I do know Dr. Ckawas isn't a happy camper and very traumatized by what happened.  But I don't remember what she says to Liara.  Normally I save the crew.  I'm so glad I picked up a Dazzle so I could record this stuff I'm only doing once.

No idea what Chakwas could say to Liara, we dont get that information after all; but Liara say in the cabin something like "I also spoke with Dr. Chakwas, i'm glad she's doing well", but dont know if this dialog changes or how it does when at that moment she's dead already

Thanks. For some reason when I start a new playthrough I always say "I'm going to do things differently and really get a different outcome" then when it comes down to it I always end up making the same choices as always because I don't want to lose anyone and it seems like the better choice. Anyone else have that problem?

All the time these days. All my new playthroughs now follow almost the exact same route I took with my 'perfect' Shepard. Rachni queen survives all the time. I always save the DA. Always make sure Wrex survives. Always romance Liara and stay faithful. Always blow up collector base. Always activate legion and rewrite heretics. These are things I'm not going to do differently any more, except if it later turns out one of these choices adversely affects Shepard/Liara, only then will I change it.

This is my "problem" exactly. Before starting a new playthrough I'm thinking that "this time I could do things differently, try to romance someone else than Liara..." But the I just can't do it, I'm always making the same decisions. But in the other hand I always enjoy playing Mass Effect even if I do those same things over and over again, so maybe that doesn't matter.

Yep.  Same here.  Im all like "Im gonna be renegade and all tough and im not gonna be nice to Liara like I am in every other game" then I see her on illium and i go Image IPB.......

I know the dialgue chances, but I've only heard it once and I don't remember what  is said.  I'll post what it is once I get that far.  I already know the Cerberus crew won't make it.  Image IPB

Only in DA:O. I guess that is because that game has no morality bar and is a nice self-contained story.

:lol:Good one! Not being nice to Liara...!

In all seriousness, being mean to Liara on purpose is so... strange. Most characters have certain traits that some people get upset over and therefore be mean to said character. Liara however doesn't appear to have any such traits. There's absolutely no reason to be mean to Liara in ME1. Perhaps if you're just looking for an excuse and are super anti Cerberus you might get angry at Liara but then you start thinking rationally and you realize that what Liara did was for the best and you forgive her anyway. Well, everyone but the haters but who cares about them?

Well, angry single femShep needs to get her head back on staight and she thinks this will do it.  They have to go and quickly.  Which is why after the Collector base, I'm doing the IFF mission next.  Then get Tali and the rest of the LM except for Miranda and Jacob.  She hasn't said two words to Miranda and only talked to Jacob to get the armor upgrade.  Plus she getting drunk after every mission and EDI keeps telling her where the bathroom is.
She needs to calm her ass down before talking to Liara again.  That didn't go well on Illium.  :crying:  I was hoping to get this Shepard with Liara in ME3.  But if she doesn't calm down, that won't happen.

Being mean to Liara was very hard.  Just like getting her after Virmire was hard.  Which this Shep did.  =]

@Robhuzz
Being mean to Liara was hard for me to do.  Gawd, it hurt having Liara slap her hand on the desk going off on Shepard about not hacking the termials.  She says, "I didn't go looking for your help or something like that.  I'd have to watch my video of it to get the exact phrase.  I did them anyway, but I renegaded everything on this playthrough.  Why I'm waiting to do the DLC now.  To calm this Shepard down come once the Cerberus crew is gone, so Shep can think with a clear head for the first time since being woke up on the Cerberus station.

She felt bad for the salarian workers that were getting killed during Thane's RM.  Damn you Nassana.

I always make it to 56:pinched: Then again I go out of my way to get as much xp as possible, including killing Threshers, armatures and collosi on foot after lowering their health enough with the mako.

I managed to hit exactly the same level when I last played ME1. I just can't reach lvl 60 with 1 playthrough and after that playthrough I just want to import my character into ME2 so I'll never hit lvl 60 :(

Play on casual?  That's all I ever get on that level.  I can get into the 50's if I play on normal.  It took me three playthroughs to get canon femShep(Leia) to level 60.  Only Shepard I have at that level.

A trick to try is to not kill anything with the Mako. You get more experience and credits that way.

Random question.....IF you could have Liara with you in ME2 for the suicide mission, what would you want her role to be? Would she be good enough with biotics to do the bubble? I'd say 90% of the people here would have her in their squad, but i was just curious.

One of the 12 has to die in order for Liara to mention, "You lost people."  I did a playthrough where Shep lost her crew, Chakwas, Kelly, etc, but none of the 12 and Liara never mentioned them.

One being "mean" to Liara ...

With the exception of the “You’re obsessed” comment (that mirrors a renegade moment in ME1) I don’t consider the “renegade” lines to be mean.  In fact, I prefer them.  They give some emotion to a scene that is otherwise lacking.   Yeah, it’s selfish, but at this point Shep doesn’t know what Liara went through.  Shep is hurt in that she and Liara were lovers and now Liara will barely give her the time of day.  WTF?  Plus I love to RP it where Shep refuses to hack the terminals, but does it anyway because, well, she has to.  It’s Liara.  So, yeah Shep might come across as a little selfish, maybe even a little hypocritical, but anything will do to make her a little less of a brick.  That said, in the SB dialogue on Illium, I always use the paragon choice, even though my Shep hates Cerberus.  She can’t fault Liara for what she did.  She’s not happy about it, but she won’t blame Liara.

THIS!

Aside from your first statement about the "You¨re obsessed" I agree with picking the renegade options on Illium. Althrough I do not try to decline the hacking missions. My Shepard does them begrudgingly in a hope to have her open up after the job is done.

Having Liara smack her hand on her desk when Shepard says I don't have time to hack terminals for fun tore my heart out.  I don't normally tell Liara no.

This one femShep I'm playing now is very anti-Cerberus.  She's a sole survivor and all.  Plus she knows what Cerberus did to her squad on Akuze.  That is the reason she's getting drunk after every mission.  She is in a bad bad place and ****** off at Liara right now for giving her body to Cerberus.  I can't blame her for that, but damn Shep.  Calm the f down.  Liara did the right thing and I'm sure she will realize it once the Cerberus crew is gone and she can start thinking with a clearer head.

You are talking from a meta-gaming perspective. Mine is more in-character. Liara does not open up in my case. Shepard starts with getting angry and bitter over her cold and distant attitude, Liara snaps back and then it all escalates from there. Then there is a little arguement and words gets yelled back and forth. Shepard storms out of the office in the end, believing that their relationship is over and he was an idiot for thinking otherwise in the beginning.

"sigh" I really need to write that fanfic. :pinched:

Write it then.  I'm interested in reading it.

We're just RP it differently.  My canon femShep left Liara's office with hope they are still together and understood why she was acting the way she was acting.

Then she helped with the SB and all is right in the galaxy.

That's a tough question. I consider Samara to be the absolute best Biotic we've seen so far, her age, wisdom, experience and 400 years of intense training simply make her the best. Jack is the most powerful human biotic (characters from novels simply don't count) but I still think Liara is stronger than Jack. Sadly there was no difference in that SM part between Jack and Samara. Both start off easy and struggle to keep the barrier up in the end. Liara is stronger than Jack imo so she should be able to do it, but on the other side, if even Samara struggles to keep it up then Liara shouldn't be able to do it (but neither should Jack:P).

Liara's actual role in the SM would be easy: Permanently at Shep's side.
