"..and now you're with someone else" would probably have been enough. She went a bit overboard, but I don't put that down to bad writing, theres just a lot of emotion going on there. So I don't see it as OOC.

I don't know; I think Liara deserves to be upset in LotSB if you cheat on her. Everyone always says how she takes it so well. That doesn't mean she's as cool as a cucumber beneath the surface; she obviously bottles up her emotions and explodes at the worst possible moment which isn't exactly healthy.

I feel sorry for her. But, then, I've never cheated on her. You go, blue! Give Shep the chewing-out she/he deserves!

Maybe the comment about Thane's dead wife in particular is a bit tactless, but I think she does have a point. Femshep jumping into bed with Thane when he pours his heart out about his wife (and is still obviously very emotionally tied-up with his wife) could be viewed as predatory by some.

I wonder if she felt bad recording all of these lines..
Maybe she wanted to quietly add in a "You f*ckin' bastard.." when then sound-techs weren't looking/listening.

Shepard is as predatory as the player role-playing them. I mean the whole Jacob thing was forced but was recorded that way, so wasn't the VA's fault.

And you can't possibly put a time scale on grieving periods. Some people deal with it quickly; other people may not get over it all all.

Garrus and Tali's relationships are better because Shepard has already known them in ME1 - they've had a chance to develop naturally, so they're hardly random strangers on the street. 

And we could go on with Mordin's view of how humans deal with stressful situations by sex. Aliens may not necessarily behave that way. Thane could well have been making a lot of effort to move on with Femshep, and Shep may not have taken the whole thing as seriously as him. Again, role-playing.

Back to blue. I don't know how anyone could bring themselves to cheat on her  

EDIT: admittedly I had a easy ride. No interest whatsoever in Garrus, Thane or Jacob. I tried to flirt with Miranda, Jack, Tali and Samara though... Didn't get anywhere obviously . Oh, and, that thing with Kelly was obviously a misunderstanding. I wanted her to feed my fish; she wanted to dance for me.

It's a big deal for Ali, she asks fans of Liara if they stayed true to her throughout the trilogy. She cares deeply for the character, doesn't like seeing her being jerked around, understandable.

No, it's more likely a fondness for the character because Liara was the first major VG role she had, followed by lightning.

Nah Femsheps whole persona reeked of someone who was inheritly predatory. Even a warm hearted loving paragon Femshep had a strong predatory feel to it.

As to the bolded part, I know that, but the way Liara said that line, kinda makes it sound like Femshep was jumping into Thanes wifes grave, as if he had only just buried her and Femshep had moved in for the "kill".

I agree with the Garrus and Tali point, a whole game as only friends is a great way to build up on.

I found a video on youtube with the cut romance dialogue between them. I remember that a lot of it was quite amusing in a sweet/awkward way.

But if Shep had gone down that route, Liara would have trapped her/him in a stasis field and slapped her/him silly until Shep was begging for forgiveness.

By ME3 - or actually after the Normandy gets destroyed by the Collectors - Liara has gone all 'the end justifies the means'.

Her comment on Cronos station when the group run into the remnants of the human Reaper suggests that she's willing - and, in fact, capable - of getting her hands dirty. I think a part of her is a little afraid of what she could turn into (the Illusive Man 2.0); but in a way she'd rather corrupt herself than let someone else do it.

Personally I think the Illusive Man forced her to mature quickly when he effectively used Shepard against her during the events of Redemption. Come ME3, she's not taking any prisoners!
