I'm against the idea of allowing new players to romance Liara in ME3, unless there are separate "new" and "continuing" romance tracks. By lumping them both together, it cheapens everything that happened in ME1 and ME2. It would be like Bioware saying that nothing in Liara's past matters. Just go ahead of shag her, newbs!

Why is most of the fanart FemshepXLiara? Poor Mshep gets left out. Posted Image

Because the majority of Liara lovers (or so I've noticed) are femShep players

I'm against using the same romance tracks for any of the LI's.  I think that someone who romanced X in ME2 should have a different relationship than someone who romanced X in ME3, even if all it means are a few lines here and there get changed.  Granted the underlying theme of 'I care about you' will remain the same, but there should be some acknowledgement of any romantic history between the pair.

Definitely. There should be a big difference between being Liara's friend, and being Liara's long time lover. Like a back massage.

They'd almost have to do it that way...it would be kind of odd to ignore past history in one path just to create a generic path that fits both old and new.  I think they could do it if they put the effort into it.  Part of me thinks they will do this in order to give new fans (who jumped in at either ME2 or ME3) a chance to romance them...unless they will add new LIs for them...don't really know.

*I personally prefer the option to start the romance up in ME3 as I like the pacing much better and will take that if offered*

You mean like they did with the ME1 replacement comic?

Yeah... bad enough that's coming back, with ME2 adding in to complete the combo.

Shepard: I met an asari during my hunt for Saren. She was very... interesting. Kaidan/Ash seemed concerned.

A) Romance Liara

B) Romance Kaidan/Ash

C) Focus on the mission.

Shepard: The asari wanted to go into my mind. So I let her, and experience a completley new sexual experience. It was perfect.

--

Shepard: I was heartbroken after meeting Liara. I didn't know what to do. She seemed different. Many of my crew felt my pain... and more.

A) Tali

B) Jack

C) Miranda

D) Focus on the mission

Shepard: The perfect Miranda wanted my body. And I wanted hers. So we gave into each other. And I felt something I haven't felt in a long time.

I then re-ran into Liara, and helped her become the new Shadow Broker. But she found out that I moved on.

A) Romance

B) End it

Shepard: But I couldn't let her go, so I gave into her as well. It was amazing.

Shepard: Miranda still doesn't know.

I have it for both my PC and Xbox.  I bought it for XBox, so I could create a different Shepard that didn't have all the renegade options already picked.  Which I found more annoying than the comic.  Even though, the comic is bad.  Made Liara look like she was in high school and had a crush.  URGH.  She didn't act like that in the game.

I don't have ME1 on PC, just the free copy I go of ME2 for getting DA2 in the first month.  Now that I think my laptop is working properly again, I can start my game and hopefully finish it.

I do hope they don't use a "comic" to bring everyone up to speed in ME3, because the art from Dark Horse sucks bad.

It's especially noticible in the fanfiction actually. for every 10 femshepXliara fanfics there will be one maleshepXliara.

I'm ok with being a minority though, although some fanart would be nice ^^

You know what I thought would be hilareous/awkward in ME3?
Lets say Aethita is indeed Liara's "father" and before Liara and Shepard find that out, Shepard just happened to come to the bar and Aethita didn not clean it... xD

I agree with what I bolded there 100%.  They need to give those that stayed faithful to Liara or VS something special.  It was mentioned during the load screens that not remaining faithful could have dire consequences.

It's not so bad lol. Got the LoSB DLC included so it's coolbeans. :)

Played the first game on the PC so I didn't miss out much apart from the side missions which reflect in ME2 which I got to see in my free copy on PC which I got from the DA2 promotion hehe.

You knew what you were missing.  Not everyone has played it on PC or Xbox.  I have ME and ME2 for my Xbox.  I have ME2 on PC.  I have preordered the CE for Xbox.  Not sure what I'm going to do about PC yet.  Probably wait until it drops in price.  I'm not paying $80 for the CE and another $50 for the PC.  Not right away anyway.

And the comic was bad.  Made my favorite character look like she was in a high school romance.  Annoying to say the least.

That's true but if you don't know about/experience something you can't miss it lol.

So I don't think PS3 players feel too bad about it. If they think mostly every thing is covered in the comic then it's ok for them because if you don't know about the side stuff then you won't miss it.

They did make the Rachni queen seem more evil in the comic and I wasn't really a fan of the art work but as a save game generator it's cool for big choices.

One thing I do miss from ME1 going into ME2 is being able to tease Liara, hope they bring that back a bit in ME3.^_^

Do you mean the conversations with her at the beginning of the romance?
Where Liara is very socially awkward and very cute at the same time? :)
I think it was either the first or the second time when you talk to her and tell her "sounds like you want to dicect me on a table" and the second time when you say "sounds amazing, are you implying..." and she replies with something like "Oh! Oh no! Goddess no!" xD I always thought those were the best parts of the conversations... and the whole game lol.

Yeah those parts where some of the best lol.

I don't think it will possible to do that sort of thing in ME3 as she's been around people more now so a she's a lot less awkward and she's abit of smooth talker when it comes to Shepard as shown in the cabin scene in LoTSB.

Still I wouldn't mind Shepard trying. :D

"I only meant that you would be an interesting specimen for in-depth study. No, that's even worse.."
Good times..

Pretty much what InfoGuy said though, she's grown out of most of that by now. Hopefully there's room for humour in their new dynamic, but it'll probably be a lot different.

It's not that bad.
Sure, it would have been nice to play ME1 on PS3 instead of PC, but thanks to the comic I could play through ME2 6 times with different decisions from ME1, even though I only played through ME1 twice.

Regarding the femshep discussion, I played as femshep the first time because of the superior voiceacting. However, thanks to Liara I've had to change my canon to a male Shepard. All my male Shepards romance Liara, except for "Evil bastard" Shepard who romanced everyone else. My 2 femsheps didn't romance anyone, it's just not possible.

While Liara is not as socially awkward as she used to be, Shepard can still tease her about the way she used to be, I think fun times are insured ^^
Just think about it:
Shepard: Liara I got you your birthday present.
Liara: Really? What is it Shepard.
Shepard: Oh it's a prothean artifact.
Liara: That's incredible Shepard where did you get it?
Shepard: picked it up on my travels, it's a very unique artifact in great need of an indepth study, I think you will enjoy it.
Liara: I'd love to Shepard, so where is it?
*Shepard strips*
Liara: Oh goddess...

Those prothean beacons did come in handy after all lol
