But they can't...they've got Reapers to kill.

I wonder just how early this stage can be triggered?

Is it 50 years earlier?  In that case....Liara is still too young.

It would still be strange for it to happen during the game. I mean, I wouldn't mind reading/seeing that it happened (many) years after the events of ME3 in the epilogue, but anything else I would find strange.

Anyway, Liara isn't old enough to have kids. She's 200 years away from her 'matron' stage. If she 'can' for Shepard...I call bullcrap.

I think that's more of a cultural thing. Asari reach adulthood around ~40.

But...they can't physically reproduce until the matron stage (around 300 years)....

Are you sure? (I can't check the codex right now). The Mass Effect wiki says this about asari...

"However, it should be noted that, each stage can be started whenever an asari feels that she has reached the correct level of maturity."

*is confused*

My young volus/turian adoption plan should be accounted for in the ME3 Liara/Shepard epilogue!

*I'm not trolling...I'm serious...don't force biological Shepard/Liara kids on me!*

That isn't really said anywhere. They usually settle down, have kids and a family when they hit the matron stage BUT that doesn't necessarily mean that they can't have kids before that. At least this is how I've understood it...

I just find the need of knocking up Liara, kinda squicky to be honest.

/flameshield

Sure, it's fine if they have babies later...but preggers with the whole Reaper war going on.......WTF?!!!!!!

Good point.

But I don't want 'forced' kids up in my business.  So I am biased in my argument XD

I'd rather the pair adopt  (I am dead serious).  I don't want the romance to always end in baby Shep/Liara's.

Seriously, after the war....there will be tons of youngins in need of a nice home.  To keep in spirit with how I envision my Shepard and Liara's relationship, they'd adopt vs. having their own.

That's an interesting perspective you have of our couple's relationship, altruistic, very Noah's ark. They should probably include a batarian in their adoption plans given the outcome of Arrival.
My perspective is different though a little more traditional I guess. I see them having children, afterall the galactic population will have been significantly decreased because of the Reaper attack leaving a need for repopulation. I'd also like to see or at least hear about their epic love bearing fruit as long as it's not too corny. I think they'll have earned some serious down time when it's all over so given a choice I'd kind of like to see them celebrate with one another, maybe have a bondmate ceremony and end with a hint of babies on board.

The whole baby thing, just kinda scares me dude.  Liara is more than just a baby machine.

I agree that forced kids would suck. Even if I want to have those kids, each Shepard's story is different so I think you need to have options what Shepard and his/her LI are going to do after the reaper war. Some people want to have kids, others don't, some want to have a bondmate ceremony but others don't etc. etc. It would be such a lame ending if the epilogue would be always the same for Shep and the LI.

Post-reapers I'm cool with it as long as the player can opt in for it ("hey liara lets get married") rather than it being forced on them.

Exactly how are "forced" adopted kids an improvement? If kids are optional, then either is perfectly acceptable. If they are mandatory, then neither is acceptable.

For the record, I can think of at least one reason for the above preference.

I don't want 'forced' biological kids.  If I choose to headcanon adoption, then that's my choice.

Where have you seen that? I was under the impression that an asari ussually did not feel the need or want for reproduction or family untill they reached the matron stage but were fully biologically and mentally etc. capable of that as soon as they reached the maiden stage (puperty and young adulthood), or at least a short while into it. which Liara is.

While it is often considered strange IRL to have children in the early twenties or even late teens the body is fully ably to do so.

Do y'all need Liara to be able to have Shepard's babies?

What if she can't...how will that go?
