I can't picture a scene like this so impossible to answer. How can saving 1 person lead to wiping out an entire planet?

Shepard: Liara! What happened to you?
Liara: No time to explain. There are 2 buttons, red and blue over there! *nods*
Shepard: What do they do?
Liara: The blue one releases me but Earth will blow up
Shepard: And the red one?
Liara: You can save Earth by pressing it but I will magically die!

Right... didn't think so:P

Could be a time constraint thing....... Liara is over here and needs help......Earth is over there and needs help......

Lol :lol:

I dont know, i'll make a stupid example:

The mayority of the reapers are concentrated on Thessia now. Liara found a prothean place in a moon of this planet that has a weapon capable to destroy just the reapers in this galaxy, but this is so powerful that the person who is inside the room that activates it will eventually die, and Liara at that moment is the only one with the knowledge to make it work.

You can choose Liara to do this, or to evacuate Liara and destroy the galaxy destroying the Mass Relay instead

If it's the end game situation, Shepard will be with Liara and they can go out together.

Still, Earth's future is not hinging on a few minutes, hours or weeks. If by the time such a choice is presented only 10.000 humans are left alive on Earth and if you save Liara, another 9000 of those are killed, then it doesn't matter anyway. Earth can be rebuilt, humanity can repopulate as long as a few 100.000 people survive, including colonies. I doubt things are THAT dire that we have to worry about a species surviving. Only the Quarians really have to worry about that, and the Krogan too, sort of.

ETA: On the positive side: After the Reaper war, unemployment rates will have dropped to 0:wizard:

Putting a bullet in his head would be a waste of time, unethical or not you would be saving lives who in turn can be given atleast basic training and sent of to a area to defend those more unfortunate and vulnerable to an invasion. I'm not a Cerberus fan but I believe in their goals, just not the way they try to reach the goals, Jacks situation? There was no need for that at all.

But it's the same with Jack as it was with David: They weren't making a super biotic weapon, they wanted to create an army - same as their plans to dominate the Geth, or the Rachni. And they tried to achieve this by abusing a single person - they throw away ethics to quicken their agenda. They use people to further their own goals to the extreme. The only real difference was that Jack could, and did, fight back. And that's where the idea of 'putting David out of his misery' isn't an ethical option: He's asking it to stop. He's asking for help, so whatever can be done for him should be done. It's similar to when Paragon Shepard says s/he won't compromise who they - or humanity - are
That and you're rendering the people saved as, basically, shock troopers, which is...counter productive

Sorry... I just read that through - it's pretty miserable...

That was my reaction to the opening of ME2.  Controller actually hit the floor too.  I didn't pay any attention to what was going on like I am now.  So I had no idea that was going to happen.

What am I seeing with Shep being called dad?

I play Femshep so....Charlie is still a 'Dad'?

It depends on your Shepard how she wants to be called by her childrens ^_^

In my game if Liara had kids they would be called "Feron's kids" and my Shepard would not be impressed.Image IPB

In ME2 you have to add some lines to the Coalesced.ini file, under [SFXGame.SFXGameModeBase]

Bindings=(Name="MouseX",Command="Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="MouseY",Command="Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="A", Command="PC_StrafeLeft",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="D", Command="PC_StrafeRight",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="W", Command="PC_MoveForward",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="S", Command="PC_MoveBackward",Control=True)
Bindings=(Name="NumPadNine", Command="ToggleFlyCam")

Use 9 (number pad) to activate it and WASD to move it. Keep Ctrl pressed to do so during cutscenes

Personally I think that Liara would choose Shepard over a planet only if she believes that (s)he is the only chance for the galaxy to survive against the reapers. I don't, or at least I hope, that she would not sell a piece of herself and save Shepard over millions because she Image IPB's him/her.

The same for my Shepard. If (s)he felt that Liara was part of the key and one of the only chances that we might be successful in defeating the reapers than yes. If it is a choice just because of love? No. My Shepard would choose Earth / Thessia and Liara would understand.

No to both. As for the third, I certainly hope not.

Who in their right mind would save one person over a city? Or an entire planet?

To a vulcan saving one person over a city or planet would be illogical but I don't think I could let a loved one die and knowing I had a way to prevent it. People die every day for stupid reasons, but I can't see them so its easy to ignore their suffering. If Shep did end up in a Virmire type situation where it was Liara or Earth she would find it harder to leave Liara to die than the faceless masses on Earth.

It's a matter of empathy, not logic. The faceless masses are composed of individuals with loved ones of their own. To make the choice of saving Liara over them is selfish, and positively inhuman.

Good that all are just virtual people, and it will not make big difference for us if happens at the end of the game, or make someone "inhuman" for making that choice.

Personally i want to see how the Shepard/Liara relationship concludes in an epilog.
I can play it again in other games if i want to see a different outcome later

King Minos, I disagree with your earlier comment that the genophage was immoral. Should it have been absent, the Krogan would have caused much suffering in the galaxy. The genophage was in fact an attempt to bring birth rate to pre-spaceflight numbers. Mordin mentions that if the Krogan stopped fighting among themselves and unified for peace among their species, they might thrive. The genophage is not an attempt to kill Krogan, nor does it cause neurological changes in Krogan.

There are of course different perspectives to look at it, but I think it was a necessary action. Whether it was moral or not is irrelevant to its purpose (but, as I said, I think it was a moral decision that has been blown out of proportion by the Krogan).

Thats suppose to be funny?

As someone said, for some a person they know is more important than faceless ones. Like a father would save their child over a train full of people.
Is that selfish? probably. Is that unnatural and inhuman? certainly not, is very natural in fact.

To have different opinions is fine, but telling others who RP different are "not in their right mind" is unnecesary. And wanted to remind you thats just a game, hope i make myself clear now
