Ive keeped Liara as my LI for both games so far, cant wait to see how it goes in ME3! Liara = Love

I'm also hoping for a nice conclusion [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Me too.  And something special for those that remained faithful.

Yes.[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]

I want that for all ME1 LI.  I did have one Shep stay faithful to Ash.  But I want it even more so for those that stayed with Liara.  Because Liara's romance arc is the best so far.  [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/cool.png[/smilie]

I agree, Liara's romance is the best in both games.
I'm so glad LotSB came out when it did, It would suck if Bioware decided to abandon her as a character :(
Luckly we can now be certain to see her in ME3 and hopefully get our sweet blue reward for waiting patiently ^^

Well, to be fair, Liara has had the highest content/time ratio of the love interests so far.

True, but even if you take out the DLC, her arc seems better than either Ash or Kaidan's.  At least Liara showed Shepard she still cares by giving a kiss during her cameo.  Ash and Kaidan gives an unfeeling hug and a whole lot ass chewed.  Which I don't blame them, but it did make it easier for  my Sheps that are with them to move on.  Except for one that stayed with Ash.

With Aethyta's voice: "Even tried to romance someone other than Liara. Didn't work out."

My male Shepard that loves Ash would have loved to kiss her on Horizon, but to be honest it would have felt out of character for either of them to do PDA. Also, Ash says that she almost .... (killed herself/lost her mind/???) when she lost Shepard. Her chewing Shepard out was a WTF? moment that I have a feeling Bioware when they pull back the curtain on why Ash/Kaidan went off it will make sense ... Like Liara's coldness and focus on killing the Shadow Broker.

I do think we will learn more about Ash/Kaidan in ME3 when it comes to their cameo in ME3.  They did tie up Liara's issue with the DLC, so they need to do the same with Ash/Kaidan.

At least Ash's message seems like she never really moved on to someone else.  Unlike Kaidan who gave in to his friends and dated some doctor on the Citadel.   I know both messages made it seem like both cared for Shepard still, but Ash's came across as better.  Why I have one Shep that remained faithful to her.  Kaidan didn't get the same treatment.

I thought it was suggested that she almost lost faith in god. Which is powerful without being overdramatic.

But I disagree with Liara's romance arc still being "better" than the VS romance without LOTSB. Without LOTSB, the Liara romance is at the same stage as the VS. With both parts going adrift.

The rest of that line has been left to the player's imagination really. On the Ash thread it was interesting at all the "end of that line" potentials. Losing her faith could have been one although for me I feel she was about to say she "almost didn't make it" without Shepard. Broke my Shepard's heart. Posted Image

How many ME players have actually read the comics?  I didn't bother with it until a few months ago.  It will be the only ME comic I get to.  GAWD, DH Comics hires the worse artist for their comics.  They've ruined the look of the Star Wars characters too.  To me for comics, the style of the art is the most important thing then story.  Crappy art ruins a good story for me.   Which DH did with Liara without  her freckles.  URGH!

Not to go too off topic. But I just think the idea of her just wanting to lay down and perish because her heart is oh so broken seems overused, and un-Ashley.

VS and Illium cameo could had been handled better, but at least we got a few more dialogs with Liara

Is a shame we didnt got the chance to speak on a more personal level with Liara about the relationship back then, like in this comic. Such a short dialog could have made a big difference

From what Liara tells us, this scenario would fit Liara better than Ashley... I mean, she's been mourning Shepard every day for 2 years straight. Surely she's had moments where she didn't really want to go on any more.

@Ophiskc

That comic is so sweet and very true. I really wanted Shepard to be able to say something like that. Would've made a world of difference.

It still beats an unfeeling hug then ass chewed and called a traitor.  Even with Garrus with you.  "Garrus too?"  I just wish at that point, I had Tali with me.  Tali and Garrus.  I think Ash and Kaidan's head would have exploded.

Well I read them and a bunch of other people who posted read them. Redemption sold very well, the first edition of the second issue sold out completely. Keeping this in mind, I think Redemption is qualified to be recognized as part of Liara's character arc.

It is actually,  I'm under the impression all books/comics are canon according to BioWare.  I like how BioWare uses the same publisher for both their books and comics that Lucas Books uses.  DelRey for novels and Dark Horse for comics.

I only bought for Liara's story in getting Shepard's body.  If they do another Liara comic, I'll wait until it's released as TPB to get it.

I would imagine in the start she would have afew moments like that. Her entire world as she was gone after the SR-1 was destroyed. Benezia was dead, Shepard was dead and the team dissolved. She was pretty much alone at that point. the guilt after giving Shepard's body to Cerberus did not help either.

But as unhealthy as it was. Focusing on revenge against the SB gave her purpose to fight on.

Ashley is very sensitive under that "soldier" exterior and she let Shepard in behind that wall. Losing him would have been hard on Ash and she would have blamed herself for not somehow saving him. And I would have hated to be Joker when she got to him. It would be Ash's faith  and her family's support that would ultimately give her the strength to move forward. But that is just my Shepard/Ash story.

I think it was necessary for Liara to move on.  It gave her something to focus on beside hoping Cerberus could do what they claimed.  Bring back Shepard.

Unhealthy, very much so.  Necessary, very much so.

Question.

Does anyone here think, Liara took the armor off of Shepard's body?  If not, how did she get the back half?  Legion has the front piece.

ETA:As for the comic from Wingedmoggy, that is how my Shepard felt after learning why Liara was acting like she was and her anger at the Shadow Broker.  I was willing to wait for her.  Which is why even without the DLC, I stayed faithful to Liara.
