I had this conversation with a Miranda fan, that you need to not fall in love with an idea of a character. You have to like a character for who she is, currently. You have to be willing to accept everything. You can't deny character traits. You don't have to like them, but you have to accept them. Because if those traits become more and more frequent, and you ignore them, then you're not in love with the character. Just the idea. You want this imagine in your head to stay the same, but it ain't.You have to accept that this is who she is, currently. Or don't, and realize she ain't for you anymore.

Btw, laughed at your guys' in depth discussion about whether Liara's boobs are bigger. Maybe its a girl thing, but I didn't even notice!
I'm a girl and I noticed. Then again I do study naked women soSeriously don't worry karmen the romance is fine..
Well... I'm not saying I didn't go back and study the picture after it was pointed out...
You know... gotta make sure I was informed enough about Liara's improved bust size so I could contribute to the conversation after all.

3 yet equal love interests in ME3 huh PMC? You playa.
How was the convention PMC? I'm jealous, I've never been but I totally grew up on Xena! Is that aging me?

Day one there were three of us wearing N7 hoodies, two guys and me ...total Mass Effect fans that I talked to at the CON were three guys and four gals! We all exchanged info so that we could play Co-Op. Yep, 2 Americans, 3 Canadians, 2 Brits total.
The gals all romanced Liara (surprise!) with one, like me, also romancing Ashley. The guys romanced Ashley, Miranda and Tali ... it was great talking about ME with fans of Xena & ME. I also chatted with Adrienne Wilkenson about working with Bioware - she did voice work on SW:TOR and also played Maris Brood in the SW: Unleashed games.
At the CON the ME fans would say "Hello, Commander Shepard" to each other and laugh. And Liara has some Commanders just waiting to play with her again! Three of us gals talked about our FemSheps and Liara relationships. It was really interesting hearing other versions.
Come on March 6th!!!!!![]()
That's kinda ridiculously awesome. ME and Liara are universal!
My friend was complaining about her bf playing Skyrim and ignoring her so I asked her... does he by any chance play Mass Effect? So she texted and asked him. Yup he did! So then I said, text him and ask if he romances Liara! And he did! Very soon my friend got tired of me and her bf having a ME discussion THROUGH her.
PMC - did you meet Lucy or Renee?

You know. Most of the time, I think people take the romances in these games far too seriously.
But, if Liara came out of the screen and looked at me that way, I'd give her anything she wanted.

Ok, I keep just staring at this picture. Its captivating and kinda hypnotizing.
I JUST WANNA GIVE HER A HUG!!!
Seriously though, there is an amazing amount of emotion and facial expression and feeling in this one little animation, more than I've seen in other games.
Then you add in Ali Hillis' voice work... and Liara might be one of the most life-like video game characters ever. IMO.

Who's that new chick?
Also at the end it said coming in 9-3-12 and I kinda freaked out and thought they had pushed back the release to September 3rd and I was going to get upset and wonder why you guys hadn't mentioned it and then I realized that like everywhere else writes their dates day first, then month.
Oops.

Jessica Chobot, she works part time for IGN, and for G4. She's generally on some sort of hosting duty, and is something of an influential female nerd. Probably why she was selected, much like Felicia Day in Dragon Age.

I think she's a much more interesting character now that she's lost the innocence and naivety, and has found a bit of a ruthless streak. It also makes the character seem more authentic, considering all she's been through. She's a combat veteran now.

Apparently the character is a reporter posted on the Normandy. Accoriding to this post you can also kick her off the Normandy.

For those of you who don't know, the name Liara is of Australian origin. There's no direct meaning but Liora, a Hebrew name from which Liara's likely derived, means "My Light."

^ It's more of a practicality issue. Americans speak more from there nose, whilst Australians speak more from their throat. And for some weird reason, Australians shorten each-others names. for example; belinda is shortened to Bel.(And Miranda was shortened to miri)
And the overmphasis of the 'a' sound.
Hay over here= aye ova ere.
But yes the name is AU origin, I thought everyone knew?

Okay so I got to romance her in ME1 and ME2 (I cheated however because I got the Shadow broker DLC after I romanced Miranda as a one off fling, which sucks but I still made it up to her and got her romance anyway). So does this mean I cant romance her in ME3. If so this would seriously suck... Her ending in Shadow broker made it seem like she was happy and was waiting to get married to shepard? Miranda can go die in a fire. I would hate to replay all of mass effect 2 just have the no romance option.
Don't do that to Miranda because, because,because....DAMN IT DS:LFKLERFGKOPEJRVDFLJV SPOILER!

Blonde Mshep FTW!
It's always a real hassle for me to create a good looking character for a BioWare game. In, say, elder scrolls games it doesn't matter since you hardly see your character's face, but for a BioWare game you're looking at him/her a lot and it's hard for me to play if his/her face isn't what I want it to be.
