Did Shepard cheat after romancing Liara in LOTSB? If so. Liara might show sympathy for Shepard losing someone he loves, but I doubt she would want to come back together. Shepard made his choice to leave her by cheating.
Did Shepard cheat on her. And during LOTSB got the "Myabe in the future we can be together again" line with Liara if you chose to remain friends for now. Then I would put it as a maybe.

If you do the LotSB before the SM, Shepard hasn't cheated yet. The ME2 LI might be locked in but their cabin/engine room scene hasn't happened yet. Shep can still break it off before the SM.Lizardviking wrote...

Maybe in the future line is said when you ask about your relastionship with Liara. She also says she wants Shepard to be happy. Then you can say I want you. That is when she says, Okay, if you're sure. I don't want to cause trouble, no arguements, no choices. Which tells me that Shepard just picked Liara and needs break it off with the ME2 LI.
I do see Ash making a HUGE deal out of it actually.

LOTSB does not read if your ME2 LI is dead. So it is possible to have had another romance. Then when you do LOTSB, get the "Maybe in the future" line. Instead of starting the romance there, you just choose to be friends.

Wait a minute, I thought you can't cheat on her anymore if you get that line. Unless you consider not break up with your ME2 LI as cheating, which is probably right, but I don't know how BW sees it.Robhuzz wrote...
Indeed. She does not outright say it but I think we can conclude that since she says she wants no argument (no situation like ME1) she actually means: I'm not going to force you to choose again. Next time you do something like that, it's over. I actually hope it means this. Though I'm very worried it's going to be another simple conversation and you can just persuade Liara to give you another chance....

You can have a ME2 LI, my tool femShep went with Garrus even though she was with Liara in ME1. She got back together with Liara. Broke it off with Garrus, but you can get with either Thane or Jacob after breaking it off with the ME2 LI. You can do all three LI in ME2 in the same playthrough.gxkrizard wrote...

If said tool had a romance in ME2 that got killed? Maybe the tool, despite caring for both romances, just can't immedietly jump ship again after what happend and need some time.

So you can actually cheat on her more than once? I didn't know about that. Now I understand why you think she should be angry at Shepard. Well on this one anyway.ladyvader wrote...

Yes. My tool femShep is thinking of hooking up with Thane after getting back with Liara. Like I said, she's a complete tool.gxkrizard wrote...

@Lizardviking. I've yet to lose any of my LI and I as tempted as I am to see how that plays out,. I doubt very much I would play a game that way. Being mean to Liara with the femShep that is single and angry was hard enough for me to do.

It certainly feels strange to have a Shepard that dislike liara. But I still do it because I wish to see all versions of Liara/Shepard dynamic.
"EDIT"
Chakwas CAN die. Do not send any escort on the suicide mission and she will killed.

No. If you send an unloyal escort. The SR-2 will make it back, but the squadmate will be KIA.

Even if your entire crew gets turned into a human flavored milkshake, Chakwas survives. I think she also survives running to the Normandy even if you don't send an escort. I'm not willing to find out however. As much as I dislike Cerberus at times, I don't want to get the entire crew killed.
ETA: ME wikia says Chakwas will die if no escort is sent with her, along with the entire crew. I defer to the wikia at this point.

Thanks. For some reason when I start a new playthrough I always say "I'm going to do things differently and really get a different outcome" then when it comes down to it I always end up making the same choices as always because I don't want to lose anyone and it seems like the better choice. Anyone else have that problem?
All the time these days. All my new playthroughs now follow almost the exact same route I took with my 'perfect' Shepard. Rachni queen survives all the time. I always save the DA. Always make sure Wrex survives. Always romance Liara and stay faithful. Always blow up collector base. Always activate legion and rewrite heretics. These are things I'm not going to do differently any more, except if it later turns out one of these choices adversely affects Shepard/Liara, only then will I change it.

I can confirm what Chakwas says to Liara when the crew dies because I will be killing them off in the playthrough I'm working on now. Give a a day to two to get to it. I'm almost to the collector base. I need to finish Mordin's LM and I'll be forced to get backstabbed by TIM.Robhuzz wrote...

I do know Dr. Ckawas isn't a happy camper and very traumatized by what happened. But I don't remember what she says to Liara. Normally I save the crew. I'm so glad I picked up a Dazzle so I could record this stuff I'm only doing once.
@Robhuzz, Half of my playthroughs are like that. It's been the last 4-5 I've started to really change things up. I want a variety to see the little differences in ME3. There are little differences if you don't do stuff in ME1. I like how I have over 20 play throughs and I'm still finding little things.

This is my "problem" exactly. Before starting a new playthrough I'm thinking that "this time I could do things differently, try to romance someone else than Liara..." But the I just can't do it, I'm always making the same decisions. But in the other hand I always enjoy playing Mass Effect even if I do those same things over and over again, so maybe that doesn't matter.
