Very much so.

I'm the same way but with snakes. I had an interesting run in with a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake when I was 5 or 6. My dad figured out what I was doing, and intervened before I got bit.

In regards to snakes luckily the only time I've ever came into contact with em is in pet stores, I'd never buy one or want one. Spiders I can tolerate the medium or small variety, the big ones if I'm brave enough to face em they got a date with Mr. Vacuum, most of the time though I wimp out and just hope that they'll scuttle off somewhere else.

It's quite an amusing situation when a spider enters my home, because I really want to kill it, but I'm too terrified to get up close, and my girlfriend is even more terrified of them than I am, so there's no way she's ever going to do it...

So, usually we just hunker down in the farthest room from the one where the spider is and wait for it to gtfo....
