The ME3 stuff I've been able to see so far looks good though. However it appears they're trying to make Liara look a bit too badass (imo) in that shot where she uses a singularity then shoots the two guys while they're up in the air. I hope they're not going overboard with any characters...
Yeah, I agree. It feels a bit out of character.
I disagree. I belive she has developed over the course of the games, and part of that is she is more "in-touch" with her agressive emotions and isent as afraid to follow up and is thus consistant with her character development from ME1 to ME2 and Redemption inbetween. Shes gone through enough combat at this point imo.
My point, she may be aggressive towards her enemies ( like that picture), but we all know how she values her friends and has a friendly side too. This, to me, makes her character more realistic anyway. As in not 1 dimensional imo, complex.
She has her friendly times and her butt kicking times.
I also think we will see her "friendly" side more in ME3, to go along with and contrast her context-appropriate agressive look. Shes already seen chating with the other squad members in what little footage we have and stuff like that.
But also, I kinda like agressive Liara. That assertiveness is Hawt;P
But i also like nerdy old school Liara too:D Smart is Hawt too;P
They can both exist at the same time;P And that is a part of why I Like Liara's character and am a fan. She just seems more complex like that imo.
Totally agree with you!!

;) I like too her aggressive side too because that shows how she has grown in all the series. this is why I like her ruthless:
At the beginning she was alone working in digsites, with no contact with other species, that's why she seemed "nerd old school". After being surrounded by Saren and his geth troops, she fell in a trap and it was one group following the leadership of an human being who saved her, and even let her get aboard their ship.
After travelling with those people she started feeling she had a family, one group in wich she could trust (even if she felt the others didn't trust her), and it was their commander trust in her which made Liara developping some feelings towards the commander (friendship or love, it depends how we play ME)... All that happy days for her ends when collectors destroy her little family, even killing his lover/friend/the only one who trusted her from the beginning.
after 2 years mourning the commander (which include the time spent in Redemption and how she became Info Broker in Illium) Liara had endured the worst part of her live, having to work alone again and with no one who can protect her (ok ok I know she didn't need for protection, but I find it's better fighting in a group that doing it alone) so Liara need to show herself more determined in her goals, even threatening and murdering if necesary.
At the end we have Liara finding again her ancient family (it depends of the SM survivors) and fighting in a war, so I don't expect her to being that "nerd old school" like when we knew her in ME1. As you well say, she'll be baddass, aggresive... (all the adjectives you can call her) with their enemies but she'll be the innocent Liara we remember when she's with her friends
