Hello to you all!  For my first post here, I would just like to say on behlaf of Her Indoors a big Thank You for all the pics and love out there for her; there was certainly plenty of bouncing after she stumbled across this forum.

 

But back in reality.....on only my fourth playthrough and yet again I tell myself "Play it completely differently", but no the moment Liara's name is mentioned I'm like a man possessed, and everyone and everything else can just bleep off because Liara comes first.

It took me a long time to appreciate Liara for anything more than being aesthetically pleasing. In the first game I found her saccharine voice quite irritating and I didn't find her naive, clumsy way with words and awkward social interactions endearing. Compared to Ashley who felt real, Liara came across as simply existing for the player because she definitely is the path of least resistance.

 

I always like to see character developement and Liara's change from mild archeaologist to grim Shadow Broker is one of the best developments in the game.

Welcome to all new people... both of you Always nice to see fresh faces and more Liara fans. Also Gearinator, I'm totally getting you for that picture The first one's nice though So I may not get you after all.

 

So this may be slightly off-topic, but hopefully you guys won't mind. I've been playing a lot of multiplayer lately and no surprise, asari rule. Grace, beauty, efficiency... and they are pretty damn deadly.

 

Which is your favourite asari? And why? Can't be the ass, they all have great ass But feel free to talk about it a little... I'm interested to see what people think and play.

I would say the Justicar is my fav. Pull, Reave, repeat. I also like setting up offensive bubbles. Rush in close, pop a bubble, pull back and start Reaving. I also like my Vanguard. First Vanguard I unlocked (besides the vanilla humans). Grenades for turrets, stasis for Phantoms, Charge for everything else.

 

My least fav are the Adept and Huntress. I don't do infiltrators, the Adept's stasis is slower than I like for setting up combos. Valkyrie is OK, but I would rather have Throw than Warp, though I suppose that would make her too much like the Fury.

I like them all as you know, Mordokai. 

But my fav is the Valkyrie (as long as it's a good Host). She gets in close and wrecks everything. And you've got the greatest dodge for when you get too cocky. It's save my a*s more than a few times.

 

But the Huntress is very close second. I like to use her with my beloved Particle Rifle with Warp Ammo and just melt everything.

 

The Justicar is also a great kit to play. Full offensive bubble and drop it at choke points or over Bosses and vrww vrrwww Reave everything.

 

I would like the AssGuard more if I had a better connection or a guaranteed good Host. She really is a powerhouse kit, but there's nothing worse than having a laggy game and dying all the time from 'not charging'.

 

I don't mind the Vanilla Adept. No fitness (or just 3 ranks) and full maxed powers make her pretty damn powerful. For me.

 

I love em' all.

 

 

That's close to how I colour my Asari kits, though some have blue instead of purple.

Well my personal favourite, Valkyrie no matter what difficulty  you play on the Annihilation field has saved my ass more than once, also have just an M22 equip means that the gun damage is pretty good and also the warp cool down is fast, combine that with her Tech armour and your nearly indestructible if you play her right. 

 

Now not meaning to change the subject but I found this and thought that some of you might want to make a Liara

My own two cents...

 

Vanguard is the weakest of them all, as in, she only has her weapons and grenades to deal with armored opponents, which are toughest in the game. However, this also makes the most badass! I spec her out of Stasis and focus on grenade spam, for happy splodey time. I want her to be the first one with which I solo Gold and she has been pretty successful so far. Haven't managed to do it yet, but getting there slowly

 

Adept was my first asari I took for playing. As such, she has a little nostalgic feel to her, but sadly, she is overshadowed by most of her sisters these days. I still enjoy playing her, but compared to other asari, she's a little bland nowadays. A powerhouse though and capable of wrecking some serious ****. I usually give her three or four ranks in Fitness, because I'm scrub I also started giving her Claymore and damn girl... you hot

 

Justicar... no use for Pull. At least, none that I could find. Biotic Sphere is neat though and really fun to juggle around with. She is a powerhouse, like every other asari and quite fun but I think she's my least favourite one.

 

Huntress, the heavy weapon expert. Be it Claymore, Raider, Javelin, Widow... she handles them all like a pro. The fact that she can use any weapon and engage enemies from any distance, plus her OPed DC makes her my to-go to kit if I suspect I'm gonna have to carry the game. She is also pretty much the only infiltrator I play, but she is sweet. I really love her.

