I usually do that as well but then I put the name 'Shepard' behind it and I want it to sound natural and good. Many names sound cool but then I put Shepard behind it and suddenly it doesn't sound as nice any more. Maybe I'm just a little too picky about Shep's name since you never hear it but still. Taking names from Star wars might work. Han Shepard. Luke Shepard. Both sound okay. Leia Shepard... can do. Obi Wan Shepard... not so much, though maybe if we can give Shepard a blue omni blade in ME3...:o

One Leia Shepard is enough.  ;):D

I have Leia Shepard, Mara Shepard, Jaina Shepard.   Only my femSheps have Star Wars names.  Shepard I just made them up except for Varric Shepard.

I named one of my Hawke's Liara.  :D

Liara Hawke sounds rather nice actually.... I have to remember that one for later. Strangely enough I prefer MaleShep to Femshep but I prefer playing LadyHawke in DA2...

ETA: Finally got around to start ME1. Took me 1,5 hours(!) to actually create this character...

I thought taking 20 minutes was long enough.

Yes, Liara Hawke is a nice sounding name.  Hmmmm....Wonder if I should create a Liara Shepard and romance Liara.  :P

Good job! :wizard: So I assume you managed to find a decent name for your Shepard even if there were something like trillion names on that list :D or did you even use that site after all?

I did use the site, thanks a bunch for mentioning it. After careful consideration I named my Shepard 'Joey'. Always hard to find a proper name for Shepard but this'll work just fine... Almost finished Eden Prime now. After that it's citadel time until Shep gets granted the Spectre title then it's off to Therum of course... Some things never get old.

@Ladyvader

I've learned not to rush through the CC and before clicking the finalize button, check your character from all possible angles. I always seem to manage to mess something up with Shep's cheekbones or something else that makes his face look really weird in game, forcing me to remove the character and go back to the CC. I'm just really picky with the characters I play with and I can't stand going through an entire 35 hour game with a character I'm not 100% happy with...:pinched:

One time I played through Origins and then imported to Awakening, and it was only then that I realised I'd made an ugly character...

One thing I dislike about ME1 is that it's practically impossible to make a decent looking FemShep as well <_<

As for who an unromance Liara would go for...  She could do a hell of a lot worse than Miranda Lawson.  *cough*Feron*cough*   >.>

Lawson's far from the worst Cerberus has to offer, but she's still an apologist for monstrous crimes against sentience. Do not want.

Miranda is ok in my book, she was the one that closed TIM's link at the end.

It has made me realise though that within the context of the game they're not really that appropriate considering you're meant to be rushing to find the Conduit rather than getting bogged down going all over the galaxy solving every little problem, lol.

Exactly! Right in the middle of a crisis... But I do solve all problems to gather XP, $ and help my squad.

You people talked so much about the Hammer, I installed all the rest of the DLCs (but Zaeed) to test. And...for now I'm a Mako fan :)

I got the impression that Miranda hasn't seen a project that was truly unethical...before ME2 (Jack's loyalty mission). She even goes as far as comparing Cerberus to the STG. I think that's why she resigns from Cerberus.

Well, I like the pairing...^_^

I always manage to mess up my characters's cheekbones and stuff in DAO, I have never managed to create a character that had a smooth looking face so I know how you feel about your characters:pinched:

Even though I only have 1 femshep character, it wasn't easy. Initially I made a black haired femshep to create some kind of femme fatale Shepard. It wasn't until I was about 10 hours into that playthrough that I figured I wanted something else. Made a blonde Shepard after that (What can I say, I like blonde) and played through ME1 and 2 with her. I'll probably change her a lot for ME3 again...

@CDR.Janne

Nope, no difference whether you have 95% or 100% paragon. Depending on your total renegade points, you may still be unable to resolve certain situations (jack/miranda fight) even if you have 100% paragon....

I'm curious, are you guys doing sidequests everytime you are playing ME1 again? Or just main quests? I can easily beat this game even hundred times a day only if I'm doing just main quests + of course friends talks, but sidequests, on the other hand... I hate it :D

No, I don't do all the side quests or the DLC in every play through.  One exception to that is I always do LotSB.  Gee, I wonder why.  Image IPB

I should add, my canon femShep does everything.  Other Shepards are a bunch of lazy bums.  Both games.  You do noitice the difference when you don't do everything in ME1.  Which is why I have stuff undone in ME2.  To see the difference in ME3.  To me that's the best part of this series.  The little things that are there or not depending on what you did the game before.

