This

If I've learned one thing coming on to this board is that there are very few individuals here that I would trust to be in the trenches with.
They are too quick in wanting to kill off their own side because they "dun't like em".

It's not a reflection of RL callousness, just wanting the character to go away.

Oh, I wasn't talking real life since that would require me to be in those same trenches. That's why I noted above that me (real me) in a trench would kill her own teammates.

I was thinking in terms of CoOp which would still apply since it is in-game and not RL ... Sorry if I didn't say what I was thinking clearly. My mind has been focused alot on the CoOp part of the game. In picking who to play with you would need to worry about the team killers. Or at least make sure that you didn't play as a species they hated.

But I see that my mentioning wanting characters dead hit a nerve.  Wow! That was unexpected.

What? Posted Image

That the reason people kill off certain characters in ME2 (like me) is not because we feel that their deaths serve purpose, but rather because we feel that they are so god awful, so poorly written, so dumb. That the story is far better off without them.

For story telling purposes I absolutely understand allowing characters to die. But hating a character with so much venom that you look forward to killing them? That gets to be a little scary to me.

But I guess if they can take out some of their life frustrations in a game vs real life? That can be a good thing.

That's where husks, scions and reapers come in for me. They represent bills, road hogs and a dirty house that need to be killed. Posted Image

We are most likely going to kill TIM anyway, so Liara getting a vendetta against Cerberus seems like a fair trade-off for getting Feron killed!

I'm not so sure about that. I still think TIM is (and I better say this quietly or suffer the wrath of Ladyvader) an awesome character and because so little is known about him, BioWare can have him do almost anything. Make him out to be a villian would be too easy and wouldn't give his character enough credit. Call me crazy but I think TIM will eventually turn out to be a good guy and might even hold the key to defeating the Reapers. How would you feel then? Would you still want to shoot him even if it turns out he's not nearly as evil as he may seem?

I hated the guy from the get-go ("Hey TIM, let's try some word association: Kahoku, Toombs, listening post..."), but he sealed his fate when he lied about my Liara. "Working for the Shadow Broker" my cloaca! Dude's a corpse that hasn't fallen over yet. I'm bringing Jack just for extra stompiness. Posted Image

I like this human, he understands.

After reading "Ascension" and about 1/3 of "Retribution", I hate TIM more.  If he goes after Liara, that the end of that guy.

Fresh Liara news for those who didn't see it yet! They fixed the figurine and it now at least passes as Liara.

Is there a movie piece without large breasts? It's everywhere.

What a shock, the stature is actually starting to look good. I will likely buy one as soon as I get some money.

It seems that they have listened to fan feedback. The statue looks better now that it's completed.

The body is starting to look good but the face still doesn't look like Liara. A proper Liara face with that body and it would be very nice. But in the other hand I'm not really into collecting figurines/statues so...

But I have to say, now that they've made her breasts look normal and all it's actually pretty good looking figurine. Something you could even put in your vitrine or bookshelf or where ever. So yeah, that's definitely an improvement :wizard:

They've done as much as they can with it to make it better, I guess I just don't like the actual anime style. I'd happily buy the statue if it actually looked like Liara rather than this adaptation of it, I mean she was meant to be kinda cute and endearing in her ME look and there's no need to go even further with it to the point of exaggeration.

I'm with you.  I'm not a fan of any anime but at least it looks better now than it did before.

I'll still pass on this statue. It still looks like a random asari in Liara's LotSB armor.

The work on the armor is spot on and that I do like. Give me a statue of Liara that looks like Liara in-game, I'll buy it.

This one gets a pass.

I never buy collectibles or toys like this because if it comes into contact with my hands I will end up break by either dropping it or trying to move the arms and legs even when they are not supposed to move I still try.

Okay I understand that dropping thing because I tend to accidentaly break stuff too :P But why on earth you try to move the limbs of a statue or figurine when you know they're not supposed to move? Well I have to admit that I have a bad habbit of wanting to disassemble every possible machine and object I get in my hands or see if they can be disassembled, but still, they're figurines, why??

I still won't be getting it. It honestly baffles me why a western games company making games with a realistic graphical style and which are played predominantly by westerners, would pick one of the most popular characters from one of their most popular games, and purposefully give the character over to a company which specialises in an eastern style, and a highly sexualized style to boot. Judging by the backlash over this thing, there isn't as much love for anime in the Bioware fanbase as they must have initially assumed.

... Which, honestly, comes as a big relief. Personally.

Thankfully Casey said they were going to do another Liara figurine later which would look more realistic so those of us who like Liara but don't want anime style Liara can get a proper looking one as well.

Korkki I really don't know, I just have too. I had a Sauron figurine, really detailed and amazing yet I wanted to see how far I can twist his head, have a guess what happened. I was honestly pretty gutted. When I was younger I took one of my sisters Brat dolls and melted 3 Lego men so it looked like lego men were sprouting out of her head, i was pretty proud on what I created so I showed my sister and my dad. The reception was not what I expected.

I'm lmao when I picture that bratz-lego thing in my head   Twisting, melting or ruining Liara in any other way would be unacceptable, so I'll hope you'll never get a Liara statue/figurine! j/k :P
