How many humans have a Ph'd in any field at 18-20?  Let alone work in that field for years.  It is also not fair or right to compare a human in terms of age to an asari. Asari seem to leave home around the age of 50-60ish.  I wouldn't put it pass some asari feel that 200  is still barely a child.  That doesn't not make them so.

nice but i like the changes over the first two games.
1.)first meet/me1
2.)ME2 2 years later (most people change in looks and a little bit in attitude or how the do things
3.)like LOTSB look over others but always like Liara

who can hate Liara besides the people who take the hate to far

she is nice, good looking... well everyone has their views

Liara's character is one of the most intriguing character developments in the entire city. She starts as this fairly sheltered individual who was oblivious to an extent on how the galaxy worked and operated. During her time in your mission and the two years you were gone Liara goes through a massive maturation process and you can see her "grow up" right in front of your eyes to an extent. I have romanced her more then any other character and I almost feel bad during a few scenes in the game when I didn't romance her. I give great kudos to the developers of this franchise for creating such an emotional response to an inanimate creation that they somehow make us really care about.

If there's one thing I've learned in my years on the Bioware forums and BSN... it's that there are haters for everyone and everything.

One thing that bothers me about Liara in ME2 is the way she speaks.

Listen to her in ME1 and then in ME2. maybe its just me but I really like how her voice is in ME1, it's not as breathy and pause filled.

yay for Liara but someone messed with the coloring of this photo.

My question is how you're changing the emoticon to be blue skinned. Testing -->  I wonder if that worked..

Damn, it made the letters blue.

Ali Hillis has said in various interviews that her recording sessions for ME2 were hectic and disjointed. She didn't really know where Liara's changes were coming from, and her confusion is obvious in the delivery.

Last year, a member made a set of custom blue smileys. I don't have the links to all of them, but I'll ask her to post them here.

Here is your poll. I don't use twitter however so someone else would have to share this with Casey.

No offense intended, but the reference photo you show of M1 is huge in comparation of the Lotsb one, you even cant see the blue eyes or the improved skin texture in the later. If i would think bad i would believe that you state clearly your preference and that u try to influence the vote of the people who could guide themselves from that.

But because i believe that wasnt your intention or that u didnt thought on this, it would be nice if you could change the Lotsb photo for a bigger one (if possible), to make it a fair fight. Just because not all voters are Liara fans that stares at her all day

No, that wasn't the intention. I just ran a fast google search and tossed in links but I don't think I can switch the voting options. I'll leave a new link the the comments though.

In any case it doesn't seem like they need a bigger photo though cause LotSB is winning.

Thank you.  There are several more chapters left to be posted.

I keep wondering that too.  Why I left it so vague in my story.  I'd rather not mention much than be completely off on what I think will happen.

I don't think it scales as simply as "asari live X times longer, so develop X times slower". That said, it depends how rigid the asari education system is. If they're allowed to progress on merit alone then there are certainly going to be outliars who progress abnomally fast, but even they'd be considered lesser in their field until they were older, regardless of their ability. It's more of a cultural thing than biological.

Long story short, being considered "Barely an adult" culturally doesn't mean she should look young by human standards (or indeed act young).

Ah, that makes alot of sense. Do you have a link to this interview as I'd like to read or watch it.

Also I don't understand either where all of Liara's personality change came from. I liked her better as a scientist instead of a blood thursty information broker.

Personaly I think asari develop as fast as humans, but for someone who lived for 800 years, they will consider Liara barely an adult.
Asari have the luxury of time, of course they will devote as much as possible to their daughters.

Do you mean develop physically or emotionally? I kind of tripped over myself in my post, jumping from one to the other.

We've seen a ~60 y.o. asari on Illium who looked no younger than most other asari, so physically they seem to plateau quite early, though you can't always count on filler NPCs being 100% perfect I guess. Mentally though, well, I can't see many ~100 y.o. humans wanting to strip or become mercs, so it seems they do generally mature slower emotionally, which goes hand-in-hand with being considered young.

These are all generalities though, mentally Liara's as mature as any asari we meet. Possibly the only asari more mature emotionally is Samara, and Intellectually I don't think we've even met Liara's match yet.

This is my thinking as well.  Just because they can live ~10 times longer than humans, it doesn't mean they age/mature at 1/10th the rate that humans do.  Samara mentioned something about ardat-yakshi being discovered at around age 40, when they reach sexual maturity, so I would assume that would be roughly the equivalent of asari 'adulthood'.

Not so sure about that, personally... But then again we don't really spend enough time with her to get a good idea of her intelligence, or anything about her really, considering she's indoctrinated most of the time.

We are thinking about the same person, right?

Yeah the Hanar trader that makes you smuggle in some goods for him.
You got to admit it was a very well constructed plan that required high level of intelligence.

Oh right, yeah... I meant him, too. And he was totally indoctrinated, funny how many people miss that bit though...

Did I say "she" before? No, I don't think so.

Some more character designs would be most welcome also. A bit more gameplay too. I don't want to see the majority of the intro until November or so the anticipation would kill me. I don't think there will be anything Liara specific sadly.
