Given the choice between the Mako and the Hammerhead, I'd pick the Mako.
While the Hammerhead is fun to drive, its armor is too weak for my taste.
Also, I like the Mako's weaponry more.

Out of curiousity - who did you save on Virmire in your "canon playthrough" (or, if you have multiple "canon playthroughs", who do you save more often)?

I saved Kaidan. (I play as a MaleShep, by the way.)
While I like both characters, a non-romanced Ashley doesn't seem as friendly as Kaidan.

My canon femShep saved Kaidan.  No reason in particular.  He was with the bomb and Ash was with the salarians.  I wanted to make sure the bomb went boom.  So, Shepard saved Kaidan.

I have tried to make sure I was even in saving Ash/Kaidan.  Ten different Shepards and I have split the VS 50/50.  Only lost Wrex once.  Ash shot him and then she got left behind.

My decision is always based on a coin toss ...

Male Shepard: This made this playthrough pretty on edge until Virmire since he loves her. Thank the stars she won and was sent with the bomb.

Female Shepard: Kaidan won the toss.

I'm doing my canon playthrough now. I'm going to save Ashley because I have my own little backstory that I like lol. Ashley becomes very smitten with Robert Shepard, however he only has eyes for Liara and as such she confronts him. It just makes all her racial outbursts have more meaning behind them in my eyes.

I always save whoever is the opposite of my Shepard's gender. It feels more symmetrical that way.



Anyone seen this? Looks to be Liara/Shepard centric, and it's pretty neat, so I thought I'd share.

Must admit, now that I'm used to it, I prefer the Hammerhead. Jump, shoot, rinse, repeat. I think I've been hit all of 3 or 4 times. It's massivevly fragile, but the Geth are awful shots. Just keep moving and you're generally fine.

Is that an actual dialogue or did you make that up?
I never hit a proximity charge on all of my playthroughs, now I feel like I missed out

Hit two proximity charges. You get that dialogue.

Nothing happens even if you hit all the charges.

I saved Kaidan too and even my reasons are pretty much the same as yours. Even if Kaidan was little boring he was nicer and friendlier than Ash, IMO at least.
