Actually this is when Liara recovers shep's body for cereberus, and one of my favorite Liara pics. I can only imagine how she's feeling, recovering her lovers dead body and then going to give it away in a small hope that Shep can be brought back to life. The red eyes and tear say it all.

Obviously. Liara is neither Sith, nor a Chiss Admiral, but those are the impressions I get from this picture (Sith from the dark getup and lightning, Thrawn from the high collar and Cerberus logo). I've seen it before and both times it looked like Liara went to the dark side. It's just a different interpretation. To me, this picture depicts an alternate universe where Shepard died and Liara went apesh!t and slaughtered all responsible. The eyes, besides conveying Red Eyes Take Warning, are swirling tornados of grief and rage, too chaotic to make out the exact ratio of each.

Most likely the Virmire Survivor and Liara don't like each other because of the happenings of Redemption. Y'know; with Liara giving Shepard to Cerberus and all that. Ash probably doesn't trust her any more.

I really hope that there will be some dialog between Liara and the VS regarding Redemption, it is too much of an issue to be ignored without damaging the characters.

I really hope that there will be some dialog between Liara and the VS regarding Redemption, it is too much of an issue to be ignored without damaging the characters.

The VS should have concerns ... yes, we know that all ended well but given what Cerberus represents Liara put Shepard's body in the hands of an organization that had done some pretty questionable things. She had pretty much made a deal with the devil, if you will.

That can't be overlooked or brushed under the rug just because it ended well. What happens if Shepard is in dire circumstances again? What is Liara willing to risk? And this takes on more layers if Shepard is with the VS and not Liara. I can see how the VS would have issues.

In my Ash romance story I can see where Ms. Williams is going to have really big concerns about Liara. Not a hatred but a "Why did you do that? What is your ulterior motive?" A part of Ash would be thankful but a bigger part would be angry. Angry at Liara's potential motivation of thinking that she could get Shepard through this act.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out in non-romanced Liara games.

I as a player know that. But the characters in the game should still ask the question, especially a romanced VS who I feel might be slightly emotionally betrayed by Liara not telling anything to them.

I can understand that Liara would not share what she did since even she wasn't sure that it was going to work. But it doesn't make it right either ... once she heard that Shepard was seen alive I can only imagine her stress. In my Ash-romanced game I could almost see her panicking at what the Gunnery Chief is going to do to her,.Never mind Shepard ... Ash is going to know why she did it. It's a woman thing and that showdown on the Normandy was just the beginning ... Liara just did a counter-move in Ashley's eyes.

But I also think that she is the one who reached out and informed Hackett of what she had done and that is why Anderson wasn't full of WTF? You are alive? How, Why, What, Where? She told Hackett, he informed Anderson. But that is strictly in my headcanon and not found in-game. Maybe in ME3 they will retouch on what she did and some of the background events. Or maybe not.

I just love how in this game you can have different backstories going on. It is one of the reasons that going on different threads can open up different ways of seeing the story. I can see where Shepard could hate Liara and where (s)he can love Liara depending on how you play Shepard. You can do that with all the characters. Where I struggle is when the gamer themselves spews hate against any of the characters just to be a creep to their fanbase.

Looking at it from a romanced Ash/Kaidan point of view I can understand the anger. First, Liara's motives are in question and secondly ... guilt. The VS left Shepard's side and while they helped others to the escape pods, they then sat their a5s down and left. Left their lover to die. That has to be a part of their anger as well, guilt. Guilt that they left Shepard, guilt that they didn't save Shepard.

Emotions are a funny thing. Liara loves Shepard (romanced or not) and so that muddies what she did if not romanced. I get that ... There is also the survivor's guilt that the VS must have. It is easier to take all that raw emotion and shove it at another than deal honestly with it .. at least at the start. But I would like to see the VS and Liara work through it. Not sure if that will happen though.

That's why we have fan fiction.

I do not believe that is the case. Anderson seemed distrusting of Shepard in ME2 and concerned he really is with Cerberus, but gives him the benefit of doubt due to their friendship etc.

If Liara did tell Anderson I think he would be more trusting.
