I like my characters to have a good mix of light and dark myself. I don't see her as Snow White and she realizes, like Shepard, that not all roads are clean and pure. I just hope that whatever she went through doesn't have Bioware take her down a real ugly road.

I'm looking at you CHud!!!!  Image IPB

She was honest about what she did and that she would do it again. Where I struggle is was her quest honorable to start with? She wanted absolute revenge against the Shadow Broker and that concerns me. It left her so focused that she even left Shep's butt on the concrete without a look back. Does that concern my Shepard? Yes. Revenge is a poison and I hated that she was consumed by it.

But until ME3 is released I won't know if Liara (romanced or not) is closer to the light then the dark when all is said and done. I am hopeful that she will be in a better place. God only knows what all she did in the 2 years while you were gone. Image IPB

Liara being truthful about what she did doesn't make it right. I'm not arguing that this is OOC for Liara or that I dislike her character because of it, I'm just saying that her progressive moral ambiguity seems like foreshadowing for something in ME3. I hope Bioware will at least touch on this.

If Shepard had gotten shot or smashed against a wall with biotics I think Liara may have acted differently. As is, he/she only suffered a small tumble, so Liara made the right choice by not going back for Shepard. Vasir could have gotten away with Sekat's data otherwise, and then they wouldn't have been able to find the Shadow Broker's base...of course that didn't stop my Shep from getting snippy due to embarrassment. :?

I only ever play male Shep so would I be right in guessing there is some sort of Anders DA2 like situation between Femshep and Jacob?

No...it's nothing like that.

Imagine your Hawke (who I'm assuming is male and straight) uncontrollably flirting with Anders.

Then it would be similar.

After LOTSB does she have a reason not to be? I think you can rest easy. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

I am fairly certain that she is back on the right path. But until the game is released I will stay ready for anything. As long as the end chapter (ME3) is solid storytelling I would even allow her character to go down the dark path, although it would break my Femshep's heart. Her end up like her mother. How frickin' horrible.

Is it March 2012 yet? Image IPB

I have faith that they will not take that road, they already tried to fix the Illium cameo mess up with Lotsb, and i think they will just make it good for ME3, is the same Lotsb writer taking care of her after all.

I have to admit, that when i fall out of the window with Vasir and Liara went after her, i wasnt pissed at all, i was like: "Yeeaah go girl!!"

I don't think questioning a character means that you don't like them. I get angry at the characters I love. Image IPB

Liara has no idea how Shepard is when she focuses on Vasir and I think it highlighted her focus & determination... I found it kinda sexy but also "Hey! I am laying on concrete here!"

I think she cared, but she has a very logical mind, the mission needed to go on, to break down or to stop and think about it wouldnt have helped

We weren't given any hint that she cared at all. If she really did, when Shepard confronts her about it, it would've been simple to add in something like "I didn't want anyone else to die because of me, but it's done. Let's focus on the mission." She just admits that she got Sekat killed for the information she needed, and she would do it again.

And Shepard's response to that..."That's Vasir's fault."

The fact that Vasir pulled the trigger doesn't mean Liara isn't at fault as well. She knew that if she got Sekat involved in her business, the Shadow Broker's agents would come after him. Liara pretty much admits this.

Because her admitting that sometimes you need to preform some sacrifices does not mean she is cold. I am sure someone of Shepard position (no matter what kind of morality) knows about it.

That's true, but you need to keep Liara's goal in mind. She's going after the Shadow Broker to rescue Feron (a single person with little importance, pragmatically speaking) and for personal vengeance. Does this justify the collateral damage? It does not, in my opinion, but it wouldn't matter to me if Liara showed some remorse, since she never intended for most of the destruction and loss of life to happen. Unfortunately she doesn't, which is pretty much the definition of "cold".

Every Shepard gets snippy if you do the 2nd interrupt.

Here is a pic of Liara's face during that scene but before she said, "I knew a little fall wasn't going to kill you."

That's not what I was talking about. With regards to Shepard I change up canon a bit in my imagination. For instance, my Shepard doesn't introduce herself as she walks into a batarian interrogation room with recording equipment. Also, she doesn't yell "OMG LIARA IS IN THERE" like a ****** as that office building explodes. Not to say she wasn't shocked and worried, but she generally avoids stating the obvious. When she fell after tackling Vasir, she grumbles internally at Liara while picking herself up and giving chase.

Yes and she looked guilty and almost child-like when she said it. But considering that my Shepard and Liara have been arguing since they met on Therum ... it was cute to me! Image IPB

Not so much though to my Shepard. She was still pissed!

I didn't appreciate being forced to cooperate with Vasir, personally. I knew she was up to something the second I saw her. I felt like she was mocking me the entire time, especially with that crappy play-acting she pulls after Sekat dies.

I wonder if Liara's comment about starting a war in ten minutes flashed through Shepard's mind just before restarting the 'project' in Arrival ?

Paragade Liara.... I like it.

When she was chasing Vasir down after Shepard fell and just tossed those SB troops aside like, get the f*** out of my way, that was badass!!!!!!! I was like; Oh Liara you rock....

I don't think Liara's morals are totally comprimised but the fact that she has some 'red' mixed in with the 'blue' suits her, Shepard is similar. They make a great couple.

Or Garrus:whistle:

@Pockles
Me either, but my Shepard didn't want to work with Cerberus either.  Some choices are out of our hands and I'm okay with that.

This did make me

liara tossing those guys aside was totally bada**. i try to rationalize the situation by pretending she caught those troopeers off guard but it doesnt work, theres no way talk around their sheilds being up and make sense

i really wish ME games had a 'surprise' mechanic where biotics work against sheilds and barriers when you catch bad guys not payin attention; that could balance the adepts need to be bada** and still work on higher difficulties

i play hardcore or insanity 90% of the time, only crank it down for the CB and horizon [i hate scions and collectors especially when its close quarters and shep has no where to hide and recharge health and sheilds

My personal favourite was when she pwned Vasir.

Vasir: Thermal clips on the ground now! Powercells too.

Shep: *Drops Clips*

Vasir: Amma gonna- *dhum! gets disarmed.*

Really how does an Asari "specter" get disarmed like that.

Or

Vasir: Drop it!

Shep: Is that the best you got!

Vasir:What!

Shep: Vasir is sacrificed hundreds of humanlives to save the Asension. I unleashed the Rachni on the galaxy so for your sake. I hope your best plan dosen't hinge on me shooting a dame target!

Vasir: Your blufff---*smacked by a table*

Nice!  I knew she had made her Shepard hand puppet.  Didn't realize she had gone and made a Liara puppet too!
