I gave a good explanation on that thread on why I think your theory on Liara having hubris is off.. Why bring it here?

I wonder just how much they're going to include about the romances in the next game. Humans use things like romantic entanglements and mundane activities to distract themselves from the awful crap all the time. It would be concievable that Shep and Liara would have serious talks about kids, marriage, whatever the equivalent is for asari, and all that stuff. Especially since, unlike the other couples they've already worked out most of their "Oh no one of us might die soon! (for realz this time)" stuff.
I just hope they keep the LOTSB dinamic in M3 also, with the banter and personal conversations. Im just a little worried that because Liara will be a key character in the next game, the conversations in the Normandy could be more like "i found important data that could help us: against the reapers/reunite the galaxy", instead of personal things
I personally would love to know what kind of hobbies does she have

the lotsb dlc ist just incredible, expessialy if you played me1.
full of emotion, nostalgy and action.
i wanted to stick with her... until talis loyality mission.
i didnt manage to reject her after these conversations. i just couldnt.
it probably would have caused my hearth to explode.
tali doesnt seem to care about the relationship with liara
i guess ill have to bear the consequences in me3

Nah, she doesn't...which is kinda weird...but I guess Tali is bad at reading humans? IDK.

its not weird at all since lotsb is a dlc concentrated on liaras story and more or less seperated from the rest of the game.
changing the romance system and adding new dialoges would create additional input and expenses.
it adds up from the economical point of view

I have a feeling she will not overlook cheating Shepard in ME3 though. And neither should Liara. I do think Liara would handle it like an adult though, giving Shepard one chance to choose either her or the other. Though in truth no LI matches up to Liara so it should be an easy choice.

Tali and Liara will leave Shepard and become a couple in ME3.

Shepard will be forever alone.
Sorry I couldn't help myself.

That'd be an awesome consquence for cheating Liara with Tali! That'll teach cheatingdouchebag!Shepard a lesson.
Liara: Shepard. We need to talk
Shepard: What do you mean...?
Tali: Hear that Liara, he doesn't know what you mean
Shepard: Tali! You too?
Liara: Did I mean that little to you?!
Shepard: No! Liara I l...
Tali: Then what about me Shepard? Did you actually care about me or did you just want to see what I look like under this helmet?
Shepard: No I... I care about you as well
Tali: That's really sweet Shepard but I'm not buying it! Besides, there's no need for all this.
Liara: Right, let's go Tali.
Shepard: But what..
*Liara and Tali grab eachother's hand and walk off, leaving Shepard alone in his quarters, sad music plays*
I'd pay 1000 credits to see that!

Naturally after spying on Shepard for a while (I'm sure Liara would spy on Shepard in her off time as the Shadow broker) she'd notice if Shepard were still with his/her ME2 romance. I'd imagine misusing Liara's trust won't make her too friendly in ME3. And we've already seen what happens to those who wrong Liara so I doubt it will be all too pretty.
On a slightly different note: Is it just coincidence all romanceable characters you can cheat on (Liara, Kaidan, Ashley) are guaranteed to be alive in ME3? Therefore making it more likely to suffer a plot endangering consequence for cheating? Kaidan/Ashley can be killed yes but if you were in a romance with them then this is terminated upon their death and it won't be considered cheating.
Since both the VS and Liara play a major role in ME3, cheating on either of them could very well have dire repercussions like BioWare stated it might.

On the other side the devs probably have something in mind considering the lenghts they went to have players go to a new LI. VS and pre LotSB meetings where really badly written, and with Liara it was quite easy to miss the dialog explaining her behavior.

Do you suppose the tips of the headcrest on Asari are ticklish? It seems to me like they would be. This opens up the possibility for a fun paragon interrupt if Liara is your LI:
Liara: Hello, Shepard (hugs him)
Shepard: (lightly pinches tip of one of the fringes)
Liara: (squeels and giggles) Shepard!

It is weird that neither Tali or Garrus will make any comment on Shepard's (possibly) former relationship or atleast raise a "I thought you and X were together" during the main-game. It is understandable why they don't have squadmates say anything during the DLC due to various reasons.

Again, if the devs wanted you to cheat, that would be in the way. I would think the ME2 LI would worry that if Shep can cheat on the ME1 LI, then s/he could also cheat on them.

That is true and is the reason why they did it. It is just from an in-game perspective that I find it strange that neither Tali or Garrus says something about it.

Especially Tali and Liara, super weirdness, I always thought they had so much in common, that they liked each other.
ME3 will be so awkward.

Sadly when plot and character behavior clashed in ME2, they usually went for plot. IMHO, that hurts the story with so many instances of OOC behavior. I stopped reading most comic books and Star Wars (man, was Legacy of the Force BAD) because of that. I hope this doesn´t happen too in ME3.

ME1 LI vs. ME2 LI, I can picture that. But Garrus and Tali against their former crewmates is so weird for me, because I like to picture them as friends. Not best friends or close friends, just friends.

If they go with everyone is bi, maybe the consequences could be the LIs ditching Shep for each other. At least it would be hilarious.
