Or you could remove the damn spoilers already? We do not want them here<_<

I wouldn't read too deep into what was posted ... I wouldn't even call the drafts "spoilers" considering what was released were incomplete outlines of "potential" missions. There is a post elsewhere of data that was released pre-M2 and it is hilarious reading what was drafted because a great portion of it never made it to the final product.

The scenes also do not take reflect potential relationships, previous decisions, etc so they are missing so much of the meat ... For me what the rough drafts did show is that Casey and his team are going to be giving us a hard hitting story and that they are not looking for easy scenes. War baby!

It will be interesting to play the game and then look back at what was taken from the beta. I have a feeling like the ME2 files there will be little of these "missions" in the game. Or the missions will change based on your previous choices and relationships.

Based on tweets prior to this leak the stories (romance dialogues, etc) were still being re-written and VA's being called back to record. So even the writers were still tweaking and changing the story.

It's like writing fan fiction to me. If someone looked at outlines that I have done for A Thessian's Whisper and then look at what I've published it is like night and day in some areas. Ideas I had were thrown out, other ideas were moved around in the timeline, characters switched, etc. I even talk to one of my readers sometimes on where the story is headed and then change it when I go to put pen to paper. She asks what happened to the way that I said it would go and my answer is always "until it is published anything can and probably will change."

I'm taking the leaked data as an example of how the writers & Casey are shading the story but nothing more. I may or may not see the missions in the final product ... but even if I do it will still be new. With the graphics, music, paragon/renegade interrupts, my Shepard, relationships, prior choices in ME1 & ME2 now in the mix the scene will play different then the "generic" piece I read.

But that is just my two cents as usual. Posted Image

Still, I'd rather avoid any potential spoilers, whether they are mostly true, partially true or mostly false. I just want to know as little as possible about the general plot of the game, without having to stay away from the BSN. I can't stop people from posting them on these forums, but I expect those who did read the 'spoilers' to have the decency to keep them away from people who haven't. Not everyone wants to see them and I hate having to scroll through the Liara thread very carefully for fear of spoilers being among the replies. So I got a little worked up over that particular post.

I agree that the "leaks" should not be posted in this thread and Chris P. has warned people that they will be banned if they do so. The Ash thread highlights that fact and the OP there does not tolerate any mention of the information being posted on that thread.

Maybe we should add a tag to our name like the Ash thread has to remind people that these "unofficial" documents are not to be revealed in this thread. After all there are threads dedicated solely to discuss them elsewhere.

I want to avoid all spoilers too. Even if all of them were false, I don't want to risk being spoiled. I want to have full ME3 experience, meaning everything I know about the story before playing is either something I've figured out by myself or something we've figured out together here in the Liara thread, not through plot leaks and spoilers of any kind. If someone wants to discuss about those spoilers I hope they can do it some where else, or use private messages or something, or at least if nothing else include big big big spoiler warnings. I'd really appreciate that.

Now that I think about it, if Liara died in ME3 I would probably shout 'Noooo!' so hard, the neighbours would come round to see what's wrong. That and I'd need a box of tissues.

I would wish I could do that but my little brother and in all likelyhood my father will be watching my first playthrough and I just can't get emotional when other people are around, the primary reason I far prefer to play alone.

It's also the only thing that'll make me reload an earlier save. I promised myself I would play the entire game without reloading if something doesn't go according to plan, although I'm making an exception for Liara getting killed, in which case I will reload.Posted Image

Same here, I can't recall ever reload (except when dying of course) on the first playthrough, but I would not be able to play through the game knowing that Liara died and I could have prevented it Posted Image. Then its reload time, no matter how far back that save is, restarting the game if that is what is required Posted Image.

I've developed some sort of reflex that lets me auto save the game. I always put the quicksave button on F5 and I periodically press it, I have been doing it for so long it happens almost spontaneously now. So whenever something goes wrong I can be almost 100% sure there's a quicksave very close to the point I am now.:pinched:

I think the hardest part of getting Liara killed (after watching her die of course - I couldn't do that) is when you're back on the Normandy. You do a quick trip around the Normandy, suddenly finding yourself in the room where Liara used to reside. Now it's empty... a chair and computer are all that remind you of who was once there. :crying:

I don't know if I've posted this here already or not, but here's something I made some months ago, rushed work but I'm very impatient. Liara is one helluva character.

Yeah, and it better be available as soon as you meet Liara again.

*jlb spends the first 2 hours of ME3 repeatedly clicking on Shepard's bed to replay the Shepard/Liara cuddle scene again and again and again and again...*

*ratz does the exact same thing*

Ok, I can relate to being impatient, but that's rushed? No matter, it looks great!

I agree with that, Rob.  If people start posting spoilers on this thread, I'll stop popping in before March.  The only thing I really want to know isn't story driven.  What I want to know is exactly how is the import going to work.  I know we'll get to pick which Shepard we want to use, but will be be able to pick which file within that Shepard's save file.  If I knew that, I would set up one of my Shepard's with two different files for different actions concerning Liara.  One is where tool femShep broke off with Garrus and stayed with Liara or have another save where tool femShep stays with Liara after breaking off with Garrus then gets with Thane.

I know, I know.  I'm evil  This is tool Shepard.  She is bound to mess things up with Liara.

I've been doing this since I first played Dragon Age 2. Initially it had a bad habit of crashing during the loading screens.

Also if anyone spoils my ME3 experience, I will destroy them.

I will make it my mission in life.

OMG that is wonderful work!Well done!

I have a question, is there a way to romance Liara in ME2 if you don't have ME1? If so how?

There is no way to romance Liara in vanilla ME2, but there are other ways to do it:
You need to buy at least the Genesis Comic.
If you have the PC version, you could download a savegame where Shepard romanced Liara.
And the last solution for the PC version: use gibbed to edit the ME2 savegame.
Personaly I bought ME1 to romance Liara and it was worth it. ;)

[Edit] But it would be awesome if they record two versions of the romance for ME3. One for the Shepards who romanced her since ME1 and one romance for the new players.

Hey what's happening in this thread? I don't keep up with it as much as I'd like to and I don't want to read each post from the past couple of days for fears of spoilers, though I can tell there's some discussion on whether to talk about them or not.
While we're on that subject, can anyone tell me (without going into huge detail) if the spoiler situation is good for Liara or not? Maybe even that's asking too much. Ok how about this? Those of you who have seen the goods, what do you think of what they're doing with her? Like it? It's pretty obvious she's Bioware's favorite so I doubt they'd do her wrong. On the other hand this IS the endgame...

I am hoping you can romance Liara without having to do so from ME1.  My angry single femShep has a crush on T'Soni and would very much like to be with her, but if not, she'll stay very single.  Unless someone else catches her eye.  Which as of right now, there isn't one.  B)

Please don't give people an incentive to post spoilers here, if you truly want to know, ask around on some of the spoiler threads or in the spoiler discussion group (can't remember the exact name but just search for it). Priestly said not to repeat any of the leaked content on the forums, those posting spoilers anyway may get banned for it.

The devs said a long time ago that there are no forced deaths, you will be able to keep any individual squadmember alive, but it may be at the cost of someone else. So yes, it'll be possible to keep Liara alive. Which is how it's going to be in all my PT's

I don't want spoilers. However if anyone has read spoilers on Liara I'd just like their opinion on whether they like what they saw. And I'm not just concerned with death. I'd also like to know if they thought her character had growth or tampering and their opinion on that. If that still reveals too much, then forget it I guess. I won't go into a thread/group specifically for spoilers for fear of spoilers.
