Well, I can think of one major video game developer that did just that.

On a more serious note, creating art takes time, and is something that, in principle, can be sold. It would be very easy indeed to gather a nice selection, make a website, and charge people $10 a month to view it.
If you were an artist posting stuff on DA, would you want fans to be ripped off like that?

I am not good enough that I could put myself in that place but I think that I would rather show the pictures in all their wonder than obscure some of the effect for fear of it being stolen.
I hate the idea of art theft but I think that it would be a shame to let that ruin, or at least diminish, the pictures an artist creates.

Mmm... Well, I'd just slap a tiny teeny name on it so people know where to look for the source.
I think internet people knows better than to pay 10 dollars to view something that could be found for free, unless they don't, then it's really something to see.

Commissions work that way, kinda like selling fanarts.
But true, it'd be more fun to make if you don't do it for the money.

nope I agree with you,   the ME1 character model for Liara was great although i prefer the LOTSB textures out of all of the different skins they've done.

I think Eclipse of Time from Lost Odyssey can be used to describe Liara if Shepard was to (x___x)
Not that Shepard would ever (x___x) because I headcanon Shepard into living forever.

well i write mostly any stuff i do art wise normally stays in my portfolio or with my teachers although if my next watercolor project comes out even close to as good as i want i might post it up

edit:  I might splurge and get it when i pick up FIFA13 later today.  but only if i can name my guy bruce lee.  He's obviously better than Jackie
