Re: the statue, I pretty much agree with the general consensus of this thread, ie - IT SUCKS. But I think, I THINK, that I could accept it and buy it if they just fixed the face. It would still be overly sexualized and the pose and stance not akin to Liara's personality at ALL, but if they fixed the face, I might be able to live with it.
Question for group! If you want to have lots of little blue children with Liara - how many would you have and what would you name them? Some cool Asari name, or some human name? And would they keep T'soni or Shepherd as a last name?

The blue children question. Right now I am working on a new story set 15 years after the war. Liara and Shepard have two children. Liara might get pregnant with number three before the story is over. I haven't made my mind up on that yet. But I do have three names picked out.
I put a great deal of thought and research into their children names.
Oldest-Kaja(Greek meaning pure)
Middle-Gaia(Greek meaning Earth)-probably should be the oldest name.
Youngest-Randa(Latin meaning she who must be desired), also nick name for Miranda(Liara has to talk Shepard into this one Shepard still didn't trust Miranda even though I've RP her dying helping take out Cerberus.).
ETA:The kids will have T'Soni as their last name. Liara and Shepard talk about it. Both last names will put expectations on them that neither parents wants for them, but T'Soni would put less than Shepard.

There is a separate thread about Liara's statue. Reactions haven't been mild so far. BioWare did respond and basically they said different people have different tastes. This particular artist did statues this way but there were going to be more squad member goodies later on which those who did not like Liara's statue may indeed like.
I was a little saddened by the answer, I would've loved to have a little statue of the universe's most gorgeous Asari but alas... I hope she appears on the cover of the CE somehow, I'll just look at that^_^
ETA: Yes those are nice names. I would've stuck with something more human-ish myself. Most of my Shepards are spacers and so should Captain Hannah get killed in ME3 (very likely) then I'd like to name one of Shep's children 'Hannah'. Benezia seems a somewhat older name no longer suited to young Asari, but part of my would like Shep's children to be named Benezia and Hannah. After their grandmothers.
Where Gaia is a big hams that will probably end up being some actress. (As long as she doens't shake her ass in some sleezy bar) Shepard/Liara will be okay with her doing acting. Or that is how I have in my head right now. Might change once I start typing it out.

As far as I am concerned, they are going after a niche crowd. It seems many Liara fans are not liking that statue. I for one am not a fan of anime or manga. I don't play many JRPG because I can't stand the art and all the characters seem to be teenagers with the same hair style just different color. Same with the Dark Horse comics. Horrible art. The only Mass Effect comic I own is Redemption and that is in TPB form. I also don't like the art of the Dark Horse Star Wars comics either. Why did you ask about ingame Liara? I wouldn't be worried that they're going to change her ingame face model to resemble the statue. And it's already been stated numerous times that her ingame model isn't finished yet and what we've seen so far is Liara's ME1 face model being used as a placeholder.
I try not to worry about it. After all, it's just 2 months remaining until Skyrim is released. Then it'll be easy to wait for march 9th since I'll have a lot to do:)
What will they do to Ash or Kaidan? I shutter to think.

Yea, I'm waiting on Skyrim too. Give me something to play until mid-Feb when I start up another canon femShep run to get ready to kick some Reaper ass. Liara is always by Shepard's side. Well...except in ME2. At least she's returns to femShep's side. All is right in the galaxy.

Yeah, by that time they've learned from their mistakes and the other statues will be exact replicas of a character's in game model. If that happens I call for a full week of facepalming.
