The "Goddes, you were dead!" line also flows better with happily ever after IMO.
That line was really powerful to me or more her in that moment. So much wasn't said yet but it was there, the pain, the loss ... I am hoping that ME3 has more of these moments with Liara and the other characters.
Maybe. I haven't read the script but I imagine there will be some confrontational dialogue between the Vs/Liara about her actions in Redemption. Such a confrontation might be enough for Liara to vividly remember those 2 years, causing her to have another of such 'Goddes, you were dead!' moments.
For me the clips that Bioware showed of the child really were powerful, especially the last time that you see the boy. Then the picture of the lastest character revealed shows pictures behind her of people and the word "missing" behind her. I'm feeling a darker ME3 coming which should allow some strong emotional scenes.
After a tough battle, look up and Liara is looking at you (Shepard) with concern. Later in your quarters she comes to you and shares her concern for your safety, upset at the risks you take ... or she sees that you are getting frustrated and puts her hand on your arm as she looks at you with concern. That kind of moments. Where words aren't really needed or few words are required.
I'm also hoping to see how they react to their planets & people at risk of being destroyed by the reapers. I would like to see characters respond to decisions that Shepard makes that puts their homeworld and species at risk ... Example: Go to leave Thessia without their support (risking Thessia to the reapers) and Liara confronts and debates with Shepard. As a human, EW is going to do everything she can to save Earth and I would hope that the other aliens you know (Liara, Garrus, Tali, etc) feel the same about their home planets.
Casey Hudson has said that they used WWII as their inspiration so we might have some conflict there ... I for one would love to see Liara fight for her planet and people. The same with all the characters ... being the advocate for their people with Shepard. This is about survival.
Sorry for the ramble.
