I wasn't commenting on the biological aspects of having a child during ME3, merely my preferred timeline for the events of ME2.  I agree that having a child in the middle of a war would be an unnecessary risk to take, both to the life of the mother and the life of the child.

I agree, I usually did the going after the Shadow Broker part before the SM, then did the cabin scene afterward the SM.

Both the balcony and at the SB base play out differently depending on if you to it pre-SM or post-SM.  If you do it pre-SM, Liara doesn't know you were not faithful(If you go there:?)  If you do it post-SM, she sorta ****es at Shep about the new LI on the balcony.    Just like the cabin scene plays out differently depending on when you played it.

Now I have a question, I'm one of many that has more than one Shepard.  Another femShep romanced Liara in ME, she romanced Garrus in ME2 and I waited until after the SM to do LofSB.  Of course Shep got the ****y Liara on the balcony.  Fine, she deserved that.  Liara and Shep got back together, and now Shep can't break it off with Garrus.  Did my game glitch or is there no way to break it off with him?  Liara doesn't want any problems or bickering.  Neither does Shepard.  She knows being with Garrus was a mistake, but seems stuck with them both.  I'm willing to let that stay and see how it plays out in ME3.  I thought you could break it off with the ME2 LI, but I'm not seeing that option with Garrus.    I want Liara's picture back up, but can't get it.

I think the events of ME3 take place in 2186 or late 2185.  During one of the demos with fans sending in questions for the Q&A, I thought it was stated that ME3 takes place 6-12 months after the SM.  If that is the case, it would be closer to 2186.  ME events happen in 2183, Shepard is gone for two years making it 2185.  Actual month is unknown.

I actually don't know how the balcony/cabin scenes play out differently depending on when you do them.  I only have one Shepard and I've always done LotSB pre-SM.  I thought that those scenes played out the same regardless of WHEN you do LotSB, provided you'd advanced the romance with your ME2 romance far enough.

As for getting "back" with Liara after romancing someone in ME2, I don't think LotSB has the ability to end your ME2 romance, so come ME3 I imagine you'll have some 'splainin to do!

It's not my canon femShep, just another generic Shep I created to do different things with.  Just annoyed me I couldn't break it off with Garrus after the fact.  Reason I was so annoyed is because I read that someone else had romanced Thane and Liara wouldn't go to the Normandy until Shep broke it off with Thane.  I didn't get that with Garrus.  If there is conflict so be it.  I have 10 games ready for import, so I think I have all bases coverd.

If you do the cabin scene before jumping through the Omega-4 relay, Liara will mention Horizon instead of the SM.  Same goes when she mentioned jumping into the fray when the reapers do finally arrive, she will mention jumping through the relay instead.  Post-SM the third interrupt is different.  Instead of Shepard getting snappy about the hacking Liara had you do, Liara confronts Shepard about their new LI.  Shepard just says fine like if you did it before the SM. 

Yes, I have played my canonShep wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much after doing the LotSB in September.  As a matter of fact, I'm playing an 11th canon Shep play through right now because I wanted to change one thing from what I consider my perfect story for Shep.  Zaeed won't survive the SM(she didn't like his attitude on his LM about the workers.  Leia Shep doens't kill innocents without a good reason and revenge isn't a good enough reason for her) this time and I want to make sure I tell the quarians to not go to war.

I thought the hacking quip was there if you simply didn't romance anyone in ME2, regardless of when you did LotSB?  And I don't know if I believe that Liara turns down drinks on the Normandy just because you're romancing someone else.  I could be wrong, though.  My experience with LotSB really only has taken me down the one path.  Anyone else able to confirm?

I'm curious to see how the different permutations of events in LotSB will play out in ME3.  I hope that I don't have to sit through another confirmation dialogue even though I didn't romance anyone in ME3.

You should be able to break it off with Garrus by choosing the right dialogue options. I wanted to post a link but the only vid I could find was in german and my german is bad and I don't think it was from after the suicide mission.

One of my favourite pieces of dialogue from LotSB is Liara saying "Commander are you jealous? Maybe you should do something about it". I'm pretty sure you can only get that if you cheat, which I have only done twice and not doing again!

I have clicked on every diolgue option there is and I can not break it off with him.  Which is why I think it glitched.  Those things happen from time to time.  Maybe if I start a romance with either Thane or Jacob I can, but I do not even want to deal with that. 

The jealous line is great too.  Renegade Shep gets it always. 

EDIT:@TheMarshal-I think Shep gets snippy about the hacking if you stayed faithful to Liara or never romanced her in ME.  I would have to do that over to confirm it.  

I just read about the Thane thing, which I did find odd too.  I am not 100% sure on that.

They'd certainly be running the show, but probably not with an iron fist.  I imagine Shepard/Liara would have raised them better than that.  Though for some reason I envision my Shepard's first daughter would wind up being a dancer (ballet, not exotic).

well you've obviously never met my femsheps aproach to tact and diplomacy then. If LotsB is any indication, liara has been greatly corrupted by her influence.

And she'll insist that they all refer to her as dad. The one who will eventually have traits from both her human krogan AND asari ancestry will be truly terrifying to behold.

One of the reasons I love RPGs so much. So many ways to do the same thing and get different outcomes. Can't beat that.

@tobynator89--I believe my femShep along with Liara would raise their children to do the right thing. Whether or not they actual do the right thing is another story.

@TheMarshal--I don't see the first child doing that at least in my story, but one of the younger kids could be an actress or something along those lines.

I think she brought it up sorta in the DLC when she asked if this all ends tomorrow what happens to us.  If that type of comment was to happen again in ME3, would you consider that Liara brought it up and Shep just responded to it?

I wouldn't really put much into it. Since Arrival can be played after Horizon, it's a safe bet it really happened 6 months ago, either before or right after the suicide mission. The 3 months thing is probably something a journalist made up himself.
