I have pre-ordered my collectors edition for my Xbox. I think the only difference between the two is one is just a download the other is the actual dics. I'd rather have the discs, so you can get all the goodies that come with it. Book, lithograph, patch, and comic.karmensandiego wrote...
Hi peeps!!! Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!! You people are awesome!!
Anyways, I'm still trying to catch up, I'm on page 238. But I wanted to come in and ask a quick question. It might be slightly off topic and better suited for another thread on the BSN but frankly, I'm scared of the rest of the BSN. I've popped into a couple other threads and some of them are really mean and kinda viscious! And obviously crazy, can you believe there are people who actually HATE Liara? Clearly that calls their sanity into question. :innocent:
But you all are really nice and respectful so hopefully you'll answer me OT question and I'll post a Liara pic at the bottom so its still slightly on topic.
Anyhoo, I've been looking into preordering ME3 of course and I've noticed there's two special editions, the Collectors Edition and the Digital Deluxe edition. I haven't been able to tell if there's actually a difference between the two, they seem to be the same price. But does one come with content the other doesn't have? What's your opinion on which I should order? Thanks!!!
Have some Liara!
*snip*
I could be wrong. Hope this helps.
Thanks!!!
It said it came with a lithograph of male and fem shep I think so I'll probably order that so I can get the lithograph plus all the goodies and books!

I have a copy of ME2 for Xbox and PC. But only ME1 on Xbox. I'm still debating about ME3 on PC. Do I get it in March or wait until the price drops. I've already preordered CE for my Xbox. That is where nine of my ten Shepards are.Cdr.Janne wrote...
I'm a PC gamer. Maybe one day I'll learn how to Mod, will be fun to change things a bit. Ugh Overlord, didn't have time to check that one yet...
I am being a derp with the profile picture, I can imagine how bad I would screw up my ME2 file by modding it.

So I'm sending the link of a quick Liara drawing I did while ago, using pencil. It's based on a wallpaper someone did; no big deal...Critics welcome.
Edit - removed the link as the image is now bellow lol.

I will stick with the PC version, even if I will buy a x-Box soon. Even if ME is not a pure third person Shooter, I'm always amazed with people who rock insanity with the X-Box controler. I need the precision of my mouse.
But don't fear to try out modding. You have to remember only one rule, make backup of every file you change!
If something goes wrong delete the old file and copy the original one.
I can't even play Mass Effect 2 without turning of Depth of Field and changing the mouse sensitivity.
I mean LotSB is so dark, you can hardly see Liara's face, it's so annoying.

Same here. I've tried playing 360 or PS3 at my friends, but I just can't aim or control the camera angle with those damn mushroom looking thumb sticks. It's always the same thing, when you're for example sniping "yes, I got him in my sights, just a little bit to the left and it's a perfect headshot" *slightly pushing thumb stick to the left* "aw ****!" *crosshair jumps 3 meters left insted 3 millimeters* And with PC almost every game has same default keybindigs (WASD keys and stuff) but with those consoles it's always, hey before I start palying this Halo3 online, would you like to tell me what each of these buttons actually do? Or maybe I'm just so used to this mouse + keyboard combination IDK...
@Cdr.Janne
That is one helluva piece of artwork! Wish I could draw that well, I can draw something but not in a thousand years anything like that. Nice work!

I think difference between the two versions of the CE is that all the real goodies (artbook, Normandy litho) in the digital version is well... Digital.
Frankly. If I am going to buy the CE edition of something (and I am) then I will want the real deal. Digital copies are all fine and dandy and pretty practical. But you do not buy the CE because it is practical, you buy it because Mass effect is bloody awesome and you are a huge nerd about it. I would want my Normandy litho to be real, so I can proudly put it up on my wall. Not just have it be a dull digital picture stored on my computer.
Sorry. But I just cannot see the appeal of a digital collectors edition.

I can see the appeal for those who only buy games on steam or whatever other services are out there. A digital collectors edition would be bought solely for the additional in game items. I however will be going for the physical collectors edition, as soon as it's available in my country that is...

But without a real tin box, art book and litho. Then it just do not feel like a collectors edition. More like "expensive edition".

These dialogues were made before The Lair of the Shadow Broker was produced. I gives alot of insight to Liara. And what was originally planned in the game.
LOTSB on the contrary to popular claims was not created because Liara fans B*tched and complained. It was already planned way back during the creation of ME2. Not as Liara fanservice.
It also seems to be a major spoiler.
An explanation of why Cerberus may be after Shepard in ME3. The explanation can be found here.
Accordingly Liara was strong enough to openly challenge the broker.
Some unused Audio form Lair Of the Shadow Broker DLC.
Yes, cerberus helped Liara cause they were eleminating a rival.
Its pretty interesting

True. You'd be paying an additional 20 or so dollars/euros.. whatever for what is essentially a very expensive alternate appearance pack + bonus robotic dog. Super expensive DLC actually...
@Dariustwinblade
The whole Shadow Broker thing was always set up to be part of the main game. The Illium cameo was supposed to be a lot longer at first as well. Though either because of time constraints or the fact that Lotsb has nothing to do with Shep's mission, it was taken out and later released as DLC. It's one of the reasons why the Illium cameo was so incredibly unsatifsying, they removed 2/3 of it when it became apparant it would not be part of the main game, then put about 1/2 of it back in during Lotsb.

I know but now I have something for the haters who says Liara gets preferencial treatment by having a DLC. Now I can say that the DLC was part of the main game.
Also what do you guys think of Liara's explanation of why the collectors want shepard's body.
It could be the same reason why cerberus is after shepard.
Legion said Shepard's code is superior, this is what he meant.

Comments suggest that Cerberus is not really after Shepard. It is just that their agendas clashes.

Indeed. During E3, Casey stated something like: "It appears Cerberus is working with the Reapers. Whether that's true you'll have to find out during the game.". Surprise surprise, Cerberus has a different agenda. My money is on trying to stop Shepard from uniting the other races, reducing rasism between species to a minimum and destroying the fundings of Cerberus.
The collectors wanted Shepards body because Harbinger told them so, plain and simple. My guess is on running some tests. Harbinger by that point already decreed humans would make for a good Reaper and ordered the collectors to start abducting humans to turn into Reaper goo. In the meantime he wanted Shepard's body, the one person who prevented Sovereign from succeding, to see what made Shepard so special.

No I meant. Why the collectors want Shepard Liara explained that. So cerberus attacking Shepard may be for the same reason.
All those files that did not make it into the game can be considered non-canon. We do not know why the Collectors wanted Shepard's body. And we did just answer why Cerberus is attacking Shepard. Their agendas clash against each other, simple as as that.