 

As for Valkyrie... I never hid my admiration and love for her. The combination of TA, AF and Warp make her a powerhouse, capable of ruining the day for just about any faction. With TA specced for full DR, AF for Drain and full Fitness, she's pretty damn tanky. It's also so much fun running between trooper and watch them panic, only to blow them up with biotic explosion seconds later I lately started experimenting with TA detonations and it just adds another layer of fun to her. Risky, but fun. Wouldn't try it on Gold, but much fun on Silver.

 

I think she's much more challenging to play properly than Huntress, since she's very much high risk, high reward character. But she is and will remain my favourite.

 

My personal headcanon for her is that she is one of the few asari who can manifest AF. A genetic disorder of a sort, if you will. She is extremely powerful biotic user, but her body burns faster than it would when she uses it. Effectively, every time she uses AF, she's chipping away the years left to her. A sort of tragic character.

 

Not like anybody cares, but felt like sharing.

 

@Gearinator: nice find I may actually try putting that puppet together.

From old to new:

 

Adept - She had and still has the best utilizable* Combo for powerful detonations Warp+Throw, but is also easily sabotaged by the worst foes of multiplayer-gaming: selfish teammates who Keep overwriting her primes with weaker tech- or in the worst case ammo-primes, 3rd.

 

Vanguard - Out of character (Charge is not how asari tactics are described, Vasir was a spectre and therefore a exception) and awkward skillset, last (5th).

 

Justicar - Also a bit awkward but not as much as the vanguard, i prefer to use the bubble for defence and rely on assault rifles for damage, 4th.

 

Valkyrie - Tech armor offers defence and also offers a damage-Bonus, AF+Warp is often easier than Warp+Throw due to Tech- and Ammo-Primes (but weaker detonations), get in AF-range + Warp and run away if needed, best (1st).

 

Huntress - Comparable to the Adept, better damage through ability-effects but weaker detonations, strategical Advantage through tac-cloak, 2nd.

The AssGuard is a powerhouse, but Bosses can be a pain. Take Power Synergy (Rank 5 evo in Biotic Charge) and all Damage in Grenades. Charge first -> then grenades. With a Power Amp for even more damage. That's just one way to play.

I'd play her more if I had a good host. 

 

Anyway, Liara's going to be in the next Star Wars movie.  As a Sith/Shadowbroker.  

 

 

Or maybe she's just really p*ssed at Shepard for some reason.

So having ploughed through a fair few hundred pics....err pages, just one question....Am I the only one who has thought "If I ran my fingers through the gaps in Liara's 'tentacles' and tickled here underneath, what would her reaction be, if any?"

Adept -  Well the adept commando will blow everything apart with BEs and an acolyte on gold, in plat she will continue that just as well but with a collector smg it works better because of what you are fighting

 

Huntress - put the wraith with smart choke on her and dark channel and just shred away. sort of squishy but she will kill everything so it doesnt matter. just stay in the background.

 

Justicar - i generally play her with the bubble and collector smg and just reave and pull junk, unkillable on gold, and still a good tank on plat, great team support with reave and the bubble.

 

Valkyrie - put the venom on her and you can just run around the maps on plat destroying everything, the big stuff is slower but thats what the rest of the teams for. using this i actually run around the maps looking for phantoms because they are so easy and fun to launch into the heavens.
 

Vanguard - The vanguard is amazing with a claymore smart choke and nade build, charge groups and nade them, shoot survivors. you can shoot half way across the maps with just the claymore and kill the big stuff, or nade all the groups of small stuff. this kit obliterates everything on plat.


They are my favorite and most played kits though, so i might be biased on their superiority since i have alot of experience with each one.

I would care, but I don't believe in god and I don't think its creepy, this is creepy. (Mordokai stay away, you know what one it is)

I think this has a bit of fridge logic to it, maybe even fridge brilliance. You expect a krogan, a batarian, a human... hell, pretty much anybody to come charging at you. Not the flimsy asari, though. And when that does happen... boy, are you in for a surprise. And a grenade to the face Maybe that's why vanguard is as deadly as she is... after all, nobody expects an asari vanguard
