An explanation of why Cerberus may be after Shepard in ME3. The explanation can be found here.

Accordingly Liara was strong enough to openly challenge the broker.

This sounds like the original plan was to not have Liara take over as the new Shadow broker. Rather, in this version, she only took the data after the broker was killed and left the network for what it was. Then she proceeded with killing the rest of the Shadow broker's operatives.

Its cut content, but more cannon than fan made speculation. I maybe explained in me3. And a better explanation to why the reapers wanted Shepards body.

No it is not more canon than fan speculation. And how is speculation considering canon to begin with?

Regarding the cut dialogue, it could have been cut for a reason so the writers aren't restricted with their storylines. It could be a hint or just a dead-end, we won't know for another 6 WHOLE MONTHS! DX

I know but now I have something for the haters who says Liara gets preferencial treatment by having a DLC. Now I can say that the DLC was part of the main game.

Also what do you guys think of Liara's explanation of why the collectors want shepard's body.

It could be the same reason why cerberus is after shepard.

Legion said Shepard's code is superior, this is what he meant.

Personally I'd prefer having the haters go on believing that Liara fans have the devs on speed dial. It's more fun that wayImage IPB

About Shepard's genetic code; I've always found it curious that Sha'ira, Shiala and Liara all of whom 'sampled' Shepard's DNA became quite interested. The Collectors or should I say re-engineered Protheans aside from following Harbinger's orders may have retained some genetic memory and saw Shepard as a link to their Prothean origins, a way back perhaps. In any case it seems there's something special about Shepard that we'll hopefully learn before it's all over.

God it would be a real epic kick in the face if Bioware made Liara betray Shepard in M3 for some hidden asari secret agenda plan that was setup from ME1.

Ok maybe its all the vodka and funny cookies I have had but what if? Maybe all this time it was about some strange spiritual biotic mind meld that everyone in the galaxy seems to want from shepards body/spirit/energy force..

Must be something special about shepard since he/she is the only hero to end this fight andeveryone wants to either disect or destroy him/her.

@zingro;

Nah; Liara told Shepard way back when that she cared beyond a fascination for a genetic code.

Liara is also not your typical Asari, she's unique and special as well. She loves Shepard regardless of any unique genetic code. Anyway what's wrong with being attracted to superior genes. Isn't everyone wired that way ? She wants awesome kids, so does Shepard.

Indeed. But if she did betray Shepard and I'd be forced to kill Liara in ME3... I'm afraid I won't ever be finishing the game:mellow:

Liara would never betray Shepard, ever ! There is absolutely no reason in the universe for her to do so. Zip-Zero-Nada. Liara is the one and only one person Shepard can trust completly. As far as Liara is concerned Shepard is the greatest treasure there ever was and she knows everything there is to know right down to a genitic code.

TEACH ME HOW TO SHADE CDR. JANNE

Thank you for all kind comments :) As said that's the image of a wallpaper I tried to capture, and basically is how many practice (using charcoal) to learn shades and lighting. As I don't draw regularly, sometimes Idk what is wrong, and that happened yesterday...My advice is try and try again :)

I'm sorry I lost the post, but someone's having problems with ME2 too dark?
Create a back-up of Config before apply the changes then try this:
Go to your .../Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 2/BIOGame
Open Config, open GamerSettings.ini (with txt app)
In the list, bellow [SystemSettings] write DepthOfField=false , Save.
Run the game to test. Hope it helps, I fixed this way.

About DNA, hope they explain in ME3 why the Collectors, actually Protheans modified by the Reapers, were doing experiences with humans, maybe then they will explain about Shepard.

Well I think the Reapers made the collectors so they can interact with the population, it would be strange to see Reapers at Omega bartering for Humans.

It's comforting to see I'm not the only one who prefers to use mouse + keyboard for controls. I really suck at using any controller, doesn't matter what type of game I play on a console. For shooters I always manage to miss my opponents even when they're ridiculously close by. Often meeting the exact same situation korkki just described..:pinched: I was playing GTA IV on an xbox some time ago and I couldn't even drive a car without crashing for a few minutes. Thank the godess for mouse + keyboard controls...

You are not alone ... I posted this on another thread shortly after I went from PC to XBOX.
I still play on my laptop when I am away from home and I do like it better.

__________________________________________________________________________________

This banter was heard in my head when I went from playing Mass Effect on the PC to the XBox ... As in trying to get used to the different controls.

