Hello fellow Liara lovers!
After catching up with this thread, I figured I should join in the fun, with an introductory first post.
Shockingly, I do not have a ME1 file (that I imported into ME2) where I romanced Liara.
Currently, I have two ME1 files that I've imported to ME2:
- A 100%-complete (no DLC) file, with Ashley romanced, and stayed loyal to her in ME2 (which is also 100%-complete - including the LotSB, Arrival, Overlord, Zaeed and Kasumi DLC)
- A not-100%-complete file, with no romance, where I romanced Tali in ME2 (which is 100%-complete - including the already-listed DLC)
I also have a few ME1 files that I didn't import to ME2 (including my very first playthrough, where I romanced Liara). (And I have a few ME2 files that I won't be importing to ME3).
I've always loved Liara's character, I just never made a playthrough that I wanted to import, where I romanced her.
After taking a break from the Mass Effect games - to buy (from Borders) and read the Mass Effect novels and finish some other games (Dead Space 2, Portal, Portal 2, and last but certainly not least Duke Nukem Forever) - I've started to meticulously play through ME1, to make a 100%-complete - that will be imported to ME2 (where I will make another 100%-complete file, that will be imported to ME3) - where Liara is my LI.
I must say - I am loving Liara more and more, for two reasons:
- because I've been creating my 100%-Liara-romance playthrough
- I've been catching up with this thread (thanks guys and girls!)
Out of curiousity - Does anyone have a song that they imagine their Shepard playing for Liara?
My Shepard would play Faithfully by Journey, because some of the song's lyrics are my Shepard feels for her.
Examples:
- "They say that the road is no place to start a family" - My Shepard wants nothing more than to settle down with Liara and start a family, but first he wants to make the universe a safe place for Liara. So, while there will be some love-making, my Shepard doesn't want children until his mission is complete.
- "And being apart ain't easy. On this love affair, two strangers learn to fall in love again. I get the joy of rediscovering you." - After being dead for two years, my Shepard sees that Liara has changed a bit. Since he still loves her very much, my Shepard needs to briefly "rediscover" her (since her personality is a little different from when he last saw her, two years ago).
OFF TOPIC:
Even though the game is criticized rather harshly, I loved playing Duke Nukem Forever! While clunky at times, I still found it to be very enjoyable and entertaining and I'm looking forward to the next Duke Nukem title!
Has anyone else played it?
Sorry for making such a long post.

Lol not sure although if you look at the image full size you can see that they've added scales or whatever to parts of the body other than her head which I think is a really nice touch.

ME2 has a tendency to have poor lighting too so that might have added into it.
Scratch that I actually looked at this pic (liara) and Liara's teeth are surprisingly low poligon in this picture, compared to how amazing the rest of the model is this is kind of sad as it was obviously cut or overlooked to meet the deadlines
I never did answer this yesterday. No, he won't play Mass Effect. I keep telling him he needs to play it. He did play both Dragon Age games and liked them both.alex90c wrote...

Is it march yet?
Here is the way I look at it. I have 5 months, 29 days, 8 hours, and 21 minutes.
That's when life ends and Mass Effect begins right? ...Or wait, is it the otherway around, that's when life really begins?
haven't figured that out quite yet...
He doesn't like Mass Effect himself?
I'm sure at some point he's asked why you've played the cabin scene so many times as well

He knows why I played the cabin scene so much, but I gernerally played it when he was at work or in bed. It's my guilty pleasure.

To be fair, the teeth are something that are normally shown for extended periods of time.
Yea, I'm a bad bad person. He doesn't care. He thinks it funny because he is one of those players that never bothers doing the romances. Where I am just the opposite, I always do the romances. And I normally do a game for all the romance options, but I never romanced Merril.Lizardviking wrote...

Cheating on your husband with Liara when he is away hmm?

Yea, I know. I like doing them. Even in Fable series, I always tried to get my character married as many times as possible. Once spouse per city. Too bad in Fable III, they ruined it for me by only allowing two kids per house. I was working on big family in Fable II. I had a two wifes in one area. It was fun watching them **** at each other, but since I was able to keep both happy, neither one divorced me.Lizardviking wrote...

I do also most likely wind up doing a romance in a Bioware game. I feel it is one of the few areas of a Bioware game where you can explore a different side of the main character, or atleast show them in another element so to speak.
There seems to be a sentiment that romances in bioware games are silly in the sense that they are just fanservice. Wasting resources and distracting from the game itself. But when you kinda think about it, alot of the stories that we like (star wars OT, Lord of the rings films) did have elements of romance in them.

BioWare does a good job with the romances in general. I think the Faux News, oh I mean Fox News going off about Mass Effect and the blue side boob, made BW tone it down. I suppose those that complained about Mass Effect didn't bother to check out Witcher 2.
