I believe TIM provided Shepard with the base information in an effort to procure the base for himself, using Shepard and Liara in the process. Should Cerebrus attack the base and threaten Liara with Shepard defending Liara then that would explain why Cerebrus and Shepard are at odds in ME3.

Actually, Liara obtained the location of the SB base through the course of the DLC, Cerberus/ TIM had nothign to do with it. What is plausible is that one of the crew on the SR2 could have relayed the bases general location to Cerberus afterwards. The base though is still a ship, one that can move to another location should it's location be compromised.

This was taken from a non LI Shepard playthrough, but it says the same if Liara is Shep's lover.

Ceberus knows, I RP as Miranda sent the misson report to TIM out of habit even though she quit Cerberus.

Thanks for clearing that up.

The point of my speculation though was that Cerebrus attacking the SB base for the purpose of acquisition I believe will be the game mechanic used to pit Shepard against Cerebrus and also to move Liara from the SB base to the Normandy. Not sure what will happen with Feron

You're welcome.  I was gone for several hours and had several pages to go through. 

You are not the only one that thinks it will be Cerberus going after Liara at the SB base.  There doesn't seem to be much else in that system for the Reapers to go there and if the Reapers are starting at the bottom of the galaxy map, then it will be a while before they get to Hagalaz.

Plus if 40% of the enemies are Ceberus and if Liara is with you early in the game, that is another reason why I think Cerberus is going for the base.  TIM will use Liara against Shepard just like I think he will use Oriana against Miranda.  She tell him to stuff it.  Which is one of the reason I always take her for the final fight during the SM.

I think TIM already used both Shepard and Liara to locate the SB base. With Shepard on trial and out of the picture TIM has an opportunity to make a move on the SB base and expect little resistance. I suspect that when Shepard escapes Earth after the Reaper there will be a message from Liara saying the base is under attack from Cerebrus troops. I think Liara will escape and possibly blow up the base either with or without Shepard but she'll have salvaged vital information about the Reapers which she'll bring with her to the Normandy.
I think her information may have something to do with the Planetary system where Jacob had his loyalty mission as there is planetary data suggesting some race arrived there without using mass relays and one of the planet's records were deleted from Citadel records. Prothean ? There we might find some method of fighting the Reapers with a greater chance of success.

Do you think they were in love, or just giving into desire? Did you even like it? Were there things you were unhappy with?

I choose to view it as a developing romance that began shortly after first contact, mutually identified during the first few conversations, where they both realized there was something very strong and powerful between them, more powerful than both of them realized, enough for them to agree to back off lest they loose sight of saving the galaxy but not so much as to deny themselves completly. I view them as soulmates.

shepard has so much power over life and death in ME2, part 3 is gonna be a mess if its anything like that. im not sure im ready to start thinkin about why cerberus is after shepard. im still not sure what imma do with the CB if femshep isnt playing the girlscout card

my latest dark shepard just showed up on horizon rockin cerbrus black and gold just to ****** off ash

this femshep is more ruthless than usual, lil more free w/ the bullets. shes headed to illium to get samara and [hopefully] stays paragon enuff not to go terminator on everybody. the middle act will leave scars but theres plenty of points to keep her from killing everyone on the SM, just the usual suspects

I never noticed that I just played the DLC last night.  Might have some screenies I can look through.  I took a bunch from it.

Hmmm.  She did mention during the shuttle ride that the base was hard to find unless you knew where to look.

It's interesting reading what people come up with for their Shepards. Maybe describe their personality, obviously their feelings for Liara and history?

I think Liara is smitten w/ Shepard at the beginning and the mind melds reinforce that connection.   And even though all the ME1 potential LIs like Shepard at the beginning, only Liara comes right out and starts something.  (Kaidan drops not-so-subtle hints and Ash plays hard to get, IIRC).  I don’t know if they are in love during the mission, but they both have a definite connection.  One of the things I loved about the romance was how femShep (Never romanced Liara w/ a maleShep) admitted her feelings to Liara.  It’s like she’s fighting the feelings, but she ultimately gives in. She’s like, I don’t need this, we could all die tomorrow, the mission is too important or whatever, but she does give in and thus becomes a little more human.  And for Liara’s part, she’s smart, she’s sexy, she kicks ass, but she also has this childlike enthusiasm that shines through all the gloom.  Though my Shepard is a paragon, she is also very cynical and I love the contrast of the two.  It’s been argued that a month, which is all Shep and Liara have between ME1 and ME2 is not long enough to fall in love.  I disagree and while the seeds were definitely planted in the game, I like to PR that that magic month is when things really started to happen for them.
 
As far as anything I don’t like about the romance, it was that it built up too quickly, but that was a fault of the game as a whole, not the one romance itself.  Ninjamanced!

As an aside, I had a femShep who hated Liara in the beginning.  Just hated her guts.  This Shepard was a very private person and did not tolerate people she thought as whiney.  I have to admit it was rather fun playing that opposite way and arguing w/ Liara for half the game.  After Noveria, this Shepard developed a huge amount of respect for Liara and the two eventually became best  friends.