Scene: Fight on Feros with Tali & Wrex as squadmates
Wrex: Shepard, the enemy are over there!
Tali: Shepard, stop bumping into me .... and why aren't you shooting?
Wrex: Shepard, where are you walking to? We are in the middle of a ...... "
Tali: Oh, Keelah! Now she is shooting the rocks!
Wrex: Shepard, I think the rock is dead ... now can you focus on the geth!

Scene: Fight in Synthetic Insights office with Tali & Liara
Liara: Tali, why is Shepard shooting the chair?
Tali: Maybe you should ask a rock on Feros.
Liara: Shepard, the enemy are over there!
Tali: Shepard, stop bumping into me!
Liara pushes Shep into bullet-ridden chair, takes away weapon and goes back to fighting as she stands between Shepard and the enemy.
Tali: That was a little harsh .....
Liara: Someone had to save the furniture.

I agree, Liara has a strong sense of commitment, she helped Feron after 2 years and with Shepard would be the same. And I just remembered, really dumb I know, but my Shepard asked a drink and it was poisoned; after recovering one of the aliens said 'another human would have died' or something like. Is that a tiny hint about she being different from other humans or I've the conspiracy fever? :P

Very nice image pf17456, your work?

Unlike you the artistic talent I recieved from my ancestors is limited  to an auditory rather than a visual realm.

The oil painting was obtained from an old ME2 thread and the artist did several portraits of various ME characters, all of which were quite impressive but I only managed to retain Liara's. The rest were lost to me when my computer crashed.

You've got talent and perhaps should consider doing some Liara/ Shepard interactives if you've got the time (no pressure )
I liked your drawing

Shepard is genetically unique and has some special qualities that we'll likely all get to discover but I don't think that means there's a conspiracy involved. Shepard is afterall the central character in the story.

I like to RP that when Liara told Shepard she couldn't let her/him go she also knew deep down that Shepard was the only one to stop the Reapers.  That was another reason she gave Shepard's body to Cerberus.

Liara's seen the same visions Shepard has.  She is always with Shepard on Ilos(How you not take a Prothean expert with you to a Prothean world is :pinched:).

That batarian bartender didn't last longer after Shepard walked back into Afterlife.  And Shep didn't even have to pull their gun.  The turian killed him for ya.

I suppose I am in the minority here.  I play better with my controller than I do the  mouse.  My keyboard hand is fine, I have problems controlling the mouse and I struggled through the bypasses on PC.  The slowdown upgrade you pick up on Illium helped, but before that I struggled bad.(Thought about quitting and not finish, but I had LotSB dowloaded and I muddled my way through Horizon and got the upgrade and kept going.)   I don't even need to buy the upgrade on Xbox.  I always get the hacking upgrad though.  Even though I had no problems with the hacking on PC.

I went back to my Xbox playin my single femShep who's an infiltrator.  I played a soldier on PC to get use to the shooting again.  I haven't played any type of shooter game since 2002 on PC.  It's been mostly point and click type games.  And I noticed how much smoother I control the sniper rifle on Xbox.  Thumbs smooth, right hand not smooth.

Pretty much hinting at the fact that the renewed Shepard from ME2 is pysically a lot stronger than a normal human and has unnatural resilliance to such things. Not only was the poisoned and survived but the med during arrival said that in order to keep Shepard down, she had to increase the sedative dosage every single time she administered it. And still Shepard woke up even though he wasn't meant to...

Considering the kind of torture driving Shepard did while in the Mako, I'd have thought him getting his license to drive one would have probably been the thing Liara regretted most

Then again the kind of maps we had to drive around in were just ridiculously steep.

My laptop is a Gateway gamer so I use the touchpad, no mouse. Much easier except when you have to scan the dang planets. No matter what you use that is just yuck!

Back on topic: If Liara go against Shepard I would think that the reason would be valid to the story. Maybe she knows that Shepard is or could be indoctrinated? Who knows. It seems every LI thread has the same worries, well with some even just worried that they will see their LI more than just a "hi Shepard!" At least I know that my Shepard(s) will spend plenty of time with Liara/Ash ... not sure about Miranda though.

We Liara fans are in a much better place than others. I am hoping that all LI's get their fair share though. After ME2 and what Liara/Kaidan/Ash fans got I know how much it sucked not being with you chosen LI. Image IPB

No I meant that with Shepard getting his license he could finally properly drive the Mako without crashing every time

At least us Liara fans got Lotsb and even before that, left Liara on good terms. Can't say the same for the VS. That email they got definitely doesn't make up for all they said on Horizon me thinks..
