I would be fine with an uber dark ME3 seeing as how that's where the story is leading.  It would make for amazing story telling and an epic finish to the trilogy.  However if it will be uber dark, I definetly think it needs those little moments between the LI and Shepard that PMC mentioned.  I like my happy endings so I of course love the marriage, old age and lots of little blue children line and am desperately hoping for it.  But I would still enjoy the dark story.

Uh oh... JUST HOW DARK IS IT???

I'M LIKE THIS CLOSE TO PMING YUQI AND BEGGING HER TO TELL ME ALL THE SPOILERS.  :crying:

Since people have been discussing that there is a small chance that both Liara and Shep will survive I'm just curious to know what ye all think about it. Like would ye be ok with it if it was done properly or feel like killing one of them off was a bit clichéd or unnecessary considering Bioware are aware of the importance players place on the romance relationships? And do you think that will be the kind of ending that will happen?

Also I uploaded a Liara/FemShep tribute video if anyone is interested in checking it out.

How dark it is? well you just need to imagine it, Shep is chased by Reapers and Cerberus, and at the begining he only has at his side his crew and some friends... with that we have a proportion mmm... 20 vs Hundreds Reapers and mercs??:devil:

I just imagine ME3 like Arrival, when at the end of the DLC you have a run against the time to destroy that relay, but in this time the run is to save the galaxy ;) That could mean sacrifices, faster decisions... all that stuff that can make a history quite dark ;)

This is just a theory, I've never read the leaked version and I only know some little spoilers, but none concerning the history or the ending;)

I wont give big spoilers out, at least not in english ;P I think Liara has a more benezia colouring, which is mixed with her 'fathers' colouring.

I hope they show Liara in the Jane trailer; because It's like Ash is the poster girl, in ME3.

The Jane trailer should show Kaidan to be honest ... he has had almost zero publicity.

Liara and Garrus have really been the poster kids ... a fact has caused some resentment from other fans ... "Liara is Bioware's favorite!" Personally, I think they are using those two because they represent the alien sci-fi of the game. That is why Tali has been minimal ... If you didn't play the game before you wouldn't know she is an alien unless you looked closely at her hands & feet ... Liara and Garrus are a quicker "ALIEN" catch.

Ash has been limited in promos and Kaidan virtually non-existent. Of course all three have fared better than ME2 characters ... zero Miranda, Samara, Zaeed, etc. The Miranda thread is a dark place for a multitude of reasons and one of those reasons are no information, pictures, etc on her at all.

Which is part of the reason I come here (and the Kasumi thread). Sometimes you just need to be in a peaceful place. And blue is very peaceful:innocent:

I can understand the Miranda frustration just not the current doomsaying. I hate that the "leak" ever happened!
Hopefully when ME3 is out ... MisterJB, jtav, flemm and Ieldra2 to name a few are pleasantly surprised by the final product. Fingers crossed!

Miranda got most of the publicity in 2 though. But Hay I only have to turn on the T.V to hear  a voice like hers.

Considering the overwhelming odds stacked against Shepard and his team, and the fact that Citadel civilizations are headed towards the most devastating conflict in any of their histories, Shepard and his team should not escape completely unscathed. I think the ideal ending, at least as far as the fate of the galaxy goes, should combine both triumph and tragedy. Like Mass Effect 1 it should also be impossible to get your entire team through unscathed, though Bioware should up the ante a bit compared to Virmire and put more than one squad mate in the firing line.

I don't think there should be scripted deaths, and who lives and dies should be determined by the players actions throughout the game. So it should be possible for both Shepard and Liara to survive, but it should  also be equally possible for one or both of them to die.

I want to be surprised as much as possible with what Casey Hudson's team and Hale&Hillis have cooked up for this story the first time I play! That is why I am also going to stay away from the demo.

I have waited this long ... March 6th is almost here! Image IPB

So Liara's default costume/armor for ME3 is what she wore in the Shadow Broker DLC? And the alternate one in the Collector's Edition is what, Samara's red Justicar outfit?

I've never seen a clear, full sized picture of what it looked it. Thanks for posting that.

I don't like the thing on her head though.

I wonder if Liara will ever get to see that Prothean orb you get after Firewalker.

I think Shepard collected it just to show it off to Liara later. I mean does Shepard know somebody else who likes spooky Prothean artifacts?

I can think of many uses for an orb that pulsates when you touch it though.

I'll wait to see it in game but I think that like Jack and Miranda's alternative outfits with the visors I'll end up not using the outfit because of it. Now if the outfit was more revealing like Samara's ... I could overlook the head band. Image IPB

Actually, one thing I noticed about that Liara-romance scene in ME2 is that the items you pick up DO become a noticable props in the scene.

For instance, if you collect the prothean artifact, the opening scene shows Shepard pouring wine right next to it. On the PS3 version, regardless of whether you pick it up, it will show up in the scene-- hell, the devs patched the game so that it is on a slightly different part of the table! Kinda cool I guess.

But there's more than that.

When first Liara enters, the camera briefly highlights Shepard's SB Base model, and then Sovereign (which Liara appears to glance at). She also looks at the fish tank-- but whether there are fish in there or not its just kinda cool.

Later, when she's crying at the table and says 'You were dead!', she glances (quite appropriately) at the old SR1 helmet on the desk.

Little things like that I really appreciated-- even if they didn't add anything beyond superficial attention to that scene. Here were three or four little items, three (I think) from seperate DLCs.

Good stuff. God I'm a Mass Effect nerd.

I find that it's the smaller things ... the attention to details that get me excited. A small glance, a touch.

What were we talking about? Image IPB

Uhh.... I dunno.... o.o

I'm happily plowing through my Shep/Liara run in ME2 right now :) It takes forever to get to LOTSB... I haven't even gotten Jack yet.
