Anyone ever try going the stasis bubble route instead of singularity as her main crowd control ability?

I tried it a couple of times with both a Sentinel and an Adept play through, but didn't like it that much. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, I just prefer Singularity. It suits my play style.

I actually spec out of Stasis now and go for Squad Warp Ammo instead.

I never use her stasis like ever in ME3, i just never found it very useful. To me its always been one of those powers you throw at something that you cant handle at the moment or something. ME3 is kind of stupid and there is not really any situation like that.

Singularity is just so much fun i dont know how i could drop it. Plus how could i not give Liara the most powerful thing in the game...

Although lash on something in stasis makes some crazy biotic explosions... so maybe i should look into this.....

I use her stasis on Phantoms, very helpful.

I've romanced Liara in all my playthroughs, and as an Australian, decided to switch to Miranda in ME2.

When Shepard asked whether they'd work in ME3 as friends, she took it well.

Then again, she has some humorous if not distressing dialogue if you decide to cheat on her. Which is why I won't.

Her conversation with Matriach Aetheyta is golden though.

Golden.

As for Liara usage, I don't use Stasis, mostly because Singularity + Warp get's rid of stuff faster.

Warp Ammo ... well, it depends if Shepard has an ammo power or not.

True. But her Squad Warp is useful if you take Tali/Edi/Javik along with Liara. Gives them a damage boost to their weapons.

And I like to mess around in the Arena. Liara paired with Samara/Miranda's Reave is awesome. So Squad Warp comes in useful there too.

I encourage you to give it a try :) It's all in learning the patterns... well, that and sticking to cover a little more often :P Of course, having an imported, level thirty character helps a lot. It's a little harder than Normal, but not all that much and it's all worth it once you get that Insanity achievement. For me, Insanity is the only way I can play ME3.

I suggest vanguard or engineer for the first try. Both make it incredibly easy. With vanguards, it's all about charge-nova combo and engineer is great at comboing with herself.

I will probably try it. I started a new trilogy playthrough a few days ago with a brand new FemShep sentinel (I haven't done a full trilogy playthrough in over a year).
I've never played that class in SP...and I also plan to use some squadmates I never really used before (when Liara is available I will still use her, of course^^). Ashley in ME1, maybe Jacob with his "the good stuff" in ME2 ^_^

That bike is far too big.

Of all the things on those pictures, you notice the bike?!?

You're such a geek :P

I think I know what you mean, but if you'll allow me a little nitpicking...

AdeptShep also has access to singularity. She doesn't have access to stasis. To get it, she must talk to Liara. So, Liara is the only one with stasis and she can teach the Shepard to use it.

One could make argument that stasis is more powerful than singularity. I realize this is somewhat of a personal bias, but I wanted to bring it up nonetheless.

I would like to know how you build Liara in your games. I usually develop WA to level three on her and go all the way to stasis bubble. But I'll admit, I never considered the chance of biotic combos with it. It... intrigues me.

If you ever need help, or simply encouragement, don't be afraid to let me know ;) I would like to think that I have some experience by now, though, ironically enough, not with sentinel.

Also, new one from Asarimaniac. And damn, is it ever a hot one

I am not sure what you are seeing in Stasis on Liara. The cool down is atrocious compared to Singularity and Warp. The bubble doesn't really accomplish much since her Singluarity can lift a Guardian, no need for the bubble there. (This is one reason Liara's Singularity is actually better than Shepard's. That and insta-hit.) I suppose you might find a few choke points here and there where the bubble might come in handy, but I can't think of any off-hand. There are usually enough unshielded enemies that her Singularity will almost always be useful. I would hate to be in a place where I was waiting on her Stasis to cool down so I could use her Singularity. As an Engineer or Sentinel, you could do the shield stripping with overload, then have Liara use Singularity. As an Adept, I go with Area Reave to prime shielded enemies and then follow up with a Throw (double Throw if I have gotten to a high enough level).

Maybe I play too much as a Sentinel to really see the need for Stasis, but I just can't get around that long, long cool down. Personally, I like knowing that whenever I need one of Liara's powers, it will most likely be available.

I used stasis in my last run. It was fantastic.

Group of Marauders? Oh well, now you can't do sh*t/

I played a sentinel with Javik so I didn't need her singularity at all. Slam + Lash all the way. Though honestly, my ME3 playstyle has turned into:

'Hmm, lets see if this works'.

And it turns out everything works in ME3. EVERTHING.

Well i was thinking that story wise singularity seemed to be the most powerful and rare as well.

Here is what i was going for, in ME1 Wrex, Alenko, and Shepard also have stasis.. So i assumed it was a "fairly" common power. Singularity on the other hand is something only Liara gets through all the games. No other squadmates get that, so i figured that only Liara in her awesomeness was capable of doing it :P

Shep of course can do anything because well.. its shepard..

(Also gameplay wise in ME3 my view is slightly warped by the amount of time ive spent in multiplayer... its sort of a breeze to play through on insanity without worrying about squadmates..)

This is the main reason (the long cool down) I spec out of her Stasis.  I also love playing the Sentinel in 3 where you'e got shield stripping powers plus biotics. Combine that with Liara's Singularity and Warp, it makes Insanity easy.

I'm currently playing an Adept in 3 and with Liara (I aways take Liara) it's just constant biotic explosions. Good times.

But as for Stasis in ME3 I don't bother with it. 1 or 2 points in it and you can immobilise 1 enemy and then have a long cooldown. Even the bubble evo, which you have to rank up to 6, it's very situational. I'd rather put those points in Squad Warp to give my squaddies a bit of extra oomph! to their weapons.

Just the way I play.

She saved me quite often when something manages to sneak on me. Pop that bubble on top of it and shoot it. And frankly, I was never bothered by the long cool down. Maybe I was just lucky with dice rolls, but she seems to score that extra power quite often. She's especially handy when seeing engineer... stasis, first on the menu, followed by dead engineer.

Guess I just like it, where you don't. I tried going for Warp Ammo, but didn't saw much difference, so I specced back into other powers. Never regretted it.

When you put it like that, it makes sense. But ever since second game, Stasis was also Liara exclusive. Of course, Alenko can reave now :P

And yeah, playing MP can definitely alter your perception of SP and it's alleged difficulty.

Now see, squad warp I haven't gone yet. I may try it with my sentinel, when I get around to it.

You're not exactly what I'd call fan, when it comes to Liara... why even be here? Not that I'm trying to tell you you can't... just curious.

Everything looks great on Liara :) Though personally, I prefer her CE armor most...

I actually like combat armor with pauldrons. It looks combat-oriented as opposed to more civilian look of LotSB armor and it doesn't stretch unrealistically at some angles. The Alliance armor has that weird effect when it's getting stretched and skewed at certain head positions (most noticeable on shoulders). The pink/black one is my least favorite due to that Samara-style headgear :)

The armor that was part of the From Ashes DLC is probably my favorite. The one from LotSB would be a close second, though I agree that they all look good.

My only gripe (and it is a minor one) is that none of them have helmets.

I don't know, looks too... medieval to me. You're right in that it makes the most sense, but I just can't dig it.

Plus, Liara's more of an eye candy in just about any other armor. And I'm not ashamed to admit that it matters to me :)

Speaking of armor, I kind of wish Liara's armor from the comics would have made it into an appearance pack:

What?!?! Heresy! Do you know just how cool it looks when Samara and Miranda hop on the final platform as we head off to fight the human reaper? It puts a smile on my face every time seeing them dressed up in Gucci for the most crucial firefight in the game. You can't save a galaxy if you don't dress for it!
