Thats a fair point, although arent the models done by a Japanese company? You just need to look at the majority of games to come from Japan (particularly their fighting games). It's just the way that things are sold. Whether it offends or not, they like to picture women as having breasts bigger than their head.Ophiskc wrote...

But romance, specifically? I think she cared deeply for Shepard, not just because of the above, but because Shepard was someone special to her. Someone she was willing to spend the night with, despite not really knowing him. Someone she was willing to shared herself with if the galaxy ended tomorrow, and thanked him for it. Someone she respected, and believed in. If it wasn't love, it was out of friendship and respect. What they were was simply never discussed. But she cared for him. That's all that mattered at the time. Same for my Femshep.
Will it develop into more for your Shepard's in ME3?
For my Maleshep, it already has. He missed her after ME2. And she missed him. I think they wanted to be a couple, and in some ways, they already were. People even started seeing them as a item. They just never discussed it. They never gotten the chance. And then Shepard died, and came back. He didn't know if she moved on, or if he should moved on. He didn't know if she loved him, or still loved him. He didn't know if he should bring her back into his life. Heck he didn't even know if they were really a couple in ME1. And when they met in ME2, they seemed like complete strangers, while at the same time, felt like a separated couple meeting each other again. And on Liara's side of things, the first person she ever shared herself with died, and she didn't know how to deal with it. And then suddenly, he's back. She wasn't sure of a lot of things. Are we a couple? Should we be a couple? Do I really want to go through all that crap again? Is Shepard even the same person? Will Shepard hate me if he found out I gave him to Cerberus? Does Shepard even still care?
But after LOTSB, they wanted to be together. They know they want a future together. And their feelings are now completely out there. Even in the original version, where Shepard was with Tali, he wants this to work. He knows what he really wants, and ended his relationship with Tali, because he wants this to work. He wants to prove this will work. And in the newer versions, where he's loyal, he still wants to prove to Liara that this is worth fighting for. That he wants a future with her. Marriage, old age, and a lot of little blue children.
While with my Renegon Femshep, it's completely different. Liara might feel roughly the same way, but my Femshep doesn't. She didn't love Liara. She simply used her. When Liara was talking about how she thinks Femshep is special, my Femshep was thinking "Whatever gets your pants off faster". The night meant nothing more.
And when she died and back, she didn't care to see Liara. She felt like "It's a new life." Does she feel something for her? Yes. But she doesn't love her. She was just another girl. It wasn't meant to be serious. And when she does visit her, she only helps Liara because she's in the area. Originally she told her, "I don't have time to hack terminals for fun".
However, despite not really caring, something keeps pulling her back, and making her visit. But again, she doesn't love her.
Which is why I mess up the date scene when it comes to her. I didn't want this character to have another night with Liara. I wanted Liara to walk out on her. I didn't want this character to tell Liara she's always coming back. Because honestly, the only reason why she was loyal was because their wasn't a hooker on Omega to screw. That's how loyal she really was. Another night would just be more lying to get Liara to sleep with her. So I wanted to punish the character. I wanted her to be reject. And if she does really want to be with Liara, she has to earn that love in ME3.

To be totally random....I want a lithograph of Liara in her LoTSB gear

Ugh the draw looked much better, she dont look like Liara, the breasts are too big and the face is just weird
I'll just have to go with it's simply the nature of the anime/manga style. Personally; I can see past the style and still appreciate this statue. Believe it or not; it's still not as bad as it could have been.
For instance; they got the crest spot on.

What I find really irritating is that the proportions are all wrong.
Her legs are too long
Her waist is too thing
Her breatss are too huge
and her head is too small
I can keep going but I think everyone got the point.
I mean, here's a Liara made of paper, and she has better proportions then the statue
Great reasoning to get people to buy it right?
That, honest to god, should be the official name of that statue. xDrobtheguru wrote...

I'm not even sure why they chose to go for an anime style with this statue to begin with. Is this kind of art we're going to see in the ME anime movie?
They won't they can't... that would be foolish beyond belief... please no!
I need to see a trailer or I won't pay. End. Of. Story.
Also Kadzin's idea of naming the statue "Boobs sell", I approve!

I mean the depth, even from the first game alone is crazy. The sheer amount of backstory and the quality of all the races amount to so many possibilities. I just wish this planned movie wasn't based on any of the games stories but was its own unique, non-Shepard based story.

I just hope its taken seriously and doesn't end up with those moments where characters mouths and eyes fill the screen and the giant drop of water next to their head thing. That would cause me to go rather insane.IndigoWolfe wrote...
I just hope that Ali Hillis gets to voice Liara in the ME anime --should she even be in it. I don't think I could bear the high-pitched actors that are usually obtained for such things.

From the concepts I've seen from Funimation so far for the Dragon Age anime, I don't think that kind of anime stylization is likely.

I'm suprised Mass Effect had taken till its 3rd iteration to actually spawn an anime/tv series/movie.

Making a movie or tv-series about ME games or even about one of them would be the biggest and stupidest mistake ever, because you just can't make this 'one size fits all' kinda movie about ME. There are as many stories as there are players. It would maybe fit those who have never played Mass Effect but for us fans, no way. That non-Shepard thing you mentioned would be cool though, for exampel movie or tv-series about the first contact war, at TIM's point of view maybe, something similiar to the comic?

Thats ok then. I quite enjoyed the Dead Space anime movies, albeit there is a bit of a difference between that and Mass Effect lol

The sad thing is the ME movie is confirmed to be based on ME1, hopefully it doesnt feature any of the main characters although chances of that are slim to none.
A TV series would be amazing if done properly. C-Sec would be an interesting perspective and you have got a spread of races to look at. Although following a Human Spectre would be interesting.
