@TMA LIVE, I doubt they would do the storyline with LI and characters that could be dead.
It they do it, it's an NPC you would never suspect.
But overall they should drop that, it's not like Shepard never gets backstabbed. Maybe not by his squad, but by the NPCs.

I can see her punching too, but not just because a reporter says something lame. She would either dress her down or walk away.

Liara doesn't hit things, she only slaps them with a Singularity, like father like daughter xD
Still I think she would rather come up with a witty insult that causes her offenders to break their tables and throw them at her (looking at you Shadow Broker)

Well Kasumi had her insta kill punch in ME2, don't see a reason why Liara's shouldn't utilise the new "Biotic blade" as we were promised, the questions is just, how and under which circumstances does she use it.

As far as the punching the reporter goes... I think everyone just doesn't like Khalisah al-Jilani. xD

It would be cool if they had. If only to make them slightly less useless in CQC where they have a tendency to die (execpt for Grunt). The squadmates should obviously say something if they preform a melee attack (like they when using any powers) but I don¨t think Liara should say a one-liner. Something more "Matter-of-fact" will seem more in-character.

Could work a bit like Grunt's charge, which isn't a useable ability it just happens when an enemy's close enough. Probably need to tweak the AI so Liara doesn't charge straight into enemies like a mad krogan, she'd use it more defensively, but it could work.
