The romance content in LotSB was only available to pre-existing romances. I would've preferred that to continue in ME3.  If someone can enter the franchise at the end, and get just as much romance content as someone who has been loyal to Liara thoughout the trilogy, that just seems a little unfair to me. Now if there is unique and additional scenes/dialogues for a continuing romance, then it won't be as much of a problem for me.

Well, if there's dialog at the beginning that pertains to the continuing romance that wouldn't show up in a new romance.

I think both romance paths will get one official 'love scene' at the end...I'd hope they'd be different, though.

If I may ask, why?

The romance content in LotSB was only available to pre-existing romances. I guess I can understand that. I hope that there's extra content for carried-over romances with Liara myself. It does seem weird that it appears that some squadmates can be romanced anew in ME3 while others can't though.

Like seriously, if you didn't get the option in 2 *without the comic* why should  the new players in 3 get it. What was the point of goign through the romance, and staying loyal, if you can just romance her in ME3 anyway.

Her skin tone looks sickly in the new shots. Maybe it is too make he rlook more like..her father.. who knows.

On the upside the dialouge is better if you romanced her in previous games.More heartwrenching too..

What do you mean what's the point? You've been with her for 3 games. How is ME1 and LOTSB pointless?

You saying this scene has no point to it for staying with Liara?

You might simply wish to roleplay the romance differently.

In ME1...let's say Shepard wasn't quite ready to get into a romance with Liara.  I mean, if you think about it...they didn't know each other for all that long.  I know some people like to move quickly with these sort of things but others don't.

You could also be roleplaying a Shepard that's never been with a non-human before in a romantic way and the thought of doing so is a bit odd to them.  Now here's a non-human that you haven't known for for all that long approaching you...you probably won't be open to that idea.  Over time, this can change and having a 'new' ME3 romance will allow you to RP it as such.

Basically, it's good for those that prefer a slower romance progression (like me).  I will have two imports ready to try out both versions at least....I just have to decide which one I want to do first.

I don't put that much throught into it, honestly. I know it's terrible, but the first RPG I completed was pkm blue. The first 'full' rpg I played was FFX. SO I'm used to fixed characters..

That is one of the best msheps I have seen (from what I can see)

Well it would be pointless, if you went back and played just for the sake of  romance variables.(Which I have only managed to do once, as mshep to get ash)

Apparently since then and me3 'its been over half a year, since they saw eachother'

Havent you ever just made a random Shepard... and he/she feels like they should be with someone else? I just recently made a new female Shepard, engineer (ME1) to get some achievements I've been too lazy to get... and I played her once through both ME1 and 2 (Infiltrater in 2)... then went back to ME1 to player her again for the hardcore achievement.. (man did that take me some time to do).. and she didn't feel right for Liara...

To say I was like utterly confused was an understatement... even when I had once made a manshep I romanced Liara cause I <3 her so much... this time though this Shepard romanced Kaidan, man it felt odd but for the sake of this Shepard right O_o;

anyways to keep up with it all I decided to play ME2 again with this new save for my Shepard to see what it was like... never played LotSB with Liara as just a friend before... it was really odd I totally expected her to kiss my Shep and when it didn't happen I just sat there like

Hmnn, nope. I'm not particularly attached to any of my shepards. The only time I went  was when I went through as mshep.

anyway I saw this on tumbler and since it is Liara related; link

Aw really?  I'm very attached to my one Shepard (to the point I can't really make another).

2 characters, but multiple versions of them. 2 of those versions I don't want to change anything. Which makes things hard, since I really want to play Mass Effect again, but don't want to change anything, and was happy with the current versions I have.

Because I'm happy with what happened. And I don't want that to change till I play ME3.

A lot of things were done on a certain mindset, or were done based off what I knew or thought I knew back then.

Example, my original playthroughs on ME2 had my Shepard romanced Tali, and then breaking up with her to be with Liara again in a real relationship.

However, on new playthroughs after LOTSB, the romance with Tali never happened.

Which I always have mixed feelings about. I removed a flaw with my Shepard's history and character, just to make a more perfect history with Liara. I want my playthroughs to be honest, where whatever happened, happened. Whereas if I start a new version, I'm just either redoing what I already did, or I'm making a more perfected version based off what I know now, or how I feel about things now.

Another example, is that I don't like picking the "garbage" line, or the obsess line. I did before LOSTB, but I don't like to pick those lines anymore.

Another example: Not saving all your crew. On my very first playthrough, people like Kelly died. But on later playthrough, I perfected it, and saved them all.

It's funny, one day I was playing ME2 with my main Shepard Katelyn.... when Liara was explaining how Shep ended up with Cerberus, and said she was sorry, I accidently picked the "You did this to me!" line... suddenly it felt more realistic, for that Shepard...

Now whenever I play Katelyn Shepard she gets mad, which I actually wrote out why in a one shot fanfic (link to my page is in my sig if you're interested). But to me it seemed... more like that particular Shepard to get more emotional about it... Like she stops thinking right because everything has been confusing and chaotic and to figure out why you were brought back from the dead, she just snaps, blames Liara, and storms off.

It's also the same for the cabin scene in LotSB... I use to always pick the "I'd need something special to come back to" line for Katelyn... now it just seems more... well realistic and less teasing and dodgy to say, "I'm always coming back."

that's just me though lol.

You should simply make a new Shepard, and play it a little differently, that way you arent ruining those save files you wanna keep hold of till ME3... tis what I always end up doing lol.. I got like.. six or seven Shepards o_o

Why can't you simply roleplay in these flaws?

I often pick options I personally don't like if it suits the character.

Awww seriously? You don't get even a little attached to any of your Shepards? I love my Shepards... well most of them anyways... like Katelyn! She's my favorite... Not so goody goody, and has a questionable past, and never took the time to enjoy anything, and would get the mission done first, and worry about the consequences later (Basically renegade)...

Hates Batarians, doesnt let anyone get close to her... till she met Liara <3

Then everything started to change for her, love Katelyn's story. Still renegade for the game's sake but in my stories she starts to turn more paragon but with attitude lol

then Elizebeth Shepard.. another one I created a loooong time ago... xD I nicknamed her my Bald Shep (has the buzz cut). Colonist, Sole Survivor, also had a hard time letting people get close but for different reasons from Katelyn. Always quiet, like a hint of shy, and would never harm an innocent. Liara snuck her way in though, of course..

Then there's my newest Shep that I've actually grown attached to. Milla Shepard, she's a spacer kid, war hero, mostly paragon with a hint of renegade (when someone pushes the wrong button anyways lol). She's witty, humorous, generally likes helping people out, makes friends easily with others, out going. She falls for Kaidan in ME1 but after Horizen she felt... heart broken and then ends up growing close to Thane.

I love making stories @.@ -rambled there a bit-

But I already have. I made the best renegon Femshep with the most different outcomes I could make. I don't feel like I could do better till I know how the story ends. And whatever little things I'd want to fix, I won't know if I want to fix them till ME3.

I just don't want to repeat myself, or make uselss Maleshep or Femshep characters that I'm just going to delete or forget about later.

Now you're jut looking for excuses not to play our favorite game pffft.

Just make a new Shepard, and play... it's not as difficult as it sounds, and who know you may end up liking it in the end. I didn't think I'd like my newest Shep too much but turns out I did.

Looks kinda different structurally but that might be optical illusion.

Looks like an updated version of ME1 Liara to me. If the final ingame look will be something like that, I'm more than happy ^_^
