Liara's Illium cameo is at times cringeworthy but she does care about the relationship. She kisses Shepard but then breaks it off because she has other things on her mind, that doesn't mean she doesn't care about the relationship. She's obsessed over the Shadow Broker and only after the old SB lies dead does her obsession end. I will not allow her to become obsessed with the SB data in ME3 either, that base and all of it's data is a goner as far as I'm concerned. Naturally I'll make sure Liara is off the ship when it goes down. Come on Cerberus, attack that ship, you know you want to...:bandit:

Cringeworthy? Yep, you can say so. I was facepalming and/or cringing the whole time on Illium during my first playthrough.
I thought that Bioware completely butchered her character.

And how does a kiss fix everything? She breaks it off, nods, then sits down, forgets it and never mentions the relationship again. That's lovely.

She's so obsessed to kill the SB that she doesn't even care whether Shepard dies on the suicide mission or not.

She doesn't care about the mission in her Illium cameo. That was resolved in Lotsb. - "So if we're going to try this, I need to know you're always coming back" - Honestly basing your opinions solely on her Illium cameo gives you the wrong image. The idea was always to have her SB thing resolved in a DLC. This is also why her cameo is so incredibly unsatifsying to those who romanced Liara. Without Lotsb, the image is not complete. So instead of basing your opinions on the Illium cameo, base them on both the cameo AND Lotsb. Only then will you get a good picture of the 'new' Liara.

You must've had a messed import of a Liara romance because she definitely cares about the relationship.

How so?
Before LotSB, Liara has the exact same dialogues with every Shepard. She doesn't have anything different to tell you whether you romanced her or not in ME1.

If you went through her dialog on Illium she tells you how she retrieved your body to give to Cerberus to bring you back. This is without the DLC. If trying to resurrect you doesn't show you that someone cares then I don't know what else will convince you.

I know.

And she says that to every other Shepard, no matter if you were playing a Shepard who was a close lover or a Shepard who was completely repulsed by her in ME1.

And? You're original argument was that Liara didn't care about her and Shepard's relationship. I gave you an example of why that probably isn't true.

Never romanced him myself but I think Jacob asks shep as well at some point prior to starting a real romance with him.

Of course, Shepard doesn't even need to ask Jacob what he wants.

Remember, Shepard did save Liara from a slow death from starvation and dehydration or Tom brin captured by Saren, maybe thats why she is so devoted, just like Feron is now devoted to liara, she saved his ass, I know I will be loyal to someone who saved my life, just not as extreme as Liara is anyway, who wouldn't want a hot blue alien space babe who is really intelligent, amazing biotic powers and is always kind stalking you? You could push her down the stairs and she will smile, so naive you could say to her that is the Human way of saying 'I love you'.

Just be careful if you do that, because she might try human customs on you and push you down the stairs next time xD
She may have been naive in ME1, but she's a real badass in ME2.
I mean seriously!

I like the fact Liara kind of grows up from ME1 to ME2 and LoTSB.

She seems naiive and a bit over the top with her feelings towards Shepard. Yet when you see her on Illium she seems to have totally grown up during her search for Shepard and the Shadow Broker. But then when she starts to cry in LoTSB you see just how much shes actually hurting.

The moment where she cries is just...awwwww

Such moments are great though, especially when you can invoke a well timed paragon interrupt hug and kiss

I know, one of the best scenes in the DLC though, really shows emotion.

On an unrelated note, I found something really creepy, click at your own risk: www.masseffect2.in/_ph/2/2/873711847.jpg

I've seen some messed up things on the internet and thats right up there lol.

On a bit of a tangent, I was just wondering what everyones favourite "version" of Liara is? Obviously the colours on her face change a bit from ME1 through to LoTSB, with the pinks turning to more of a blue. So yeah, what is your favourite?

My choice is probably with LoTSB purely because you some really great shots of her and her eyes...wooooow. I mean seriously, look lol. Oh and the decision has absolutely nothing to do with what she wears in LoTSB...honest lol

My favourite 'version' of Liara is LotSB. I like her personality for different reasons in ME1 and ME2 but the look I prefer is LotSB mainly for those drop-dead-gorgeous eyes!

Some Liara hater must have had too much spare time to draw that fat Liara pic, seriously, that was just awful. I mean, c'mon, im not drawing fat Ash or Tali pics, and I reallly just can't understand these people who are making these 'dead Liara' pics and that sort of stuff... Mona Liara wasn't so cool either.

And speaking about my favorite Liara face model I have to agree with most of you people that LotSB model is the one, so far. We'll have to see what BW will do with ME3 face model. I have nothing against the current more ME1 style look, but as I said, we'll have to wait and see it in ME3 ingame. After that I can decide which one is my favorite Liara face of all time
