard to die when i made every perfect decision and did all the side missions and quest and arrived with 7,000 war assets?

Oh c'mon, are you sure Shepard survived instead of just taking her very last gasp of air? The only reason I chose Destroy is because that's what I had worked towards for the whole series. For Control I have some fun headcanon, but going with what the game shows us - no thanks.shepard1038 wrote...

You don't have to expect Shepard to die, it was just my gut feeling that it would happen. War assets as useless numbers, they should've done that thing better.
Anyways, when I started the game I just somehow knew Shepard would die in the end, so her death didn't matter that much compared to everything else.

When I play that scene for the first time there was a few seconds where I thought he was going to either really hurt her, then as soon as he threw her he signed his own death warrent in my Kaelis Shepard's eyes, nobody messes with his girl, taking the Prothean VI only cemented his fate further. Untill Thessia I really disliked Kai Leng afterwards I for once agreed on Javik's sentiment ("the enemy I will enjoy killing the most")

It’s only been about 6 months since they last saw eachother in ME3. I think just the very first embrace on Mars should be enough. Or the first reaffirmation, at the very latest.
If they wanted to allow Liara to have uncertainty…then just do that. Early embrace, Liara might be hesitant or stammer a bit…and then Shepard has a dialogue option that says “I missed you so much” or even something stronger.
Easy as pie.

Yes. It is exactly that, and I must do exactly that. They wrote it like that as a conscious decision because they did not want to differentiate too much with new romances*. I know this to be the case, and—even if I found the concept compelling—I have no desire to essentially reward them by trying to pretend otherwise.
But that’s me. Like I said, if it works for you…
* Whether this is fully intentional or a desperate patch-up effort when they ran out of time, I do not know.

Yuqi, between your murder of beloved characters and intention of incinerating Liara's babies I'd figured you were just a teensy bit evil, but I suppose now you're going to tell me you picked the 'You'd only slow me down' option during that scene, too, huh?Interesting idea. It works for asari, but I'm glad humans don't do it that way.lillitheris wrote...
My asari don’t celebrate the birthday, they celebrate the day of conception—which, also, is the day the child is given a name three Thessian years thereafter (that is, about a half a year from birth).
I'm not sure I could stomach receiving a 'Happy I-Banged-Your-Mum-Day card' from my dad.
I did yes, but only for my 100% Renegade, the others are about 70%-80% renegade.

When I first got to that point, I read some vague rumors that Liara got killed on Thessia from the leaked script (Which, was actually a Virmire choice originally.) but I didn't know that, so I was kind of on edge throughout the entire mission, and that part in the gif scared me. I thought he was going to kill her for a second...

That was part of the leaked script, but I had a good feeling that they have changed it. Still, I was looking very foward to the fight on Thessia because I knew Shepard was going to lose, so I had eagerly awaiting to see how Bioware was going to handle such a dramatic moment.
I was disappointed to say the least.

Yes and no.
It was before the EC. It got replaced by the evac scene. One of the reasons being that I thought my game bugged out and Liara was about to die.
Also just watched this, it made me giggle.
