And if the world just happens to be saved by a lesbian? So it'd just a lesbian's power.

No, no. It would be by the Power of Love. That's both applicable and politically correct.

Love knows no genders. Or species barriers, which prevent lesbian relationships with Liara. So really, your Shepard would be a xenophile, not a lesbian in this case.

Now that we are on the topic of games to pass the time untill ME3, I was wondering whether to get Final Fantasy XIII, mostly in order to hear some of Ali Hillis as Lightning and was wondering whether anyone here had played it for either the same or other reasons and could tell me whether it is good, beyond our blue goddess' voice actor.

If you like Final Fantasy, then go ahead - I'd say you'd enjoy it.
Voice acting is well done and the story's more or less a typical FF tale, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing
Gameplay isn't too bad and you can get into it, it just lacks variation and the linear 'between moment' areas can begin to grate on you, but it does open up nicely once you reach what is essentially Hyrule Field; a kinda 'sandbox' world-map.
And it's graphics, particularly the cutscenes, are brilliant done
So, yeah, I enjoyed it, but I've only played through it the once and don't really plan on doing it again. But I don't regret it

Hope that helps in some way

Thanks for that and to everybody else as well, I have never played any of the FF games, but I will have to see about it Image IPB

I'm totally behind lesbian power saving the world.

That's sexist.

Look, I had to work with speciesist terrorists to save the galaxy. You can handle lesbians.

I can totally handle lesbians. I even handle you.

Claiming that it should be lesbian power in particular that can/should save the world is the problem here.

So lesbian power is off-limits but terrorist power is totally fine?

Terrorism doesn't discriminate by gender. :innocent:

We got to be progressive here, Zil! Imagine if the galaxy were organized along gender orientation and favoritism!

And if the world just happens to be saved by a lesbian? So it'd just a lesbian's power.

Which doesn't suggest that her power is uniquely lesbian in nature. She's the best space marine ever and happens to be a lesbian.

So that's where CDProjekt got it from:pinched:

I know you're joking, but CDP is probably the most talented and visionary studio out there at the moment, even putting FF crap in same post as CDP is heresy! :)

Lightning is a good character, and Ali does a good job with her. She's a different character then Liara, and it's a different performance. She's a good example of a strong female protagonist. Fang is also a good character.

Vanille on the other hand, is an example of one of the most annoying morons in gaming history. Sure there's someone that's more annoying. But that doesn't stop me from wanting her dead. And the worst part is, it's mostly her story

Chilax, dude. Life's a ride, and games are just a twist or a small turn in the track.

Everything's kewl, brah - have you not seen dem eyes?

I think - think - that, put simply, sexual orientation doesn't matter if you're saving the galaxy, some people liked FFXIII whilst other's didn't, and everyone likes Liara's blue

I don't care for the combat style, but I do love Hillis' work as Lightning.  I will admit.  I'm stuck.  I can't bet past this one battle.

Wow. I realized that Liara has the exact same soulless, distant eyes and fixed plastic smile if she's in lingerie as she does in that previous image.

Personally, more paragon, since her quest for veangance has been fulfilled, and she aslo seemed alot more paragonish at the end of the dlc especially if in romance and invited to the normandy "for drinks", which I assume include most here.

ya she had me a little worried during her quest she seemed ready to smear the hostage if it ment she got to vasir but it was interesting to see liara being the bad bi*ch for once

This has been discussed (calmly and not so calmly :P) before of course.
If you take game terms I think it pretty much ends up like this:
ME1 Liara - Paragon. A moral compas (unless you have Kaidan the boyscout in your party with her)
ME2 Liara - Paragade. Will make sacrifices to get to her goal (She was very ice queen during ME2 and the majority of the dlc but she gets better when the Broker is dead and Feron is resqued)

Just poking my head in to say 'hi fellow Liarasexuals' (an LDG affectation, never mind me) and 'so this is where the action is'. I seriously didn't know the reason for the ME2 Liara thread dying out, call me crazy.

I wouldn't go THAT far as to calling them THE most talented studio out there, but I do really love and appreciate their work. I think it's in no small part thanks to them being a European company and not owned by a large publisher. If EA was at the rudder, they would've wanted the overly sexual (You know which ones I'm talking about) encounters in TW2 taken out or heavily censored for fear of affecting their image negatively. Also there seems to be a huge stigma in the USA against sexual content in games, there's no such thing in Europe.:)

The ME2 forum died out when the ME3 forum was launched. Jlb opted to have the ME2 thread moved to the ME3 forum but Priestly told her to create a new thread because it would invite new people, so here's a new thread. I think it's coming together nicely by now. Approaching the 400th page and with it, 10.000 posts.
