I like it too.   She needs an agressive side with everything shes being doing and what she has gone through.  She no longer quietly sits in ruins studying rocks.   She has come a long long way over past couple of years to what she once was in ME1.   Certainly dont want to get on her bad side!    

Anyway its fine for her to be really emotional on those romance scenes, but not emotional fighting in an intense battle?  Shes not repressed as we know and she certainly isnt a stoic character.  Its nice to see Bioware have gone to the effort to display this.


But even when mad, she still looks so...   well I cant think of the word

Liara is aggressive. We've seen it before. Like when she threatens people, or her actions in the comic. I just find her pidgin shooting and executing shooting with a pissed expression a bit weird.

Definitely this one. I get that she has an agressive and even ruthless side - as shown in both ME2 cameo and the majority of Lotsb - but this is just an attempt to make Liara look badass. And as much as I adore Liara and think she's awesome, Liara isn't badass and she's not meant to be either. I can't judge Liara's entire ME3 personality on this screenshot obviously but this screen is, to me, completely out of her character.

Of course it could be a different thing: If this is a cerberus goon she's shooting then this mood could be explained. 2,5 years prior she handed Shepard's body over to and trusted Cerberus. Now they're stabbing both her and Shepard in the back. She might be conflicted with herself now for ever trusting them, making her more agressive and particularly against the people she used to trust. If this personality trait manifests more potently in ME3 then I'm hoping for a proper explanation from her as well...

She is looking at someone/something that is trying to kill her Shepard ... trying to take Shepard away from her.

That is not going to happen again in her book ... not without a fight.

She refuses to ever cower again as she watches Shepard risk her life against an enemy.

Or at least in my headcanon that is why she would give that look.

I definitely love her more aggressive side. I think, that screenshot is awesome. Yep, and I agree, that she looks older, but I love it.

I've been thinking about doing the first playthrough with the new default femshep to check out the game, but the urge to import my Liara loyal Shepard first is growing stronger by the day.

I personally find her "darker side" very sexy! Just... Don't go overboard with it okay? Deep down she still has to be the perky scientist we've grown to love! Something they displayed perfectly in LotSB.

For now, that's a decent explanation. Will keep me satisfied until I know what is really going on. And that'd be march 8th.

Fighting for your life and killing people is pretty serious business (not that I would really know anything about that ofc). When some one is trying to kill you and/or your love ones, your facial expressions tend to get kinda pissed off looking, I suppose, so she might as well look like it imo. I guess that piece of video is taken out of a cut scene, so it's not like she would look that angry throughout the whole game.

Maybe she just, for example, found out that since Shep isn't going to play like TIM wanted, he's now trying to get rid of Shepard and that's why Liara is so pissed off. Someone is trying to take Shepard away from her, again and she's here just shooting those Cerberus troops, who were trying to kill Shepard.

And she was smiling in one of those three pics, while the other two (these angry ones) were taken out of the same scene.

So I don't really get what's the big deal, it's just one angry face after all .
