Liara: Shepard, where's Feron?
Shepard: Who?
Liara: Posted Image

Leaving Feron to be killed by Cerberus? Bad idea, at least if you want Liara to remain at your side for once. If Feron is killed by Cerberus, bet she'll go on a 2 year revenge quest to find and kill TIM. Those plans don't fit in my Shepard's retirement plans where he and Liara travel the galaxy together. Avoiding danger and visiting nice places for once.

*shakes fist at Rob*

How dare you throw a wrench in my Shepard's plans!

But, um ... er, you are right. Another revenge quest for Liara would not be good.

*walks away mumbling to self*

Better you find out now rather than later.
*1 week after both Shepard and Liara recovered from the war against the reapers*

Shepard: So hun, ready to set out?
Liara: Shepard... I'm glad you're here but
Shepard: I thought we had decided on travelling the galaxy together?
Liara: I'm sorry Shepard, I have things to do. Commitments I made. TIM needs to answer for what he's done to Feron.
Shepard*talks to himself*: I heard this before somewhere...
Liara: It may be years before I track TIM down, but some day he'll slip up, and I'll be here.

We are most likely going to kill TIM anyway, so Liara getting a vendetta against Cerberus seems like a fair trade-off for getting Feron killed!

I'm not so sure about that. I still think TIM is (and I better say this quietly or suffer the wrath of Ladyvader) an awesome character and because so little is known about him, BioWare can have him do almost anything. Make him out to be a villian would be too easy and wouldn't give his character enough credit. Call me crazy but I think TIM will eventually turn out to be a good guy and might even hold the key to defeating the Reapers. How would you feel then? Would you still want to shoot him even if it turns out he's not nearly as evil as he may seem?

Still. LOTIM sounds like a cool DLC.

And now my tongue hurts. I need to see a doctor.

What I don't want is, to jump on to the Normandy and Liara is sitting next to Joker. Picking her up is something I will look forward to, but there should be at least like 8-10 hours of gameplay.
But we will see. ^_^

I second that! Not the hurting tongue but the gameplay.

We saw in the Earth demo that when the Normandy picks up Shepard that the VS is there already but I too would like a saperate mission to pick up Liara. I could be content with simply picking her up, but it would be optimal if it was a longer mission like the base were being attacked by either Cerberus or Harbinger's minions and we had to get Liara (and feron if he is still around) out of there.
Then I could see either of two things happening.

1) Either the base is being overwhelmed and you have to activate the selfdestruct to make sure it does not fall into the hands of Cerberus/Reapers.

2) You reclaim the base from the attackers and soundly defeat them. And with Liara willing to come along you have the choice of either blowing up the base as you leave or let it be with whatever security liara has there, perhaps with Feron temporarily taking control untill Liara is back.

A small welcoming feast will be nice. If it's not included in the game then I may write one myself.

I like TIM too as a character and I agree with you.

Wonder what Liara would advocate in such a situation.

I'd even add that you could leave her on the base if you wanted to. This would allow those that do not like the character to not have to keep her if they chose. Of course then she couldn't die if you leave her there. Posted Image

I wouldn't particularly care for a feature like that since i would never even try to use it, it might however give us a little quiet from the haters.
The only problem with that seems to be that BioWare has plans for Liara so I doupt it would be implimented, unless whatever she needs to do can be done from the base.

She will likely loose her plot armour in the game however so that she, like probably anyone else, can die at some point Posted Image

But then we would just have to do anything to keep her alive Posted Image

If I've learned one thing coming on to this board is that there are very few individuals here that I would trust to be in the trenches with.
They are too quick in wanting to kill off their own side because they "dun't like em". Posted Image

I figured that if I were under fire with someone and we both survived they would at least have my respect. It may not make me want to weave baskets with them but it would make me protective of them. That is the way I look at all the teammates from Ash to Zaeed. They have Shepard's back and (s)he has theirs.

I've also noticed that who my Shepard would weave baskets with depends on the Shepard. My male Shepard loves Jack but my femShep has not made a connection with her for some odd reason. I'm working on it though.

There is a person or two in real life that I dislike, but I sure as hell do not wish death upon them. So I think that logic is wrong.

To be honest, I wouldn't be in the trenches at all. I would get my own side killed and it wouldn't be on purpose. If Liara were there with me she would most definitely put me in some kind of stasis field to keep everyone else safe. Posted Image

I don't know if I'm just too tired atm or what but I can't see what you mean by talking about being in the trenches with people here on the forums and what that has to do with anything. Sry my head is probably just lagging atm:pinched:. I agree that it's childish to kill off team mates just because you don't like them and I've never done that myself.

I think that it's not necessarily about being under fire together but how that other guy acts under fire. I'd respect and trust a person who I know would cover my back, that I could trust him/her. In that kind of situation I'd want to know that the other guy will follow orders and won't do any solo stuff (like Zaeed in that refinery). But in general I have to say that every ME squad mate is trustable, for me at least. I know that they can all get the job done.

It's not a reflection of RL callousness, just wanting the character to go away.

That the reason people kill off certain characters in ME2 (like me) is not because we feel that their deaths serve purpose, but rather because we feel that they are so god awful, so poorly written, so dumb. That the story is far better off without them.

While there are some characters that I am more protective of (Liara particularly) and some I like more than others I always try to get everyone through anything alive. I wouldn't let anyone die (on my side at least) if I could avoid it. The only one to ever die on my playthroughs were once where Mordin died because I didn't know how to do the last things right.

At some points doing ME1 I even got a bit silly (from a game player rather than rollplay perspective) where if Liara became knocked out in combat I would stand over her body and keep enemies away with Biotic abilities until unity were ready rather than just run and hide, that cost a few lives when playing on Insanity Posted Image
