I meant the Can Wait series, I don't think you want to introduce her to the Aria/Tevos pairing. She mite think you're a bit weird.

Ha weird, she's use to me by now! I don't think her opinion of me can sink any lower lol!:P I'm kidding we get on really well, it helps when we have so much in common.^_^ I may send those stories her way when she gets her holiday breaks, but her free time is really limited lately with her college year just starting up.;)

@CrimsonN7
My brother still has hope for the future. He knows the ending is ME3 isn't great, from what I've told him, but I'm interested to see exactly how attached he gets to the characters before the end. I might hold off on showing him fics, for now. ;)

It's also a cool bit of perspective, watching someone on their first playthrough. He has no idea what he's in for with Ash/Kaidan, Wrex, Council etc. it's going to be fun watching someone react to those for the first time. I'm going to keep really quiet during these decisions, to let him pick his own way.

I'm also pretty sure that he's going to get 3/4 of his team killed in ME2, so I'm trying to decide if I'm going to tell him how to get the perfect ending or not. Tough choice.

BTW, I have started my realism/role play run through of the ME series, and man I forgot how long it takes to get to places if you do nothing but walk.

Maybe I'm weird, but I like walking everywhere on the Citadel. Takes longer obviously, but the longer I'm in the ME1 universe, the happier I am. Plus you get more elevator conversations. Juicy, juicy elevator conversations.
Liara/Wrex springs to mind ("Explosions are good for you.")

In my opinion, on his first playthrough let him do everything by himself.

I will. I'm going to struggle watching him pick Kasumi or something to lead the fire-team though.
So many deaths I could prevent!

@GT yep I agree with Mavqt, let him play the trilogy blind like the rest of us, it's a more fun experience that way.:) And in regards to the Suicide Mission man I messed that up royally the first time round, Kelly and the crew got juiced because I took too long before I went to save them. Miranda wasn't loyal to me because I sided with Jack, (Miranda was her personal holocaust denier in that argument seriously), I didn't have enough persuasion points to make peace between them, I sent Zaeed back with the Doc and Mordin died holding the door. Miranda died at the end fighting the baby Reaper. I wasn't aware of the loyalty and who are the best options for holding the door and who is the best option for the escort mission. Derp eh derp!<_<

However at least I didn't kill Tali like my sis did, she lost her loyalty in her mission and she sent her into the vents not knowing the system too, she was shocked when she got a face full of lead.:o

Ok here's a question what is your favourite ME2 loyalty mission?

For me it's Samara's, I just loved her in ME2, listening to her stories and hearing more about her people and her way of life.^_^ Hearing about how her daughter manipulated that young girl grrr and her victim's mom's pleas for your help damn that was so poignant.:(The club scene freakin' hilarious I loved being a jerk, Femshep's bad dancing, beating up that creepy Turian harrassing the Asari dancer, squaring up to a Krogan without fear and so forth finally leading up to the converstion with Morinth as your reward. Getting back to the apartment I was pretty worried for my Shep, that damn vampire creeped me the hell out and seeing her get on Shep's lap help help I need an adult!!!:? Her confrontation with Samara was pretty epic too, Samara is a major BAMF in that scene.:D

I did surprising well during my first suicide mission. Only Jack died, because I sided with Miranda in the fight and hadn't upgraded the Normandy's armour. She got gutted by a girder.

I'm just worried that he's going to get upset at too many people dying, and he'll stop wanting to play. It's a learning experience, I suppose.

In regards to Synthesis ugh I despise that whole nonsense, seriously if that garbage will be forced on us in the future ME titles I refuse to buy those games!:pinched: So much for our choices mattering, ah yes choices we have dismissed that claim!<_< Shep's story ends with ME3, it's a trilogy story and this has been said from the beginning so I'd be baffled if Shep is in any future games. Also I don't want to see any squadmate characters from the ME trilogy in any future ME games, seeing them without Shep would bug the hell outta me, they're so tightly interconnected with Shepard, seeing them without Shepard in future games would feel wrong and surreal for me. I would rather new characters, a new experience, the ME universe is huge, expand on it.;)

Also Welcome N7 Assass1n:wizard:

I AGREE COMPLETELY. Its either bring back Shep (Fan favourite) and several fan favourites or take a risk and try to portray another protagonist possibly losing a lot of the popularity in the series. Seems like a no brainer to me.-_-

Samara's was good. It shows that it's possible to have a good mission without shooting.

