There might be something to that, but Rila and Falere both had facial markings and nearly all the Asari wandering around the Citadel, Ilium and Omega have no markings at all (in ME2 anyway). Like Detective Anaya, that Asari on Ilium who loses her bondmates locket, Matriarch Aethyta and the Synthetic Insights rep etcetera.

 

But that's just lack of detail by the devs I expect. 

 

Good point. I had forgotten about Rila & Falere having facial markings. Scratch that theory about the lack of them being linked to pureblood status.

 

I do wonder how it is that Asari can immediately recognize it, but like you said that lack of detail is probably just a dev oversight.

 

 

 

 

But what puzzles me more is the different colouring, like Tevos has bright white, Aria has purple and Lt Kurin has pink! Pink? Wtf? Or is that just make-up a.k.a 'warpaint".  Or do the Asari have some residual type of chromatophores from a distant aquatic ancestor.

 

Or maybe I'm thinking too much about this.

 

Anyway we need more frekcles. (I'll have to make that into a sig.)

 

Speaking of coloring...

 

Most Asari have skin tones that are various shades of blue, but we've also seen a minority with other skin tones like purple. I wonder if their skin tones are inherited similar to human skin tones, and whether for example purple was more common on a particular continent on Thessia...or whether it is more similar to human hair color, and two blue Asari could have a child with purple coloration.

So, a good friend of mine (and an ex) asked my why the blue scaly one and not the brunette with the huge butt?  Went through the list: eyes, smile, voice, intelligence, wit, strength and independence...her response in the most sarcastic of tones "so nothing to do with pervvy alien fetish then?" As the saying goes "Welcome to my life!"

Asari *can* reproduce before the Matron stage. When they enter the Matron stage, they *want* to reproduce.

 

And the evidence also suggests Asari can reproduce in the Matriarch stage as well.

 

Reproductive maturity in the Asari probably happens around twenty, thirty at the outside. Any longer, and they'd have been wiped out early in their evolution.

 

Further, there was a note somewhere in the dialog or the codex that frequent melding could also trigger the Matron stage; that it wasn't 'time limited.'

Asari seem to be considered adults at sometime between 40 and 60 years old. Liara starts her career as an archaeologist at 56 years old, so she would have most likely left home for the University of Serrice in her early 50s. There is also an Asari on Illium that can be overheard saying she is 60 years old and finally moving out of her parents house. The way she says it however might indicate she remained with her parents a little longer than is usual. And finally Samara says that Morinth ran off when she was in her 40s, though she also notes that she was very young at the time. 

 

Given all the above I'd guess that Liara probably left home at around the average age for most Asari, Morinth a lot earlier, and the Illium Asari a little longer than is usual. The way Samara talks it is also possible that Morinth was the equivalent of a teenage runaway,

I wouldn't consider nudity to always be pornographic. That can either be tasteful or tasteless. It varies. Pineappletree's stuff is a good example of what I mean.

 

But anything NSFW should at the very least be spoiler tagged.

i wouldnt either. there are a lot of pictures where liara is nude but not slutty, and i dont mind them.

I make no apologies. Yeah, they were over the top. And yeah, probably in poor taste. At least some of them. I could make reasons why I think they fit in the topic, but seriously, as said many times before... I'm a perv. I make no secret of it. If anybody doesn't like them or feels offended by them, there's that neat little button in the lower left portion of every post. Make use of it. No hard feelings whatsoever

 

To be frank, I'm surprised I haven't gotten any warning yet... But, as a peace offering, have some more tame pictures of out favourite archaeologist.

Assuming the leak details are legit, one unfortunate consequence is that we won't be visiting Armali in the next game. I was kind of hoping that would show up as a hub at some point in the series.

Illium was one of my favourite hub worlds in the entire series It felt really alive and vibrant. Citadel in the third game was really well done... but for all the details and everything, I still loved Illium more. It felt, for the lack of better word... organic.

 

Seeing Armali would be nice, I agree. As a bonus point, depending on time frame of the game, it would be perfect time and place to put an easter egg concerning Liara. Something as obvious as her statue, or something much more subtle, like a page from her journal, with no signature, but something that would let people who have played a previous trilogy know what they're dealing with.
