[Han Shot First]

I have one minor complaint about LotSB:

Cerberus once again takes center stage, at the expense of Liara. The intel on the Shadow Broker should have come from Liara, and the email that starts the mission should have come from Liara as well. Instead the intel comes from Cerberus, and the email either comes directly from the Illusive Man or Cerberus High Command. (can't remember which)

Having the intel come from Liara would have helped establish that Liara was a capable information broker in her own right. Don't tell us she's good, show us. Considering Cerberus also wasn't directly involved in every ME2 squadmate's loyalty mission, I'm not sure why the writers felt a need to insert Cerberus there.

Also having the Shadow Broker email/intel come from Cerberus doesn't make any sense if LotSB was played after having completed the Suicide Mission, and Shepard destroyed the Collector Base.

Like the Arrival DLC, I don't think Cerberus should have even been mentioned in LotSB.

To be fair, I have a feeling that the text was written in a tounge-in-cheek way, in which case I guess I came off as being too hostile.

It was. It´s just Terrorize´s style of humor (or maybe there is a full moon outside).

That specific problem have plagued Liara's character since LOTSB it seems.

It would have been even sillier otherwise: Talk to Liara, go back to the ship, read her email, go back to talk to her again about the Shadow Broker?

But to be honest, Cerberus is so egregiously ubiquitous in ME2 that I barely noticed it.

But to be honest, Cerberus is so egregiously ubiquitous in ME2 that I barely noticed it.

I am sure you could have rewritten the very start of the DLC to reflect that it is Liara that found the data.

If it played out exactly like that it would have been silly.

But that could have been remedied by having it so that the Collector Cruiser mission didn't trigger until either Samara or Thane was recruited, and having it so that LotSB wasn't accessible until the Collector Cruiser mission was completed. In that case Shepard would have already visited Illium and Liara would have presumably gathered the intel while Shepard was busy on the Collector Cruiser mission.

If Shepard had already talked to Liara (likely for most players), she obtained the intel sometime after you departed Illium. If Shepard hadn't talked to Liara, they'd get a slightly different reunion, Nyxeris would already be dead (Liara having discovered that she was a SB agent on her own), and the hacking terminals mission would no longer be available.

I have no idea about that, these are XNA models extracted from the game. I think the different clothes were put on her afterwards. But Im not sure...

It didn't bother me that Cerberus sends the mail in LotSB. TIM gives Liara a lead on where to find the Shadow Broker's base of operations, but he couldn't find it himself (...or he would have sent some cerberus goons, and not Liara). Liara's data is also essential.

The Shadow Broker has been in power for decades...and it's safe to assume that Liara wasn't the first person who looked for his base. I think it makes sense that Cerberus and Liara have to combine their resources to find the him.

But "Don't tell us she's good, show us." is definitely a problem in ME3.

I'm not a fan artist myself, but there is quite a bit out there of Liara in civilian clothing.

A lot of it is stuff you'd see people wearing today and doesn't really fit with Mass Effect, and some others have her wearing dresses similar to the ones she wore in ME2 or LotSB. Of course for the latter you wouldn't need to consult fan art, since it is also in the game.

Fan art that has her in original clothing that is neither seen in game, or that isn't entirely lifted from today's fashions isn't as common. Here are a couple of Liara and other Asari that have been posted in this thread before:

I believe I have seen this one before. I think I asked the same question back then.

It does however remind me of an old classic that I liked.


Man, back when ME2 was released it made me fearful of what to expect in ME3.