It's the same reason I liked Tali's and Thane's. Sitting the Admiralty Board on their arses with epic Paragon speeches is very fun, and so is interrogating Kelham. ("Give me a name or I'll cut your balls off and sell them to a krogan!")
Speaking of krogan, Grunt's was good too, mainly because of the chat between him and Wrex, "Good boy" etc.

Don't get me wrong, I still love shooting people, but a lot of missions boiled down to running through a warehouse killing mercenaries and LOKI mechs.

^^ And that is what I loved about ME2. For me it incorporated great aspects of combat and storyline without sacrificing too much. ME1 had terrible combat but by far the most inclining storyline, whereas ME3 has the best combat system but by far the worst storyline and dialogue system. ME2 got both of them right.

Ok, maybe that doesn't quite count but it plays out like Liara's loyalty mission.

From the main game itself my favorites were probably Samara's and Tali's. I liked Samara's mission because a good portion of it was entirely story based and didn't require any combat at all. That sort of set it apart from the rest of the pack. And I liked Tali's mission for the trial sequence.

If we include DLC Kasumi's loyalty mission would be among my top 3, for similar reasons that I liked Samara's mission. Although it did have the single worst cutscene in all of Mass Effect.

Hey, I forgot about Kasumi's. That was fun. I liked the music.

As for the cutscene, are you talking abut the super-duper-ninja moves she pulls off when she takes down the gunship's shields?

I always thought that was more 'Ninja Gaiden' than 'Mass Effect.'

That is exactly the cutscene I was talking about.

Those moves might have made sense if Kasumi was a Jedi, but they were kind of immersion breaking for Mass Effect. Otherwise a good DLC though.

Thane's was the best IMO, simply because the interrogation scene had some of the best lines in the series, lol.

Plus, Liara is loyal long before the events of LotSB.
Her LM is the krogan battlemaster fight on Therum. Especially if you choose to say "She'll stay with us, thanks."
Have you seen the confused little smile she gives you when you say that?
Adorable.

I did like Thane's as well.

It also had one of the best interrupts in the series, especially if Jack is one of the squadmates tagging along.

My favorite has to be when you pull Spectre authority.

Lawyer: You'll need a shovel the size of the Citadel to dig yourself out of this.
Shepard: My name's Shepard. I'm a Spectre. Which means I can do whatever the hell I want.
Lawyer: A Spec-
Shepard: So you can turn yourself around and get the hell out.
Lawyer: This is-
Shepard: Perfectly legal? Yep. Close the door behind you please.

For some reason it made me feel so awesome.

If you were forced to pull out your Spectre status during that scene, that just means you're a crap interrogator.  ;)
I'll admit that watching his lawyer stumble is hilarious, though.

The renegade version of that scene is also pretty hilarious, Shep can be freakin' terrifying when she/he wants to be lol! Thane quipping as you leave I think that will go down as the shortest interrogation in history! I still prefer to rough him up a bit when I get the opportunity though:whistle:

I'll admit, I messed up the interrogation the first time around, but now I do the Spectre status line simply because I like it more. Especially because the paraphrase is hilarious: I do what I please, little man.

I've always chosen "We don't have time for this idiot, CHARGE!" on Therum, and have always chosen to play bad cop to Thane's good on the loyalty mission. So I've missed out on both that smile, and getting to pull Spectre status on the lawyer. I didn't even know the lawyer could interrupt!

My fave Loyalty Missions were Kasumi's and Tali's, I loved the James Bond/Ocean's Eleven feel of Kasumi's and Tali's was well as much as i hate seeing any of my girls cry I loved the little story and shooting it out with the Geth again was nostalgic.
