While logic and emotion each play into the dicision morals, in my mind, does not.
Saving the one you love is an emotional decision; saving the many that you do not love is a logical decision.
Both are moral they just defirenciate between being selfish and selfless.
Which ever you choose would depend on wichever of emotion or logic has a greater hold over you, not whether you are a good or evil person.
An amoral dicision (speaking very much in black and white here) would be to not save anyone and let them all die.

I'm certain those fifteen billion people that are left to die because you think Liara is cute will see the undeniable fairness of your argument.

I know I shouldn't expect everyone to have the empathy and emotional maturity required to see a multitude of people as anything more than an abstract concept. Sometimes I'm too optimistic for my own good. We've been over this before though, and it's not a subject that I can discuss politely. Time to press on.

Was that one really necessary?
If I have offended I apologise, but there is really no need for that kind of accusations.
But I agree; lets move on to something more pleasent before this gets ugly.

Welcome back and thanks.

I need to get back to playing the ME redo of my canon femShep.  I'm changing a few things before ME3.  I already picked up Liara though.  I did Pinnicle Station and the damn thing froze up on me.     I've not played since.  Urgh on freezes.

I find it odd that Liara (as the Shadow Broker) will be participating with Shepard on the battlefield (from what we've seen on the vids available anyway). I figured it'd be better if she was on the ship (Haglaz I think the name is) feeding Shepard info at all times whenever she gets something he could use. Maybe she just wanted to be next to her lover or something (joking at this point).

I and a few others here feel that Cerberus is going to go after the Shadow Broker base.  TIM knows the location and is keeping an eye on Liara's relationship with Shepard.

From the mission complete screen after defeating the SB.

I'd much prefer to haver the epilogue about how the galaxy is recovering and not so much on Shepard since we all have our own endings. Different, if any, love interest ... different allegiances, backstories, hopes for their Shepard's future.

Some on this board want marriage & blue babies while others do not want that in their relationship.

An epilogue on the galaxy as a whole would also fit for future games that would not include Shepard.

But we will see what Casey and his mad(wo)men have in store ... no matter what I will be okay with. Posted Image

Chicken ****.. lol
You're just freaked out by the whole mind melding thing a ma bob!
We want blue babies.. but also conquer... not during the fight... maybe as a reward.. but not during the battle and no more mercy screwing..

Liara - I know we or you might die so let's do it... for fear of never seeing each other again..

What happened to two people doing it cuz they care about each other..? Not because their next mission might Posted Imagelands them on the windsheild of a Reaper or something.. lol

The meld-y thing is part of a turn off to me, as I have already admitted in previous posts. Posted Image

I don't want anyone or anything up in my mind moving about so when Liara started telling Shepard about it I moved away from the PC and said, "No frickin' way." I was already freaked by her and Shiala's solid black eyes when they went into Shepard's head and now she is telling Shepard that ... well, that is similar to how they have "fun" time.

Me: Dear Bacchus, say it isn't so.
Liara: So.
Shepard: I should go!
Liara & I: No!

Kaidan was getting points as she kept talking about the meld. But EW and I moved forward, okay I made her stay since it wasn't me in real life. And as we got to know her character she won us both over despite that part of the deal.

Then Liara showed up at the end of the game saying "Meld?" and since it was Shepard and not me having to participate ... Liara got her wish. Shepard didn't talk to me for a week ... But it was for science and l'amour! Did I mention that there was a coin toss involved?

Real life melding? Not a chance in frickness would I do it and poor Liara would have to live with earth girl style of romance or find someone else. I know ... what a meanie I would be. That or she would slip a little kaffee in my coffee and then sit back and start a different type of negotation. *asari renegade interrupt*

But that isn't why no blue babies for EW Shepard. She just has no desire to have children with Liara ... none. And Liara (in my universe only) has no desire to have children with her or anyone in this stage of her life. Will that change after ME3? Not that I can see but as I always tell you - "my Shepard's story isn't set in stone until I write it."

Actually writing your story down does make you start to rethink events, ideas and characters. Liara is very opinionated in my head (as I write), more so than Shepard, so when I finish ME3 who knows what the game or Liara will inspire after the reapers are defeated.

There is so much that could happen in the game that we don't see coming ... and I am hoping that there are many surprises that I have to deal with. Betrayels I didn't see coming, alliances that I'd never dreamed of, fallen teammates in battle that make me misty-eyed, planets lost to total destruction ... If these are all well written and thoughtfully  presented then I am along for the ride.

And I'm not joking about the asari renegade interrupt ... its brutal!  Posted Image

Are you mad? Mind sex with an asari sounds freaking awesome to me. I'd definitely hit it if I got the chance. :pinched:

It isn't that different from real sex. 95% of sex is in your head anyway. ;)

I would say yes, good sex is almost always mental.  Without it, you can't let yourself go.  :P

Letting someone up into my mind carte blanche sounds like madness to me.

In real life I wouldn't give someone complete access to my bank acount or confide all of my deepest darkest thoughts ... I probably have things up there that I don't even know are there. So looking at someone else (alien or not) and saying, "Okay ... I trust you to be in my mind since I will have a rad O ... No. Not gonna happen."

And while each of our minds do participate in the sexual act ... that participation is "your thoughts" up there. Not someone else manipulating your mind or your nerve endings from inside. That is giving complete control over to another being. Now some people have no problem with that (I tip my hat to you) while others have bounderies that melding clearly crosses.

If others have no problem in opening up their mind to another being and saying "Bonzai!" ... I have no problem with their choice, it just wouldn't work for me. For me and my private thoughts ... Sex is not enough. Even great sex. I can just imagine the conversation that I would have with an asari if we were attracted to one another.

Melding is a free fall ... Some people like jumping out of planes and some don't. To each his own. Posted Image

tbh, I can see where PMC65 is coming from; certain ... things ... I revealed while I was still at school after being humiliated about them has made me extremely closed about anything ever since then so I don't even tell my closest friends any secrets really.

Then to get mindraped and Liara to find out this stuff, and probably a load of other twisted sh*t that goes on in my head (whatever it may be) would just be ... unsettling.

That's the thing I find so awesome about the whole mind sex thing; it's far easier to sleep with someone (as in sex in human terms) than to let them know our most intimate things about ourselves.
For me, personally, that would be far harder as I am rather private individual. But in case of Liara, there is no forceful requirements - it's about two people in love who trust each other completely, who don't know quite where it's taking them but are convinced this is what they both want.

It's about one's willingness to become and remain vulnerable. I can see how Liara wasn't kidding when she said it can be a life-changing event. I'd die to be able to experience such thing for just once in my life, to be able to share things like that.

Technically, I doubt Liara or you will be learning anything. In the book, it's described as just an experience. Nothing more. After all, if the asari that Greyson was dating wanted to learn that he once worked for Cerberus, she would have known on one of the nights. But she didn't. So no one really gains info from sex, besides who's better. And her job was to learn all about him, and didn't learn anything besides "He's a nice guy".

Having boundaries and understanding what they are in your life is healthy. We all have limits and for me giving carte blanche of my mind to another soul is way beyond that limit. If labeling that a "trust issue" helps you understand it ... I'm good with that.

But if one would not hand over their checkbook (finances) to another soul that they are dating but hand over their mind (all their thoughts, dreams, secrets) ... hmmm. I would hand my checkbook over first.

She's handing her mind to you at the same time. It simple comes down to you not trusting her with you mind.

It's like if your wife is willing to share her secrets, but you're not willing to do the same. She trusts you. You don't.
