I always feel alone, because I love all my Squadmates.
Love all the people
I even let Fist go, that loveable, two-timing, back-stabbing scamp

I played ME2 first, so I kind of don't have any particular attachment to Ash or Kaidan. I feel kind of left out of the hate
Anyway, does anyone else think Liara might have a tiny bit of an obsession with Shepard. I sometimes get that feeling, its a little weird.
I feel so odd, being someone who has only played ME2..

I never thought Liara was anything like obsessed, although I know others (Liara-haters, mostly) think as much.
When Liara looks into Shep's background in ME1, it was just her initial attraction. And like how Tali puts it in the second game, what young woman wouldn't be attracted to a dashing soldier who rescues her and then takes her off on space adventures?

Love = Mutual obsession? Maybe. If you think about it, you must be obsessed with each other to want to spend everyday together (whether it would be for conversations, sex, ect or all of it). Kids obsessed with bands put pictures/posters on their bedroom walls, replace bands with pictures of a person and the teen with an adult. Obsession is sometimes looked at as some kind of 'bad' thing but it works in the case of love if it's mutual.

Psychiatric disorder? Nah. Just a lot of love that could not be justified unless explained. Like during ME1, if the only conversations that Ms. Liara and Shep had were the ones shown in-game than yes, borderline crazy obsession. But actually, they talked waaay more and had loving moments during their time together (that aren't shown in the game because it would be too slow-paced for alot of people). Some people assume the only conversations they ever had together were shown, and it makes people believe she's nuts for the Shep, in an unhealthy manner. Romance isn't really a delusion unless one of the two parties doesn't want it but the other seems to think it's really there ..which brings in obsession. Love is an obsession.. person, thing, or action can be part of it. If you want to spend every day playing video games, it's an obsession...which can be considered unhealthy or healthy depending on who you're talking to. Love is normally not considered an obsession but if you think about it.. it's a mutual obsession that's considered healthy for each other because the emotions it brings out in someone.

Had you played ME1 first your perspective would likely be different as you would have had a reference point and context.
If you are equating attraction or love with obsession then I suppose so however Liara does question Shepard in ME1 about feeling something between them so it's not like she is lurking or stalking. She says what she feels and pretty much stays consistant with that.
Let me ask you this though. If you characterize attaraction as obsession is it still obsession if the feeling of attaraction is mutual ? If so then are you saying that love is nothing more than a mutual obsession ?

If your just a friend, would you really go to such lengths to bring someone back? That's the way I look at it. Then the armour in her apartment.
Your right, and I'm trying to get through ME1 now but it's a pain. As someone who is no good at shooters, I find ME1 is harder.
@KumQuats
I never tought about it that way, you have a point. The other thing could be, that link they did to get clarity to shep's visions. Correct me if I'm wrong but woulden't that kind of stay with her?
Also is Liara/Femshep more popular then Liara/MShep?
It reminds me a bit of the crab bucket phenomenon, where if a crab tries to crawl out of a bucket, other crabs will pull it back down.ratzerman wrote...
There was a time, way back on the old bioboards, when the Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara fans all hung out together. Seeing them now fighting with eachother makes me sick.
I hope Mac Walters is happy.

So if I understand you correctly then Liara's feelings toward Shepard could not really be considered obsessive if Shepard feels the same way about her.
