Ooooh, her! Ha, how could I be so dense! :D Honestly, I never cared much about the identity of Liara's father, but I really liked Aethyta, she is so different from the other Asari in game. I wonder if she has a role of sorts to play in ME3.

She's also the only Asari we've seen so far that favors changing Asari ways to take action (Improving military power and getting their daughters working earlier) to the traditional Asari standards (merc band or stripping in a bar for a few 100 years - which no Asari mother seems to see as a problem). A trait that can also be seen in Liara by her desire to start studying Protheans at an early age while normal Asari of her age would join a merc band for money.

I wonder how this trait was passed onto Liara. Perhaps Benezia had similar ideas to Aethyta but was more diplomatic about it (Aethyta doesn't seem to be too diplomatic) and raised Liara accordingly?

I think Aethyta was very vocal about her thoughts and beliefs on the asari and the way they spend their youths.
I think Benezia agreed with them and that's where their mutual attraction came from, resulting in romance and ultimately in Liara, but I think Benezia kept quiet about what she really thought to protect her status, and Aethyta left, as to not to compromise her. That's just my guess though.
As far as is she Liara's real father?
Well there are these pros:
1. Aethyta claims to have a pureblood daughter
2. She said it didn't work out with her bondmate and she had to leave
3. She stares at a picture of Liara while she drinks (in LotSB files)
I doubt the devs would have left this many hints just to throw it all away.

Considering the demo was hacked, I suggest anyone who reads any of the story information that was leaked to put spoiler tags in what they write. I'm sure there's a lot of people here who don't want to be spoiled, yet don't want to exit the forum for 4 months.

I've read the leaked info and I was just planning on avoiding discussing it here.

I think it's pretty easy to hide your posts by selecting the darkest gray color available and people can highlight it.

Edit:  Testing....  like this!

Sadly spoiled myself for a couple of things. Kinda bad, but unlike the ME2 spoilers this was my own damn fault. :pinched:

without actually specifying them, how big actually are the ME3 spoilers?

I mean, I watched the co-op gameplay and the demo footage released over the weekend but tbh that's where I've drawn the line, I don't want to see any more story spoilers.

Some of them are major. Major as in motivations of the antagonist revealed. Others tell what your squadmates are doing.

Please try your best to avoid them. Or you will end up like me! Unable to experience any joy out of ME3.

I've been good and not watched or read anything.  I want jaw dropping expressions on my face come March.  Like I did with ME2.

When I play ME3 through for the very first time, I want to cry, laugh, scream, shout, jump up and down and everything, maybe you got my point :P, I just want to feel and experience that amazing story and I want everything to be surprise before I've played it. That's why I want to avoid those spoilers and so far I've succeeded, but there is still 4 months to go an if there's gonna be other leaks avoiding all of them can be hard  but I'll try my best.

I'd say the spoilers are pretty freakin huge if they are all true.

Without going into specifics or spoilers ... if you are looking for a real hard hitting story and love all the characters then what Casey said about this being "War" was no lie.

Reading the spoilers for me makes me really want this game in my hand, a bottle of whiskey by my side and plenty of kleenex. Think ME1 turned up a thousand regarding choices and no "Disney-lite" options. And previous choices will have impact to the game.

*Casey & his team weren't lying about the awesomeness*

Some will hate it and some of us will freakin' love the story & choices that Casey's team has created.

Buckle up because this will be a bumpy ride ... I cannot wait for the game! Posted Image

Ehh, I dunno about that.  I read the notes.  There are some spoilers but, frankly, they don't include much that I hadn't already figured out long since.

True. But it still kinda sucks and there were a few suprises that I would prefer not to know about. :(

"EDIT"

There is a small spoiler about Liara that I feel wold make most people quite happy, it is relativly minor but I do not wish to offend anybody. PM if your more curious.

 A surprise?
What surpr- NO! Must resist temptation for spoilers... :pinched:

Nobody has posted too much of a spoiler that I've seen, but still things I'd rather been surprised with. I should really stay away from BSN for fear of someone spoiling something major in thread title, but I caaan't....
I guess some of us are having the same problem?

Casey tweeted something about it. He said someone was spreading shenanigans and he didn't sound happy. The hacked info was on a russian site but it was taken down. My guess is there's a lot there that isn't true. Nevertheless I do not want to see them, like many people here, but don't want to leave these forums for 4 months so please don't mention those story spoilers here.

Just the fact you said it makes people happy is enough for me. I do not need nor wish to hear any more details, but this sounds nice:). Luckily, Skyrim launches in 4 days. It'll make avoiding spoilers for ME3 a whole lot easier.

I'm cool with the spoilers if you tag them and hide them. It's just very risky to go on other threads at the moment, because some users discuss them openly.
The BSN is dangerous. ^^

I'll be staying in this thread for a while. Hot linking it so I don't need to go past the rest of the forums. This stuff will hopefully blow over soon, though it's sad this happened. BioWare was doing such a great job keeping heavy spoilers out of the marketing, now look what happened.

@EternalSea
In fact I do have a link to Casey's tweet...

*rummages around a bit*

Ah. Here it is.

ETA: Definitely sounds like much of the information that's being spread around is false, either deliberately or the actual meaning was lost in translation or interpretation. I'll be avoiding the spoilers either way though.

I don't mind looking at screenshots, but I can wait until I play to know things.  Or I'm resisting right now.   If I stay only on this thread, I should be fine.

Anyone know when in January the demo is going to be available?  Knowing me, I'll play it nonstop.
