@kumquats Oh, you have a tool Shepard too. LMAO!

And believe it or not, that Shep didn't talk to Kelly the whole game. Not once. It still says Yaoman Chambers. I only talked to Joker, Dr. Chakwas, and Garrus. Until I wanted to break it off with Garrus then I talked to Thane. Had to do a few missions because I didn't talk to him at all, then told him I wanted him and he wanted me to break it off with Garrus, but I had already gotten back with Liara by that point.

She is really a tool and a paragon at that. Just not with her personal life. Pure evil that one is.

EDIT:top of the page with my fave Liara picture.  Now that I figured out how to post a picture.

I have to, I want to see all the dialogues for Liara. I think her VA does a fantastic job, so I will check out all the heartbreak in ME3. ^_^

it would be stupid to have her as squadmate for ME3...

she is the SB!!! she has all the information she needs at the snap of her fingers... so it would be pointless to play the game with her as squadmate... just use her resources to spread false intel and the game is done...

so either the base is destroyed or sth... it is stupid to have her as squad member..

I have a theory on why she is with Shepard.  Cerberus.  TIM knows she is the Shadow Broker.  He is also keeping an eye on their relationship.  Which just ticks me off to no end.  Shepard's private life isn't any of that d-bag business.  I think Cerberus goes after her base at Hagalaz and that is the reason she is on the Normandy.

*does little happy dance*My tool Shep was finally able to break it off with Garrus and now Liara's picture is back up.  :o

That's what I'm hoping for, no more residing in that dark ship on that awfull planet Hagalaz. Also it raised one of my eyebrows when the Lotsb mission report stated Liara/Shepard's relationship had to be monitored closely. NO it needn't be monitored AT ALL. Freaking TIM better stay away from Shepard's private life if he knows what's good for him.

I never fully trusted the Illusive Man anyway, even though he did the right thing by bringing Shepard back and being among the few people having faith in Shepard. Now that Cerberus is confirmed to be Shepard's enemy, and we know Cerberus isn't above using dirty tricks to get to someone, I worry about what they might do. Let's face it, Cerberus doesn't stand a chance against Shepard himself and this kai leng will be sent back to TIM in pieces if he tries anything. Liara, although being incredibly skilled, doesn't have the same level of invincibility that Shepard has so TIM might try going after her.

On the bright side it is another very good reason to keep Liara close (and in the active squad) at any time ^_^

Now I've said alot here and some may think me a troll ; I'm far from such a thing. I would be lying to myself if i said that I thought that there was a strong likelyhood that any of you will respond to what I've said here. Yoy shouldn't feel as though you have to defend your thoughts and feelings about Liara : But I've said what I needed to say : and that's good enough for me... Posted Image

Quite simple. MY Shepard never cheats on Liara but other Shepards might have done so. Therefore I can refer to those Shepards as 'Cheatingdouchebag!Shepard', without offending my own characters =]

When it comes to Liara, I just can't do that too her.  She went through way more crap than the VS did after Shepard got spaced.  And she wasn't a jerk to Shepard when they met up the first time unlike the VS.  So, they got cheated on.  I did a new Shepard to stay faithful to Ash, but Kaidan won't get that treatment.

ok a real stupid question but has it been confirmed that liara is back (as a proper squad mate) not not just the broker cos that would suck (it never felt right that she became the SB I felt as though Sheperd just helped her to go further down a dark path and she was already becoming very hard and this would not help Her keep true to how she is. IE she became the thing she hunted.

Liara has been confirmed as a squadmember for ME3. Christina Norman tweeted most squadmembers won't behave like they used to in ME2 meaning you might get a certain squadmember early in the game. But unlike previous games, these squadmembers may not stay with you for the remaining game but rather leave after a while (whatever the reason)...

So yes, Liara is a squadmember in ME3 but we have no clue when she will be available as such. Neither do we know how long she'll be in our squad. Though Liara's character pretty much prohibits her from leaving Shepard's side to settle a petty squabble since she cares too much for Shepard to do so, even when not romanced.

According to everything I have read about what has been confirmed so far, Liara will be a perm squad mate.  I do realize that things can change in the next eight months, but I want Liara with my Shepard ASAP.

Same here, and you're right about Liara having been confirmed as a permanent squad mate. Still, Cristina Norman stated it'll behave differently in ME3 and not even 'permanent' squad members may be on your team the entire game it seems. I do hope this is wrong though, if I knew Liara was going to leave (for whatever reason) at the end of the next mission, I'd probably postpone that mission for a very very long time:pinched:

Or not do it at all if possible.  I can't see Liara leaving Shepard if they are lovers.  I just can't see that. :pinched:

Indeed, for Liara (especially if you romance her) I don't see any real reason why she would leave Shepard's side. For Kaidan/Ashley they might get an urgent call from the alliance and being the 'real' alliance soldiers that they are they might ask to be dropped off at some point, in their case, duty comes first. Same thing for Tali, she gets an urgent call from the admiralty board on the migrant fleet and is forced to leave. For Liara, no such thing. I doubt she'd go out of her way to save some Asari colony or even a major world since I don't feel she has such kinship with her people. Certainly not to the extent of the VS or Tali.

The only possible thing I can think of is the discovery of some prothean technology. Liara and Shepard find it, study it for a bit, then Shepard has to leave to gather more allies and Liara wishes to stay behind to study it some more. Though even when writing this it sounds unlikely since Liara does have a strong sense of duty (imo) and she wouldn't leave Shepard to deal with the reapers alone just to look at some prothean technology.

I think she could do the studying of the tech on board the Normandy.  Not like it doens't have access to a computer terminal.

I'll try to answer to the best of my abilities.

According to what Bioware has said. Who is in our party will vary depending on how far we are in the game and what choices we made before (who survived the suicide mission). You still recruit people but unlike before where those you recruited stayed with you throughout the entire game (or until they die). Some squadmates might leave you after certains to do other things.

So now you might not be able to have the same squadmates throughout the entire game.

Sorry if I misunderstood.

I can't see BioWare making squads alternative outfits for those that are not perm. To me that is just another sign that Liara, VS, and Vega are perm squads. Just another thought. Eight more months and everyone will know for certain.

Some special arrangements (I'm talking about permanent squadmember status) could (and probably will) be made for important characters. Both Liara and Ashley/Kaidan play a big role in ME3 and weren't featured in the main ME2 game a whole lot, while all other squadmembers minus Vega and probably a yet to announce human female are in both ME1 and ME2 most of the time. (Note the human female is pure speculation on my part but it seems logical to me that BW will add a human female for s/s romance purposes)