Well I haven't always done every little thing, but nowadays If I start a new playthrough I do everything and it was the same thing with my latest ME1 + ME2 playthrough which I'm planning to start playing ME3 with, I did everything I could. I even checked from ME wiki that I had done all possible missions whether they were big or small, I've done them all. It took me almost 40 hours to finish that ME1 playthrough.

Every time I do another playthrough of ME1, I do so with the intent of importing the playthrough into ME2 then ME3 finally. So I do every single assignment apart from the smuggling thing for the hanar on Noveria, too much effort and smuggling is beneath Shepard imo. Not only that but I visit every planet I can and even do the mineral scanning, prothean data disks, matriarch writings, turian insignias and salarian id tags fetch assignments every time I do a new ME1 playthrough.

I actually made a word document listing every system in ME1 so I can cross them out 1 by 1 when I've visited a system and checked out the planets so I don't miss a single one...

Same for ME2. I make sure every assignment and mission is complete by the time I do the derelict reaper mission. After that I only do Legion's loyalty mission and then head for the Collector base. After the SM I only have Arrival left and then the cabin scene with Liara.

So how often do you play? Or how many Shepards do you have?

Totally agree on that.

Also about the LotSB. I actually enjoy it more than the original ME2, so you don't need to tell me about that. :D

*grabs notebook*:? I have seven imported from ME1.  One is a ME2 default.  Guess he is my pure renegade or as pure as it can be.  I created one from Genesis.    Then I have one Genesis created Shepard on PC.

I only have ME1 on my Xbox, so I play most of my games on console.  I've done one play through on PC.  I've logged in over 1000 hours and counting.  I plan on one more canon femShep run of ME-->ME2-->ME3 starting in Feb.  Have to get her ready to kick some Reaper ass with Liara at her side.

My vanguard/soldier profiles did almost everything in ME1, others were solely to practice within the main mission aim and level. When I want a good profile to import, I go for the side quests. Takes hours to finish. In ME2 same plus LotSB, I'm still learning about the DLC's (as it didn't matter much) to see if is worth a restart, or create another new profile. If I do, will be from ME1 going through all assignments.

Same, the only I couldn't find was an Asari artifact, and an Alliance mission against the Rachni, the one the Mako gets attached to a generator, I couldn't figure. The colonists I'm still trying to save all 16, and get stuck with 12.

I definitely want the XP. Though I'm going to have to do another playthrough if I want to get to level 60 :/

Today is the first time I've ever actually died in the Mako; I was fighting a Thresher Maw and first it wrecked all my tires and then the rest went down :(

What I like about ME is that since I play a male a lot and I use Sheploo all the time I can just get in to the game straight away, whereas the DA character creator is awful, lol. Been looking to get the ultimate edition for PC but GAME was out of stock. Got Alice: Madness Returns though.

Thing I hate about ME1 is that there's no way to just take face codes off the internet, so when I finished my FemShep a while ago and imported I just went straight to masseffectfaces.com and "borrowed" a face from there even though it looked nothing like my original character, lol. I noticed using the Ashley face texture makes Shepard look 100x better.

Ditto. I have some codes from there too, but I change to fit my character.
Ashely always looked cross-eyed in ME1. Did anyone notice in LotSB one of Liara's eyes (right), same as in ME1, had a small lower eyelid difference, in that scene she asks Vasir 'you mean this body', you can see that. Maybe when she's nervous that happens? :)

Speak for yourself!
My Shep has been the same since ME (sans the hair), and she will be the same (again, sans the hair) in ME3. I've seen some gorgeous femSheps, so that is purely a personal statement to make.  /uploads_user/1070000/1069890/43422.gif

I agree.  I think Leia is quite nice looking.  I put more effort into my femSheps than I do when I use Shep.

I have five of each. Four are with Liara and single femShep hopes to hook up with Liara in ME3. She missed out by being too slow to recruit Liara.

Very nice femShep, sunnie.
